How to go for Internalization in Web Dynpros

Can any one provide me the steps for internalization in Web Dynpros.

Hi DK,
Internationalization in Web Dynpro is very simple.
In your project, for each view, Controller, Simple Type, Message Pool there will be one .xlf will be created by default.
For Internationalization you just need to go that .xlf file and desired language.
For Example, View Name is TestView there will be TestView.wdview.xlf will be there. Just need to create similar file for language. (TestView.wdview_de.xlf). And in the test just add corresponding German.
Go to Internet Explorer Tools -> Internet Options -> Languages -> Add German (de).
Rebuild your application and then deploy. It will give your corresponding German Language.

Hi,
for more information about layout options in forms, go to your form in transaction SFP, layout view and choose Help -> Adobe LifeCycle Designer Help. There you find information on page layout, e.g. " Objects can be placed anywhere on a master page, inside or outside the content area. As a general rule, do not place objects inside the content area unless your intention is to have other objects laid down on top of the master page objects when the form is rendered. If you are setting up a watermark, place it inside the content area. "

1. Create a value attribute of type byte called pdfSource.
2. Insert an UI element called Interactive Form in your layout
3. Set the source property of this Interactive From UI element to the context pdfSource.
4. Insert a button which would open your pdf file.

I think it is not to get from this forum. You have to download the trail version and follow the instructions for installation.
Once you installed the software, you can request for the License key with your SCN credentials.

How do I connect my netweaver web dynpro to the portal? how do i arrange the iviews? how do i add the iviews?

You can create webdynpro iviews in portal in two ways.
1) from iview template &
2) from webdynpro java applications.
If you create from the 1st one, you have to provide two parameters of the webdynpro application.
i) namespace
ii) application name
you can find these namespace & application name from content admin --> webdynpro --> open your webdynpro project > open the application. you will find two columns.
left side name is the namespace (eg: local/firstproject) & right side you will find application name.
If you create iview from 2nd menthod, the following is the link contains creation of webdynpro iview.

Hi PooYee,
the BSP application would run the WD catalog and communicate with SRM.
In a certain way it would "wrap" the WD catalog application and enable accessing the http header.
This of course is not a trivial implementation.

I am creating an web dynpro application and i need to perform certain functions based on the verification of role name .
To the users which are been assigned to the particular role only they can perform the desired application.
But i dont know what condition should be given in order to get the role name from the sap gui as well as from the netweaver portal.
I would also like to ask how can we import the roles from netweaver portal to sap gui or how can we set authorisations on those roles which are been created in netweaver portal

Hi,
There is no support for using portal API to get the roles in webdynpro ABAP.
So the best way to achieve this would be create an iview for your webdynpro ABAP application and control the user access by assigning them permission and placing the content in "Security zones" which makes the content non-accessible to the user if he is assigned with the role and intill he has required zone assigned to him.
