You can use VI Server's 'Close FP' method to close the front-panel. You will need a reference to that VI to invoke the method. One easy way is to launch the VI with the VI Server and hold on to its reference.
See the attached diagram -- the top-level.vi is launched and run, we wait for 5 seconds, and then close its front-panel.

I am not sure whether the patch number you are looking for is available.
Typically you can use "-v" to display the patch level of SAP kernel programs. When I run "jcontrol -v" or "jlaunch -v", the patch number is blank (at least on the 6.40 release I checked)
The SP level should be able to tell how current the Java instance is updated, especially for NetWeaver 7 systems always patched with JSPM stack.

It would be best to use the standard windows mixer "sndvol32.exe" (in the windows directory) and control it with the System Exec.vi from the Communication palette.

How can I eliminate the pointless top bar, close up the spaces between bars that are wasting space and reduce the depth of the tabs so that I have the space I had before for the websites I am looking at?

I have updated to the latest form of Mozilla Firefox, and the top of the screen is altered so that it occupies far more space than it used to do, leaving far less space for what I want to look at. Why are there spaces between bars? Why are the tabs deeper than they used to be or need to be? How can I eliminate the pointless top bar which merely duplicates the information in the tab bar? Is there any way of simply restoring the previous arrangement?

Okay, I accept that this is just how it is, and there is nothing to be done about it, because no-one except me thinks that the icons and toolbars should be organised to take up minimum space in order to allocate maximum space to the page.
The crowning irony of all this is that, having updated to the latest Mozilla Firefox and consequently having this arrangement at the top of the page which I don't like, the middle of the page now comes up with its old message, 'You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade now.'
Computers are very odd. :(

How can I find out what top level VI TestStand cannot find a sub-VI for?

I am trying diligently to build a TestStand deployment and keep getting errors. TestStand is telling me that an error has occurred because it cannot find a sub-VI in a certain path. The problem is it does not tell me what VI it cannot find a sub-VI for. It just gives me the path that it is trying to find the sub-VI in. Is there any way I can tell what top level VI in a sequence TestStand is trying to find the sub-VI for? Thanks in advance for any help.

Josh - I did not have any disbale diagram structures in the sub-VIs that were giving me trouble. Nor did I have any read only VIs. I mass compiled my entrire directory structure...twice. I had no choice but to go through every single sequence and open every VI. Once opened there were three that did not have the correct directory for a sub-VI and need saved. There were no errors due to a Labview mismatch. For some reason these three VIs did not save the sub-VIs new directory therefore causing trouble during my TestStand deployment build process. The thing I find odd about this is there are hundreds of other VIs that use these same sub-VIs in the same new directory that mass compiled fine. I am continuing my TestStand deployment build process and I will see how it goes from here. I definitely got further, after finding these three errros, than I have before. Thanks for the help.

How to Display Detailed navigation passing Top level navigation node name

I have prepared a DLN par file but unfortunatly my requirement is such that I need to pass one of the toplevel node name as input parameter and that should display the corresponding DLN which is from 3rd level.
I have checked in sdn for passing a value to the navigation tag lib which will consider it as a selectednode but could find none.
Can some body suggest me how to acheive this.

I use 2 same versions of portals connected via federated portal concept.
I have my detailed navigation par file in portal2 and was calling it from portal1 from a iview.
Since I am not physically navigating in portal2(which mean there is no selected node to iterate ), when I call that iview in portal1 it is picking up only 1st node in top level navigation.
So i need to pass "My reports" (as 1st level) & "India" (as 2nd level) as parameters such that it gets only its DTN at all times from 3rd level.
Hope you understand my scenario, below is my iteration code logic.

How can I change the order (top to bottom) of toolbars

I've just upgraded to FX31. I have Classic Theme Restorer installed, and nothing too drastic has occurred. However, the order (top to bottom) of my Add-on toolbars has changed. How can I correct this ? I have tried disabling and restoring them, both singly and together but to no avail.
The toolbars are: Google Bar and Web Developer. I want Web Developer under Google Bar like it was before the upgrade, please.
I notice that although the Google Bar is listed on 'View > Toolbars' it makes no difference whether it's checked or not: it's always displayed unless I disable it as an add-on.
A minor matter, perhaps, but it's intensely irritating to have these things arbitrarily changed when there's an upgrade. I know I'm not alone in this.

Yes, thank you, that did work.
I was a bit flummoxed at first because the extensions.ini file showed the extensions with unhelpful ID names like 'c45c406...........xpi'. But then I noticed that they were all listed in the Troubleshooting information with both plain text and ID, so it was possible to pick out the two that needed swapping.
I use my Fx browser a lot for web development and it's really irritating when the layout gets savaged by an upgrade, particularly when the upgrade itself seems to offer no benefits (except perhaps a security fix).

Hi all,
I am having a problem with form based authentication. I use tomcat.
I want to show or hide content on my site based on the roles that the user belongs. In fact, I have already done this with isUserInRole(aRole) in the servlet side and with pageContext.request.userPrincipal.roles in the jsp side.
The problem starts when I give the user the choice to add their selfs in a new role. i.e. a user decides to be an admin as well. I would like the site respond immediatelly to the user' s new role. That would mean that right after the user clicks the link that makes him/her an administrator, all the administrative links would be available without him having to logout and back in. But that just doesn' t happen.
It seems like the UserPrincipal in the request is never updated and it is always the exact same UserPrincipal that was fetched during the j_security_check. Hence, the administrative links are available only if the user logs out and makes a new login request, thus making a new j_security_check and fetching a fresh UserPrincipal in the request.
Is there a way to update this UserPrincipal with the new role(s) added during a session?
Is there anything else I could do?
I have been scanning the entire web for 3 days and found nothing :-(

Youcannot assign a canvas at runtime. Yu have to specify int at designtime and it cannot be changed at runtime. if you need an item in more than one canvas, use a mirror-item (duplcate the item and set the property Synchronize with)

hi! im root and i want to give all the privileges to my user so he can open any program and any root folder. not in terminal (sudo gparted... for example) but i want to double click the program and open it. im using gnome. also i dont want to right click and open as admin. how can i do that?
