Hello,
From what I understand through your problem is that you are updating the database tables with the values obtained from the *.msg file, which may also include Asian characters. If you debug and check your internal table I'm certain you would find your Asian characters as they are. But once you upload them on to the database they get distorted. The problem is probably arising because your system is not unicode enabled, Please confirm with your basis person whether the system is Unicode enabled.

• How to handle the errors in transformations

Hi
I am using SOA, JDev 10.1.3.3.
How to handle the exceptions in transformations.
If any thing goes wrong in transformation then how to handle that situation.
I am not getting any kind of instances like errored out..
Please help me out
Regards
Pavankumar

I think your issue is that your process is going into manual recovery.
In the console click on the tab BPEL processes. There is a link on the left for manual recovery. Do you see your processes there?
What happens if you put your transformation into a scope. The in that scope you have a catch All. In this catch All routine just do a terminate. This will error your process but you should see it appear in the console.
cheers

• Lotus notes data in SAP BW

Hi Gurus,
We are facing with a typical scenario here. I want to have my Lotus Notes data in SAP BW system. Lotus notes uses NSF file system to store data. I am not clear how can we get this into SAP BW. I tried searching the same in different forums but none of the thread come close to solving the issue.
There are connectors available. However, I am not able to find documentations on the same. I know how to transfer SAP BW data in Lotus notes but not the reverse. I tried searching for LotusSQL Drivers but found no documents on this as well.
I want to know what source system can we use here. Is'nt there any other way without using a file system as Source system to accomplish this. I want the entire process to be automated. I don't want to use a middleware (like ORACLE database) in between Lotus notes server and SAP BW.
Can anyone please respond to the same.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sreekul Nair

Thank you for the prompt response Shanthi. However, I don't want to use File System as my source system. I want to do it via a use of a Lotus notes connector or Lotus Enterprise integrator. I want that the data as and when pushed from Lotus notes should appear in BW system.
How to achieve this. Plz help.

• Lotus Notes Folder Not Found in Server Path..

Hi..
I am new to portal development..:)..
Want to ask about Lotus Notes in PDK..
I've downloaded the latest PDK thinking in the Portal Server, they not yet install and configure the PDK.
But, when i checked in the server, actually there is already PDK installed..
But, the problem is..
Now, i want to do Lotus Notes Portlet..
There is no Lotus Notes folder in the server..
so, i am not sure how to follow the step in the userguide..
"$IAS_HOME(MID_TIER)/j2ee/OC4J_PORTAL/applications/lotusnotes/lotusnotes/WEB-INF/lib directory. "
How do i created a new Folder "lotus Notes" like the path above?
Could anybody help me here?...plzz...

The PDK you are seeing in your server installation must be an old version that comes along with the Oracle9iAS installation. The Lotus Notes Portlets come with the latest PDK download. need to upgrade the existing PDK installation to thios latest one to get the lotusnotes installed. Please follow the instructions in the upgrading.9020x.to.90240.html doc available in the PDK download extract at PDK_extract_dir\pdk\pdk\jpdk\v2 directory. Please feel free to get back if you havce any further issues.

• Java program to send email from lotus notes

Hello,
Please anyone suggest me how to send email from lotus notes using java.
Thanks.

I don't understand the question. Are you asking:
1. How do I send e-mail from Lotus notes manually? Press the Send button.
2. How do I send e-mail from Java? Look into the Java Mail API. Doesn't require Lotus Notes (or any other e-mail client, for that matter).
3. How do I send e-mail to a Lotus Notes address? Just send e-mail to the address (see # 2 above). Nothing special required just because the recipient uses Lotus Notes. FYI: I use Lotus Notes (though I hate it) because it's our company's standard & have written Java apps that send e-mails to Notes. The only time I've had to be aware the recipient was a Notes client was when I was sending HTML formatted messages; then I had to pay attention to the limitations of Notes' brain dead HTML parser.

• Can't sync with Lotus Notes

Phone: 6233
PC Suite: 6.85.14.1
Notes: 6.5.1
Have entered server name in settings:
name/SRV/companyname
Filename:
mail\myname.nsf
Both of these are taken from Notes, but not 100% I picked the right ones since I'm new to Notes.
Get error message: name/SRV/companyname!!mail\myname.nsf Server not responding. Server could be down or you have network problems....etc.
Seems that PC suite inserts exclamation points in the address. Tried replacing server address with IP, e.g.

God I miss outlook ;-)
Can anyone help?

HI all,
First of all for those who do not know how to create a local database in Lotus Notes,
File -> Database -> New -> in Server name, give a filename of your own and Filename, you have to specify the complete path of the file. ( For example, if you are creating a file in desktop, complete path is C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\x.nsf)
username = name which you have logged in
x.nsf = Filename you have created newly in local
and in Server template select Mail(R7) i think since i have installed lotus notes 7.0 i have selected Mail(R7).
Once new file is created in local server as said above,
Sync settings in Nokia PC Sync
In sync settings in Nokia pC Sync, select Lotus Notes 7.x, ( i have installed lotus notes 7.0) for calender sync, Server name should be local and in Filename, give the complete path ( something similar to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\x.nsf, if you have stored your file in the desktop) with the name.
Now sync the calender with Lotus Notes.
Hope it may help you Best of Luck

• Secure Search Lotus Notes and NTFS?

How can I do secure search with Lotus Notes and NTFS sources? When configuring Identity Management, I have to choose between Lotus and MSAD. And user names are different between both directories. Any chance to secure both sources with one query?

If user names are different on the two systems, you can't combine them in a single SES instance. You only log on once to SES, so the system wouldn't be able to tell which username to use for each system.
However, this can be done via the federation architecture. You need two SES instances, one connected to AD and one connected to the Lotus Notes native identity plugin.
You will then need to have an attribute in your AD which contains the Notes username. Let's call it LNNAME.
You would then create a federated source on the instance connected to AD, which collects results from the instance connected to the Notes plugin.
When you define your federated source, there is a field called "Search User Attribute". This is the name of the AD attribute which contains the Notes username - LNNAME in our example.
SES then authenticates the user against AD. It then runs federated queries against the Notes system, asserting that the logged in user is a valid Notes user with a certain username, which it gets from the LNNAME attribute.
Naturally this requires trust between the systems. The Notes system has to trust the AD to correctly authenticate and identify the user - even though the Notes password will never be given.

• Handle a redirect when invoking a webservice

Hello everyone,
recently we launched SAP in our business and to manage the communication between SAP and some other applications we use web services.
SAP now offers me some services and normally I just get the WSDL description of the service, fill the necessary input with a transform and invoke the service. Works fine.
In one WSDL for example you can find the following location in the address-tag of the service: http://SAP0003:8010/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/book_ws/100/yca_book/yca_binding.
I send the request to that URL and get a response.
But now there's this problem: The server SAP0003 is just one of three SAP (SAP0001 & SAP0002) servers in our company and if these server breaks down, all request will abort, because they are unable to connect to the server - obviously.
Therefor one of our SAP consultants set up a redirect. I now have to connect to the main server (SAP0001) on another port (8110) and would get redirected to a running server. If I now access the address http://SAP0001:8110/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/book_ws/100/yca_book/yca_binding in my browser I indeed get redirected, for example to URL stated above (http://SAP0003:8010/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/book_ws/100/yca_book/yca_binding). They use the port 8110 a message server port in SAP.
But now what I can't do is just alter the URL in the WSDL from SAP0003:8010 to SAP0001:8110, because then the server also claims that it can't connect to the end point.
So is there a way in BPEL to call the message server port, receive the URL and call that server?
The consultant also mentioned a web dispatcher to handle the load balancing but this isn't installed yet and we currently trying to figure out a way without it.
I really hope you guys unterstand my problem and I want to apologize for every grammar mistakes I made.
We're using SOA Suite 11(0.0.5 I guess?) and BPEL 2.0.
Regards,
Carsten

• How to handle http 302 response in OEG

how to handle http 302 response.
The URL has moved <a href="https://............................
I am using "Connect to URL" and "Reflect message" filters and I am getting http 302 response. In the http esponse body/content I have the "The URL has moved <a href="https://............................"
How to connect to this url.
Thank you very much for your help.

I took your advise on the second approach and added new filter to catch 302 response and read the new URL from Location. Here is the flow.
Connect to URL --> Is HTTP CODe =302 --> Retrieve Location from Http Header- Rewrite URL - Dynamic Router - Connection
I am getting a new error as below. I verified the certificates using the below open ssl comands and added them to the certificate store in OEG. The error comes from the Redirect URL which is cs12.salesforce.com

• ADF Mobile Error handling and redirect

I'm stuck on how to handle errors within my ADF Mobile application. My application consumes a number of web services and we have found we often get error messages when phone connections switch from wifi to 3g or lose connection altogether. These are errors such as SSL handshake failure, HTTP500 errors, and also errors where it can't display the binding eh "Unable to get value for the property due to invalid binding iterator" because a WS call has failed. From the little information I can find - and none of it specific to ADF Mobile, I think I need to write an error handler class which I set against ErrorHandlerClass in databinding.cpx - if that correct? Am I able to catch these errors using that method and if so has anyone got any examples at all. Ideally what I'd like to do when I've caught those errors is redirect to another page (showing something like facebooks app does when it loses a connection and says tap to try again), does anyone have any suggestions or examples?
thanks

• Model of how APEX handles data (values)?

Reference {thread:id=2486655}
I'm trying to get a model of how APEX handles data (values). There are several places(?) that data (values) can exist. Or so it seems. I'm trying to understand how these work -- to put all the pieces together.
Question:
A) Where data can be?
1) In the database
2) In the session
3) Rendered -- and hence displayed on the screen, if a displayed value -- but not in the session
4) In perhaps(?) some working memory pool(?) but different from the page rendered values I see on the screen?
5) Other?
Why do I think this is relevant?
Question:
B) If there are rendered values and session values different from the rendered values, then when code executes, which of these values (rendered or session) is it executing against?
And maybe the answer is, "You don't understand what's going on." Yes, "Exactly!" Hence the question.
Best wishes,
Howard

Howard (DBA in Training) wrote:
I'm putting this together now. For example:
I set the value of a Page Item (say, :P2_DATA) to "BEFORE" in a Before Region process and change it to "AFTER" in an After Region Process. 'BEFORE' was displayed on the screen but 'AFTER' was in the session state. So I see that PL/SQL changes these values in the session state. But it doesn't "go back" to change the HTML after the region has been rendered -- hence we see BEFORE shown on the screen. (I'll have to think about what a Dynamic Action does.)
Also, if a page item has a default value, say 'DEFAULT' then that value doesn't get into the session state. At least, not with my current settings. Oh, that explains a lot of confusion!! I suppose there's a logical reason for this but who would expect default values to be differently from other PL/SQL operations on the item?
Questions:
1) So why does a default value not get put into the session state?Several reasons, among them:
*1. When/why is the value required?* Region items (and thus their source and default values) are rendered in region/item sequence order. The item's source/default value would therefore not be available in session state until it's rendering point. This is frequently later in page show processing than the value is actually required, such as the common use case of including a data value in the page or region title. Setting the value in a Before Header/Regions computation or process makes it available as required before the item is actually rendered.
*2. The rendered page might not be submitted.* Default values are typically set when a page will create a new row. Consider the situation where the user clicks a "Create" button and is presented with an order entry form containing several default values. They then decide they don't want to create a new order after all, and navigate away from the form page via some mechanism that uses a redirect rather than a submit (such as a default "Cancel" button). This means that no page submit processing is performed, and generally that no session state management is performed. If the default values were set in session state, the order entry page would contain the default values for the non-existent order despite the user never submitting it. This may have unwanted side-effects if these values are referenced elsewhere in the application, and therefore would require extra session state management to be built into the application.
*3. A rendered item might not be submitted with the page.* Per the HTML specification, the values of disabled controls unchecked checkboxes are not POSTed on page submit. Consider a situation where a checkbox item is set with several default values, but the application requires that the checkboxes be cleared and disabled by a dynamic action if the user chooses certain options from a select list. In this case, on page submission no values are submitted into session state for the checkbox item. If the defaults had been set in session state, then the application would be in an inconsistent state, with the user-selected option indicating that none of the checkboxes were checked, but with session state holding values showing that they were. This would require additional processing to ensure that the application's state was consistent before saving it to the database.1
2 & 3 are particularly significant in basic wizard-generated applications. Doing things in this way, the wizard-generated DML and navigation "just works", without the need for additional session state management.
2) Is there a Page Item setting that causes the default value to be saved to the session state? No. Hopefully the explanations above provide sufficient reason to show why this is genearlly not desirable. On the rare occasions when it is required, set the session state value using a computation or process.
1 There are other reasons—mainly security related—that make it good practice to perform such checks in more complex and internet-facing applications anyway.

• RemotePayloadChangeEvent - how to handle

I have implemented a player for streaming media files. When I receive NewReceiveStreamEvent or ActiveReceiveStreamEvent, I get the DataSource from event's ReceiveStream, create a realized player and start it:
DataSource source = event.getReceiveStream().getDataSource();
Player player = Manager.createRealizedPlayer (source);
if (player.getState() != Player.Started)
player.start();
}When playback is done, i close the player. For most streams it works fine. Except for some streams, i get the RemotePayloadChangeEvent in the middle and I don't know how to handle it. If I ignore this event, audio playback stops. if I get the datasource and do start() on it, audio playback runs to completion, but I hear some background ticking noise.
I need help as to how best to handle this event.
Thanks in advance.
