How to go back a page in finder using gesture like OS Snow Leopard

I used to be able to do "back" in finders, and safari or any other web brower by swipping 3 fingers to the left on the touch pad in OS Snow Leopard. Does anyone know how do I do it in Lion?

Hi Thanks, but i just found the answer. It is as below.

  • Backing up an encrypted drive with Time Machine under Snow Leopard

In a nutshell, my question is “Can I back up an encrypted drive using Time Machine under Snow Leopard, and if so, how do I access its data from a previous day?”
I have a 1Tb USB drive connected to my MacBook, which runs Snow Leopard. The drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). This drive is included in the drives that Time Machine backs up. I used Disk Utility to create an encrypted drive on the USB drive (998Gb), also formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). The encrypted drive is not on TimeMachine’s list of excluded files/drives.
When I go into Time Machine, I can see the USB drive and the encrypted drive in the side bar. I can access the files on the encrypted drive as long as I’m looking at how it stands now. But if I move backward in time, the encrypted drive is grayed out and inaccessible.  If I click on the USB drive, I get a window that tells me it is 75.9Gb in size, and nothing else is available to me.
When I open the back-up drive in Finder and navigate to Backups.backupdb > macbook name > some date and time, I see my MacBook’s hard drive and the USB drive. The encrypted drive is not shown. When I click on the USB drive, I see an entry for drivename.sparsebundle. When I click on that I’m prompted for the password for the encrypted drive. When I enter it, I get a warning telling me that the disk image could not be opened and that the encrypted drive has no mountable file systems.
Is my encrypted drive really be backed-up and if so, how do I access the backed-up data?

Having received a bunch of views but no replies over the last 5 days, I decided to venture into my local Apple store and ask this same question. The response I got from the geniuses was that you can't get a reliable back-up of an encrypted drive using Time Machine under Snow Leopard. So, my only alternative is to copy the encrypted drive's contents elsewhere, unencrypt the drive, and then copy the contents back. This is what I expected, but not what I wanted to hear.

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

  • Please rate the After Effects Help pages you find useful

You may have noticed that Adobe employees and Community Experts hanging in this forum keep pointing users to the relevant sections in After Effects Help on the Web. The reason for this is, of course, that the quality of explanations, visual examples, video tutorials and other materials in those pages is much higher than what anyone could quickly type in a forum reply. Personally, I think AE help has experienced a drastic overhaul in the last few years, to become a great, community-driven, user-focused resource.
if you find these pages helpful, you can in return help the documentation team by stating which pages you find useful by using the buttons at the bottom of each page.

  • How do I reinstall Lion if I get a new hard drive?  My mac came with Leopard and I cannot find my upgrade disk for Snow Leopard

My MacBook Pro originally came with Leopard.  I have the OS and Applications disks for Leopard but I cannot find my upgrade disk for Snow Leopard.  I would like to perform a clean install of Lion on the new hard drive and restore some data from my Time Machine backup.  I am not looking to restore the current image to my new hard drive.  I have not yet removed the exisiting hard drive nor have I wiped my data.

The only way to do that is to buy a New SL Retail DVD. Or you could buy the Lion Install USB thumb drive from Apple for $69.
You must have SL installed to then install Lion or have a thumb drive with the Lion installer.
You could also create a Lion USB Recovery thumb drive using Lion Disk Assistant. But you need to have Lion already installed and the Lion RecoveryHD Partition on your drive to make the Recovery thumb drive.

    >Step 1. Backup existing data using time machine.
Time Machine is nice, but you have very little in terms of ability to verify that your data is all backed up.      I find Time Machine is better for the occasional recovery of previously written data at specific times.  A good backup solution that survives an erase and install (there is no clean install in Mac OS X), is a clone, and preferably TWO clones.    See my FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
Time Machine can work as good as a clone, and in fact I once had to rely on it because my hard drive died.  Thankfully it did recover everything.   But I had my clone just in case it didn't work.     Now I feel more comfortable since clones allow you to boot themselves, and thus prove all the important system information got saved, and not just the user data.
Clones are also easier to import with the migration assistant.

  • How do I upgrade OS X 10.5.8 to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8?

How do I upgrade OS X 10.5.8 to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it's already running the newest OS it can.
If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

OK, I think you are trying to connect the printer wirelessly to your wireless router, right?
I think that is the way to go, so let's do that:
    1. Restart the router by pulling its power cord momentarily.  Let it restart.
    2. On the front of the printer go to Setup > Wireless (or Netowrk, not sure) > Wireless Setup Wizard.  Run the Wizard to connect your printer to your router.
    3. After that, go to Control Panel > Devices & Printers and delete all instances of the printer.
    4. Finally re-add the printer with these instructions:
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing. Get its IP from a Network Test printed from the front panel of the printer.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Devices & Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Hey Guys I Wanted To Know How Do I Change The Download/Install Location Of Apps I download From The Mac App Store Bac To The Dock Like In Snow Leopard?

So Every Time I Download From The Mac App Store (In Lion) It Always Pops Up And Downloads/Installs In The iOS Feature Thing, So How Do I Change That So It Doenloads/Installs Straight 2 The Dock Like In Snow Leopard?? lol
    Specs...
    Macbook Pro (Early 2008)
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB RAM (MAXED)

Actually it does because the Dock is Snow Leopard's program launcher. For Lion, LaunchPad is the program launcher, not the Dock. Don't like that? Here's where you complain. Otherwise, you asked and I answered.

  • How do you create a "DEVELOPER PROFILE" in xcode (4.2 on Snow Leopard)?

How do you create a "DEVELOPER PROFILE" in xcode (4.2 on Snow Leopard)? I accidentally deleted it from Keychain Access.

I'm not sure what you mean by Developer Profile, but you can create a provisioning profile in Xcode 4 from the Organizer. Click the Organizer button in the project window toolbar. Click the Devices button at the top of the Organizer. Select Provisioning Profiles from the left side of the Organizer.
If you need to create something other than a provisioning profile, you may need to go to Apple's iOS developer center, sign in, and create what you need from there.
