How to go back to drag pages set up

some how as i was updating things , i got the old X button at the top to exit out of pages. How do i get bak to draging the pages to get out. thank you for your help.  ps NEW COMPUTER windows 8.1

I tried trashing the new Pages, even using AppCleaner, and put the old one back in its place but it would not show up in Launchpad. Now that may not be a huge deal on the surface since I can drag it to the dock from the app folder and set up associations manually, but it tells me that I have incompletely deleted the new Pages and that the old one is not in the same state as it was originally. Also, I could not officially reinstall the new one (even if I wanted to) using app store since it still thought it was installed. I had clearly messed things up not terribly, but enough to really annoy me and maybe cause trouble down the line.
Anyway, I did end up doing a complete restore from recovery mode. It seemed the only way and it worked. New Pages, gone, old Pages, back. Thank you Time Machine!
FYI: I am CERTAIN I did not push the button to upgrade Pages, but only to install the new Numbers (I did not previously own it). Maybe the new Numbers needs the new Pages or something and it triggers the Pages upgrade as well. In any case, beware the Numbers install routine if you want to hang on to Pages '09. Thanks.

You can use the dropdown list in the File>Document Setup>Artboard; Custom is at the top (hidden at first view).

  • How to go back to previous page

I have two JSP pages first.jsp and second.jsp the user starts at first.jsp and clicks the submit button which then takes the user to second.jsp where the users information is saved in a database. I want to know how to go back to first.jsp from second.jsp after the users info has been saved? I have been able to get the previous pages url information put I don't know what to do with it. I know there is a jsp:forward but don't think this can help me. PLEASE someone help me I am stuck and need to move forward.
    thank you

Why do you think that jsp:forward will not fit your requirement? An alternative is to use sendRedirect()

  • How to go back to old Pages (09)?

I clicked to download Numbers 2013 today (it's free now, why not?) and for some reason I was also upgraded from Pages '09 to '13! I had previously been using Pages 09 and specifically DID NOT want to upgrade to the new version. I realize the old version stays in a folder in the applications folder but no matter what I do it will not show in Launchpad (only the new version does) and I would really just like to go back to before the "upgrade." But I have tried to delete '13 and place '09 in its place and also tried to do it via Time Machine which gives me an error that "applications cannot be modified or deleted because they are needed by OSX" or something like that. Anyway, how do I do this? Can I somehow just copy the backup I select to overwrite my current data? How would I do that? I have tried to find this answer but everyone always stops at the fact that '09 wasn't deleted which isn't good enough for me. I want my computer back exactly the way it was an hour ago! Thanks for any help. Oh, and I do backup to an external 1TB drive via USB 3.0 so copying the data won't be a terrible long chore.

  • Aperture web gallery - how to link back to main page from iWeb?

Okay, this may be simple, but I can't figure it out.
I created and uploaded a few web pages with iWeb to my dot.Mac account (web.mac.com/f8lee50) just to get a feel for things. I then created a web gallery with Aperture and uploaded it - naturally Aperture generated a URL for the gallery, which I set up as a link on my "Photos from Hawaii" page (the link is the word 'this' in the second paragraph, if you wawnt to look).
Okay, so this gets me from the "photos from Hawaii" page to the gallery, and within the gallery I can jump to the various images etc. But how does one navigate back to the "Photos from Hawaii" page from whence they came? Is there some sort of smart link that can be inserted (by Aperture?) that will send the viewer back to the main homepage? Or are the Aperture galleries essentially dead ends?

Richard, thanks for responding - I'll check that tutorial.
And thank you for the kind words, me100finn. I have not played with any variables as far as layout on the gallery (I did a bunch of stuff with the books, but the web gallery seems far less flexible) so I cannot answer your wuestion about the gray shadows.
Steve, thank you for the additional clarification (and the hint about spaces in URLs) - I guess what this all boils down to is that the web galleries from Aperture are not all that useful when they are meant to be a part of a bigger overall site. I'm not sure of what you meant when you say they have little forward or backward navigation in them - at least you can click on a thumbnail to get to an image, click next or previous or the grid to get back to the thumbnail galery. But, 'twould seem that hand coding HTML pages (the very thing I was hoping to avoid) is the only way to really integrate them. Given that, I gues the better approach will be just to use iWeb to load the images anyway.
Well, folks, thank you all for your answers. Until I do a re-do, I guess the back button is the way to go (which, for the record, I did sorta figure out myself

  • In Robohelp, how to go back to launch page

I have Captivate demos in a Robohelp system. Each demo is
launched from a help page, and when it ends I would like the help
page to return automatically. It runs within the same RH frame, not
as a popup. Right now the demo ends and the user doesn't
necessarily know what to do next. Is there a way to do
automatically go back to the RH page?

Couple of ideas. Take a look at how I display my quizzes and
clownfish videos in the Clownfish School sample project. (which
ships with RoboHelp). This may not be exactly what you had in mind
but may give you some ideas.
    http://www.showmethedemo.com/Transfer/Sample-Project/Clownfish_School/
(Look especially at the Quiz and Clowns in the Movies links
    in the TOC.)
Also, you may have missed this, but you can change the way a
Captivate movie Starts and Ends. Go to Edit > Preferences and
under Project go to Start and End. Notice the dropdown list of
    alternatives for Project End.
You could choose Open URL or file (.htm) to make sure they
return to your RoboHelp page. Also note the tiny dropdown arrow at
the end of that field which lists the window you want them to
    return to.
Hopefully, this will open up some options for you. Try it and
    let us know.
    Thanx.

I tied to install OS Mavericks onto my mac and now find there is not enough memory. Any idea how I get back to my original set up. Bit of a novice, so any advice welcome. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean as it shouldn't have installed at all if it didn't meet the system requirements.
But here are some step by step instructions to revert.

  • How to: Print table on first page, use second page (back) for text only

Hi, I am looking for a clear document on how to use pagination and the Odd and Even pages.
We need to print a table over several pages, but only on Odd pages.
On the back of each page we need to print "Terms and Conditions". Is that possible? Can it be done without scripting
We are on ADOBE version 8.1
In the file properties, double sided is switched on, and version set to 8.1 and higher.
I created two Master pages, a FrontPage with ContentArea1and a BackPage with ContentArea2.
FrontPage is used for uneven pages, BackPage is used for the even pages. The masterpages are printed correctly (alternating properly).
Two pages were created for the content area's:
ITEMS: contains item data (table with header and footer). Place is "On Odd Page". After "Goto page BackPage". And if the table needs to be paginated it goes to BackPage with overflow leader "Conditions".
CONDITIONS: contains a textfield (Terms and Conditions). Place is "On Even Page". After "Goto page FrontPage". No overflow.
What should happen is that on the front pages the item table is printed. If there are too many lines it should overflow to page number 3 then 5 etc. All the even pages should display the text.
What actually happens is that the item table also gets printed in the content area for the Condition text...
Also the "Conditions" are not printed on the last back page. But only once before it...
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

Fixed it... After a lot of creating, deleting, playing around with pagination and the inevitable cursing...
    I have created 5 pages:
    1. FirstPage
         - Odd/Even: Odd (Front) Pages
         - Placement: First page (In page set)
    2. FrontPage (For Odd pages)
         - Odd/Even: Odd/Front Pages
         - Placement: Rest of Pages
    3. BackPage (For Even pages)
         - Odd/Even: Even (Back) Pages
         - Placement: Rest of Pages
    4. LastPage
         - Odd/Even: No Odd/Even Restrictions
         - Placement: Last page (In page set)
    5. DummyPage
         - Odd/Even: Blank pages
The 'Terms and conditions' are located on the BackPage and LastPage (as a text).
The table that is printed is (of course) located on a normal page (flowed subform).
Pagination tab: Placement = Following previous, and After = "Continue filling parent". No overflow... Basically, it's all default.
The table lines will now start on the first page and if there are more lines than can be printed on this page, it will continue in the next content area. That will be on the FrontPage.
The trick is that each master page must have a content area (mandatory). Except for Blank pages, but these cannot be used... Blank pages would only be used once, after the first page.
What I discovered is that you can drag a content area away from the Master page and attach it to a different master page.
Logically, if there is no content area on a page, then data cannot be printed there. So, I created a Dummypage. On this page I dumped the content areas from the LastPage and the BackPage. As a result, content cannot be printed anymore on the back of pages. Only the standard text (a text field) is printed there. When the data from the table is overflowing, it will automatically overflow from the FirstPage to the next content area. Which is located on the FrontPages only.
The DummyPage is NOT used anywhere.
The result is that the records can only be printed on the content areas that exist on the First and Front pages. The back pages are now skipped.
Duplex printing is now working correctly, and the text is printed on the back of all the pages.
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

  • How to get rid of the main text box in the back of the page AND move things

I usually work in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, but am creating two newsletter templates in Pages for a colleague, since it will be easier for her. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get rid of the main text box in the back of the page that is driving me crazy. I just want a nice blank page that I can do whatever I want with. AND, I can't figure out how to select things so that I can move them, like shapes and text boxes. Some things seem to move fine, then other things just sit there. I am at the end of my rope!!!

    Hi, Dylan. Welcome to Discussions.
If you're referring to the area where you just start typing when you open a new blank document, you can't get rid of it. But you also don't have to use it. You can insert text boxes and size and position them as you desire. Just be sure they're defined as Fixed on Page. When one is full and you want to continue it to another page (or to the side), click in the blank blue box on the lower right side of the text box. That will create another box and your overflow text will flow into it. Then position it where needed.
Also, you can create a text box the width of the page and then set it for 2 or more columns.
When you want to send something to the back and you may want to access it again later, just use the send backward command. If you send it all the way to the back, it will be behind the main text layer (where it will be safe from acvcidental movement) but you will have to click outside the work area and then drag the pointer to the object to select it.
Hope this helps to get you started.

  • How to I get back to the page I was reading after looking at a bookmarked page?

How to I get back to the page I was reading after looking at a bookmarked page? (And, why is "Help" in Adobe products such a useless, time-wasting ordeal?)

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • How To reset Safari window size back to original factory setting?

How To reset Safari window size back to original factory setting?
I resize my pages often but I don't want to always keep them at random sizes. I want to know the proper method to reset the webpage size back to it default size. Right now it's too wide, and I click the green plus button in the upper left corner and it goes down to a very small size, I click the green plus again and it returns to the Too Wide size. I just can't seem to get it to go back to the default size.
    Thanks for your help!

You could try this.   Set the safatri page to your convenience by dragging the bottom right hand corner of the page.   Quit safari, then immediately relaunch.   It should start up the same size as it was before you quit.  Then ...
Go to Safari > preferences and set the page as your home page.

  • How do I back up my entire iphoto library to an external hard drive that I have dedicated for photos only?  Can I simply drag the iphoto library onto my seagate (hard drive) icon?

How do I back up my entire iphoto library on to an external hard drive that will be my second back up plan.  I already have one back up that is also synched with time machine.  But now I want to back up my iphoto library to a new hard drive to have a second copy. Can I simply drag the whole library onto the icon on my desk top?  THX

WHile you can do it that way, the next time you back up you'll end up copying the entire library again, and,as you'l see, once a library gets bigger that can take a considerable amount of time.
Try using an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
