How to handle "no internet connection"?

My app just got denied approval from the App Store. Here is what Apple said:
"The application works fine when connected to the Internet, however, when no Internet access is available (for example, in Airplane Mode), the application crashes upon opening. Instead of closing by crashing, the application should handle the absence of network access with an error message. The crash logs are attached for your inspection."
How do I detect no internet and then throw an error message up? I have never done anything like that before. Some sample code would be nice. Thanks!

If your carrier provides the service, go to Settings > General > Network > Personal Hotspot. If you don't see the Personal Hotspot option, then your carrier does not support it.

There are several ways to implement this using simple timing features of LabVIEW. Two fairly simple methods are comparing system time stamps or using the Wait VI provided in the Timing palette. The time stamp comparison requires a little bit more programming, but can be included in your main program loop. To use the Wait function, you will probably need to construct a new loop parallel to your main loop. I have attached screenshots of these two implementations. How can I share internet connection of iPad?

Under the following considerations:
- An iPad3 has established a 3G/4G data connection.
- There is a wireless access-point working.
- iPad is connected to that wireless access-point.
- There is a notebook (or desktop whatever) also connected to same wireless network.
... is it possible to share iPad's internet connection across the network and how?

I am not looking for iPad to perform like a wireless hot-spot. IMHO I am looking for a gateway/router application for iPad.

You can't.
If you don't want to use your local WiFi you could try using a mobile phone that allows you to create a personal hotspot.

i have ADSL modem broadband connection in which i have to connect to internet by establishing a connection by using following steps

I got an old eMac without wifi and a MacBook Pro. I'd like to share the network connection via ethernet cable to my eMac, but I can't get it work.
I'd like to use it with screenrecycler and it needs a network connection.

First, are you using Wifi for Internet on the MBP?
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list, Wifi on the MBP.
In Shating on both, enable File Sharing, Screen Sharing, & Web Sharing on both.
Then with the Ethernet cable between the two, find the IPs of both, or use Finder>Go>Connect to Server>Browse... see what shows up.

How can remove "MMS" Internet Connection

Hi, any one can help me I had installed fMMS and it also created "MMS" Internet connection. Then I had uninstalled fMMS but the MMS internet connection still exists. How can I remove this ?

The iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS support Internet tethering over a USB cable, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3574.
The iPod touch can connect over a Wi-Fi network, as mentioned here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2031.
If your PC has a wireless card, you may be able to create an Ad-Hoc Wi-Fi network that can share the Internet access to the iPod touch.
You can also get a wireless router, like an Airport base station http://www.apple.com/wifi/.

I am very new to the world of laptops, 3 days old. In fact, I have a desktop (the OS is XP professional) and have just bought my self a Satellite A200-1VG (the OS is Vista).
I believe it is possible for 2 machines to share a broadband connection, but how I do not know. I must confess to being quite ignorant when it comes to technology ( you have probably gathered that by now) and I ask that any advice given will be given in not too technological language.

Okay, firstly some routers or mdoems come with 2 ports on the back so you can connect two different computers so simply plug them both in
if not, then i advise you buy a router which allows you to add numerous computers to the same network via wires or add numerous computers wirelessly
i have one computer connect to my netgear router -wired
i have one computer wirelessly connected with a Netgear USB wireless reciever
then i got my laptop which is connected via wireless
i have xbox live which i connect to the internet via my laptops wireless connection, this can be done with any pc or laptop aswell
what you do is
wireless networks - where it showws any detected networks
change advanced options - on the side
advanced tab
then allow other computers to use this computers internet connection
simple as
all you do is plug in your other pc or whatever

I want to create an application which calculate the time of a Internet connection but I don't know how to detect it! Help me, thanks.

Not surprising since there is no such thing.
Connections only go from computer to computer. When you send email your computer connects to a computer. And it sends the email to it.
When you try to connect to www.yahoo.com your computer connects to a computer. It gets an address. Then it tries to connect to that address.
And every time I said 'connect' about there are very likely other "computers" involved in the transaction.
And if any of those devices fail then you won't connect.
Notice in the above that there is no "internet". There are just computers and connections.
So now that you know what is happening you will now know how to code your own solution.
Or you can provide more detail as to exactly what you are trying to determine so that a more specific answer can be given.

There is no such thing as a 'internet connection'. You don't connect to the internet, you connect to computers - like DSN servers, web servers etc.
Presumably you have a network. A client (browser) must connect to an application server to use a servlet. This is true even when running on the same box.
Your question is how to you connect to the web server? What application/web server are you running?

I have a modem connected to an old lynksis router. I have my desktop hooked in port 2 on the router and my laptop in port one..
The desktop's network map shows it connected to a switch(my router) and the switch to my laptop and the laptop to the internet..
Thus I have internet connection on my desktop
but my problem is that the network map on the laptop shows it connected to the switch and the switch to my desktop
thus no internet connection..
how do I connect the laptop to the internet as well as share files? I'm confused after fiddling around for an hour.
