How to go backwards please...?

I have an iphone 3GS. It has worked perfectly for years and years until I recently updated to ios 6.1.3. From that moment it no longer connects to any wi-fi unless I stand within 1 metre of the base station, and is constantly dropping the bluetooth connection to my car audio. All other Apple devices in my house still connect ok eg: imacs, macbooks, ipods and ipads. I've spent ages trying to talk to Apple but they don't appear capable of understanding that the problem is without doubt directly related to the upgrade, not to me, not my phone, not my settings, not my car, not my wi-fi modem, not my wi-fi provider, nor anything else. Is there a way of bypassing their lovely chat staff and actually getting a message through to Apple that there's something in their upgrade that is wrong? Or is this Apple's latest marketing strategy to force me to buy a new phone? - because at this rate it certainly won't be an Apple..... But the most important question, is it possible to go back and reload the earlier version of the iphone's software to get it working again whilst Apple pontificate?

Sorry joel406, you sound like an Apple rep. If a product is working perfectly, the after an upgrade it no longer works for me (or for thousands of others) then it's a conceited company on the road to obscurity again who simply ignore the problem. Buying a new phone is indeed an option - but sadly, after 30 years of loyalty to Apple products it certainly won't be an iphone and I'll now be looking at what others can offer - and customer service will be top of my list.....

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
          DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

I don't think there will be a solution to this. Exchange 2003 just isn't supported.

The errors are listed at Update errors | Windows. This one suggests that a file is missing. Is Acrobat still functional? If so, go to the help>Repair. Then do the updates from the help menu. You can also download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (or MAC equivalent).

It sounds like you are looking for a program like Typinator.
It isn't free, and the site doesn't specify compatibility with any OS above 10.7.
As of today, the latest release is dated May 29th, 2012.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.

If you disconnect the cable going to the serial device, do you still get the echo? If so you have something going on in the port setup. If disconnecting the cable stops the echo then the device you're talking to is doing it - which would be my bet. One thing to check is whether this might not be normal operation. I have seen devices that if a command was successful, it simply echo'd back the command string you had sent. Also many serial devices have setting for specifying whether they are to echo commands.

You need to de-register the iPad that you are going to give to your wife:

Change to your region, etc.
Then your wife can register on her name.

You're out of space. Do you sync music to your phone? If so, try syncing it over in 128kb which will save a lot of room. Option is right in front of you in iTunes when you plug phone in.

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.
