How do I get the Adobe Flash Player 10 to Work (Windows XP SP3)?
I am a Premiere Elements user who occasionally exports the Timeline to Adobe Flash Video (.flv). And, occasionally I convert the .flv export to .swf with a free .flv to .swf converter. An installed Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 successfully plays back the .swf, and an installed Adobe Media Player 1.7 successfully plays back the .flv.
Right or wrong I got the idea that the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 was really a very old version of what is now the Adobe Flash Player. So, I decided it was time to update the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 to Adobe Flash Player 10. At this point, I have the following installed on my Windows XP SP3 computer via Adobe downloads:
Adobe Flash player 10 Active X
Adobe Flash player 10
Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5
The Adobe web site verification tells me that as well as the computer Control Panel Add/Remove program list.
But, no matter what I do, .flv insists on opening only with the Adobe Media Player 1.7 and the .swf only with the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0.
I have tried
a. browsing to another Open With choice
b. changing file association in folder options as well as a few uninstalls/reinstalls and have been unsuccessful in these attempts. At one point I thought that maybe uninstalling the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 would be an approach, but I cannot find it to uninstall it. I have looked in Program Files, Documents and Settings/Application Data, Local Drive/Windows/System32, tried the computer Search...all with no luck. My browsers are Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 2.0.0.20. The default browser is Firefox and all the appropriate "allows" are in place.
If anyone could point out the errors of my ways, I would appreciate it.
ATRI have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
This is what I did and what I believe I have:
1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.

“Scouting Book Collection Index” could not be handled because Numbers cannot open files in the “Numbers Document” format.
This file was created in 2002 in MSword but this had been forgotten.
When I went to open it.... (MSword) was not a program option on my laptop. For some reason, I assumed that either Pages or Numbers wouild open the file. How the file was created was forgotten and had no file Info, but I new that it was a table of valuable information.
The warning threw me off, because it led me to believe that it was a Numbers file. which Numbers would not open. A paradox.
I took the file to a laptop in OSXpanther with MSoffice and it opened in MSword. Problem Solved.

Need to learn how to create a slideshow in Flash
Hello All,
I'm new to Flash and I need to learn how to do a slideshow with exactly the same features as can be found in this link:

Just like at the link above, it needs to play through the slides automatically once the page is loaded, each slide needs to link to a specific URL, and I need controls similar to the boxes at the bottom so the viewer can click on any specific slide they wish to view (I'd like to have numbers in the boxes though). The transitions don't have to slide across like this. If a fade is easier, that would be fine.
Since I've looked online, but can't find any tutorials for doing this in Flash Professional, I think I'll pick up a book on Flash. There are some online tutorials that are close but nothing that is exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a particular book that covers creating this type of slide show with the links and controls exactly as I need it to be. I see these types of slide shows on a lot of sites now, so I'm hoping that maybe someone else on this forum has had to learn how to do this and can recommend a book they used?
I was looking at Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Classroom in a Book and it looked like it may be what I'm after, but I am rather cautious, as I don't want to end up with instructions that are close to what I am looking for, but not quite right.
Actually, I thought I'd be able to do this fairly easily with Flash Catalyst, so I updated to Adobe CS5 Design Premium. I found that Flash Catalyst can be used to create a slide show like this, but unfortunately it won't play automatically when the page loads and the viewer has to manually click through the slides, which is not what I need. I could be wrong, but from what I've read, I need Flash Builder to add code so the slide show will play automatically if I create it in Flash Catalyst. Since it's not an option for me to buy more software at this time, I've decided to learn how to do this in Flash Professional.
I really want to learn how to do this. I expect to go on and create more using Flash, but for now I just REALLY need to figure this slide show out.
If anyone can help out, I'd really appreciate it!

i'm sorry. it is a huge work to type this and will be confusing as hell. i'm already up to 1 full word page of explanation. Though i am able to do it, explaning it in full lengh is ... well.. very hard. Way harder than it is to make your flash itself.
I can however point you to some element you should read about how to make them:
- How to use timeline in flash cs4
- how to create a button in flash cs4
- How to make "CLASSIC TWEEN" in flash cs4
- How to use ActionScript 2 ( AS2) basic command like : GetUrl, Gotoandplay, Stop and how to put those script in the right location. ( AS2 allow you to put script directly on the button itself. however it is best to put it in the Action Layer that you will have to build in the timeline.
- How to import thing in library.
keep in mind that what you want to make is mostly a Logic probleme...
- Image 1 click = GetURL X,
- After Y time, Switch image 1 to image 2 with animation. Do the same for the button.
- If you click on button 1 while being on image 3, you have to set all the reverse animation in the timeline, and use a lot of Gotoandplay.

If you want the next date automaitcally filled in when you add a row to the bottom of the table, you can use a formula.
Here's an example, done in Numbers 2.3 (Numbers '09). The method is basically the same in Numbers 3.
Formulas in row 3:
B3: =B2+1
C3: =C2+7
D3: =D2+14
These have been filled down to the last row of the table.
The same table is shown below after three rows have been added by dragging the Row control handle (below the tab for row 7) down. No changes other than adding thse three rows were made by the user.
Note that rows 1 and 2 are header rows, and that row 2 contains the starting date for the seraies of date in each column. In the formula, the number at the end tells Numbers how many days to add to the previous date to get the next date.
Autofill of the formula requires that every non-header cell located above the cell into which the formula is to be filled contains the same formula.

It's looking like the phone company is going to split our area code in the next year or two. This is because there are not enough numbers left, so there's a good chance that one part of the geographical area using the current area code will be assigned a new 3-digit code.
I am trying to figure out how to handle this in my OSX, iOS and iCloud world. If I could select all the contacts with the existing area code and export them to a tab-delimited file, I'd stand a good chance of selecting the ones that need to be changed and then doing a "find and replace all" operation in Exel or Numbers. But I'm not seeing that as an option.
It would really be OK for me if there were "an app for that" so I could do the work on my iPad and let iCloud take care of my other devices. But I'm not seeing that as an option either.

Here we are facing the problem with msater data maintenance for employee in BW, whose employee numbers are same.
For example client 101 employee range is 10001 to 10100.
In client 102 also same employee range.Then how to handle the above scenario
Is there any solutions apart from compounding of infoobjets with logical system.

Load one client master data to the copied object.
Example:
1. Create ZEMPLOYEE copy of 0EMPLOYEE.
2. create the transformation or rules

Can't understand how Finder handles photos!
I would like to understand how finder handles photos because I switched from windows recently and can't understand some things.
First example, renaming lots of photos (without using iPhoto). I already have a automator action for renaming files, but if I have lots of photos with the numbers wrong, I wanted to organize the photos by date created and then rename them and get them in order. The problem is finder renames the files but with some order he chooses, and not the one I wanted. I know this happens because I select all the photos and he decides this way, but how can I do this my way!?
The second question is kinda related. If I open lots of photos in finder (using command+a and command+o), why do the photos that are open in preview are opened in an order finder chooses, even if I arrange my photos in different orders (kind, name, date, etc)?
I'm finding handling files in finder a little too much work to do, it was supposed to be a simple thing, just renaming or opening photos, because despite all his many weaknesses, windows worked kinda well with files, like pictures...Part of it depends on what criterion you have chosen to arrange the files in the Finder window: Name, Date Modified, Date Created, Size, Kind, Label. If by Name, I think the ones with numbers are ordered before letters.

Don't know how to handle this relationship
I am a college student and am having a hard time wrapping my head around the database I have to work with for a project. The project entails implementing an auto parts application. I have not encountered a relationship like this before. I have linked to a document I made to describe the table. It can be found here: http://91.121.116.152/graph.pdf. There are basically 4 tables in the database. There is 1 table for all the automakers. (MAKER). Then, there are many tables in the form of APL___ where ___ is a column for the MAKER Table. The APL tables contain all the different models and links to the different parts. The column RLINK references RADCRX which contains 16 different columns. Each set of 4 columns contains part numbers that link to a RAD___ (where ___ is a 3 letter abbr for a vendor).
I've done my best to explain it in English, but I think the document may help. Naturally the assignment is to find parts for a specified car. My problem is how do I do this as effciently as possible? I don't know how to handle a relationship where column name points to a table name, not a column in the table. It could be done with a very long join such as
SELECT * FROM RADMOD, RADCRX WHERE RADCRX.MOD1=RADMOD.P_NUMBER
or so on for each column in RADCRX. This doesn't seem right. I thought about doing joins on the tables, but I don't know how to do it. The DB as about 20K records. Does anyone have any insight?Try the ff solution if it works:

Now I'm developing the function about drag-drop source(image & text) from Panel Tree to the document.
I also have a look at the basic drag/drop & Panel Treeview, but all of them is not the source code mentions to how to handle the drop event, almost about drag event only.

Yes the field page n of m is used normally for printing page numbers. But it won't display the current page of total pages by itself. You have to set the run time property to n (current page ) and m (Total number of pages). Carefully select the # (current page ) and ## (Total number of pages). Hope this works for you.
My requirement is to have the user control on current page. For Example:
Example for a Invoice with 5 PO items (stands on 2 pages) :
1st page is the letter : no page number
2nd page is the 1st page of the 1st copy of the invoice : we should read u201C1 / 2u201D

Presently i cam getting the current page number for page 4th as 3 / 2 and for 5th page 4 / 2. I could able to control the total number of pages from print program. But when i am printing the second copy (4th and 5th pages), I couldn't able to control the current page number. I need to initialize the Current page count (4th page ) as 1.
I have used the follwing java scripting:

where wv_pages is total no of pages calculated from print program.

Its occurs because you're trying to access a objects with null reference. Or you forgot to create an instance or an error occurs during the instance creation. So You should put all your "Procedures and business logic" inside a Try/catch block. as follow.

How to handle null values in RTF templates
Hi - I have two groups in a report for different SQL and two formulas for each group, CF_ELE_CNT and CF_ELE_CNT1. In the template I use the below code to print or not print a section.
<?if:number(CF_ELE_CNT +CF_ELE_CNT1) >0?>
The problem is when there is no data in the second group its not creating the XML tag for CF_ELE_CNT1, though CF_ELE_CNT has 13, it still does not print that partucular section. If I remove CF_ELE_CNT1 from the condition it works fine. I was wondering how to handle this.
Any help would be appreciated!!

You can add a check to identify it the element/tag is present or not
<?if:(CF_ELE_CNT1)?> will give true, if the element is present otherwise falsesince you are adding the two elements, you have to add a or condition.
<?if:(CF_ELE_CNT and number(CF_ELE_CNT) >0 ) or ( CF_ELE_CNT1 and CF_ELE_CNT1 >0)?>
