How to handle PSW approval task in project server 2013 through declarative workflow VS 2013

Hello,
Plz explain in detail handling PSW approval task in project server 2013 through declarative workflow VS 2013
bcoz when using am posted on with this error when i try to approve the item
"This list item has not been created by the workflow.you cannot apply this content type"
any help would be appreciated!!!!

I am also experiencing issues with this. After the approval task is completed, the Workflow gets cancelled with the following message

All other desired workflow actions work as expected. Emails are sent, project is moved from stage to stage, however as soon as the workflow approval task is completed, either Approved or Rejected, the Internal Status is changed to Canceled and the
workflow fails.
What is interesting is when the Approval task is completed, the approver will receive an email notification that the task was CANCELLED or DELETED....
not COMPLETED, which is what would be expected.
Has anyone seen this - any potential resolution?

While performing Tasks approvals in MS Project 2010 I am getting below error message:
An Error Occured while processing one or more items. This was caused by one of the following:
A timesheet job is failed and blocking coorelation in the queue.
The approval item no longer exists or has already been approved
The host server is unreachable.

Hi, Can you give a bit more detail on how your generating the task approval. Are you going into myTasks and doing self assignment to your test project plans or are you generating these approvals via outlook or are you updating a timesheet and sending status?

Unfortunately, there is no configuration which allows having the actual total work in "my tasks" page. Note that you have the total for the period for each assignment in the column next to the "work" column. In case it doesn't suit
your need, I'd suggest to propose for example a simple report, otherwise a development could be quite complex and time consuming.

Hi Pedro,
You'll have to build a report for that. I'd suggest to start from one of the Excel Services sample report based on the timesheet OLAP cube. You'll easily be able to create a pivot table with timesheet per status, users, projects, periods, managers...
SSRS is another path which requires development.

Access permission to the Project server workflow tasks in project server 2013.

Hi All,
I am creating an OOB Project server workflow, where it contains few phases and each phases have some stages, there are few approval levels of the workflow.
Scenario - 1st stage - when project is submitted, a task is assigned to resource, when the resource click on the task link provided in mail, it redirects to the project server workflow task list.
1) When users view the task list, for all user the delete Item and approve button is enabled even we have given permission as edit,view permission in sharepoint group for that user.
2) Task list should be viewable by specific user but in my case even after giving the permission it can be apporved by any one who is not authorised also.
3) then i tried below things
1. deleted the user in pwa
2. deleted the user in sharepoint site.
even after doing the above, the user able to do all activity in the stie content page, have access to the sharepoint portal. how this is possible?
When checked with not existing user permission there are few defalut permission set for that user after AD sync. because of this he as access, even if he is not in pwa or in sharepoint site. how to retrict this?
Can anyone faced the same issue?
How to fix this permission issue?

And then when I pull data from the database, it is returning empty. For any other sharepoint list this

Email when approval are required - Project Server 2013

Hi everyone,
I've got a little question, is it possible to send an email when a new update appears in the "Approval Center" (PWA/Approvals.aspx) ? And if yes, how can I do this ?
I've tried with a workflow (in the "Project Server Workflow Tasks" list) but it does not seem to work.

Ditto on what Hrishi suggests.
I would use a SQL query that search new approvals and when it finds one, then send an email. After the query is written, use SSIS (Sql Server Integration Services) and create a job to manage this. There are probably several goods SQL
administrators that could set this up for you.

Hammock tasks and Project Server

I am trying to create a hammock task for a project that resides on Project Server.
(I am using Project 2013 and Project Server 2010)
I can create the hammock, but when I try to check in the file I get an error saying:
"Saving the file to the Project Web App will remove all links to resources in the file.
Do you want to continue?
To continue and lose all resource OLE or DDE links, click Yes."
How do I save the file and keep the links that create the hammock?

Hi Tim,
Evenif it isn't clear which version you are using (since 2010 and 2013 cannot be used together), it appears from your error message "Saving
the file to the Project Web App" that you are trying to create hammock tasks from PWA.
In case I'm right, note that you cannot edit/create OLE links from PWA, you need to use MS Project Pro for creating hammock tasks.

The portfolio feature is part of the out of the boxProject Server 2010 solution. Maybe you just have to unhide the links in the quick launch menu. It will not disturb any of your current configuration.

Create template for a task in Project Server 2013

Hi everyone,
I've got a little question, yes, again :-)
Some user of Project Server haven't scheduled tasks, so they need to create their tasks by the "My Tasks" page, "Add a row" then "Add a new task".
Unfortunatly, these users create a lot of little tasks but which are the same excepted for an information (like number of the bug ticket) and my bosses want to create a template of a task for create this kind of tasks very quickly but I do not find a way to
do that.
Is it possible with Project Server to do something like this ?

There is no default functionality in Project Server 2013 that would allow a team member to create a new task from some kind of custom template. It MIGHT be possible through custom software development, however. Hope this helps.

As far as I know, there is no such information stored in Project Server DB.
You can have this kind of information by project, such as the ProjectModifiedDate in the Reporting DB (MSP_EPMProject_userView). I also know that there is a PROJ_LAST_SAVED date in the Draft DB. But be aware that querying in the Draft DB is not supported
by MS.
Another way would be doing some custom code, storing in a separate DB each save and publish operation per user.

Let's verify the following:
Whether the issue exists in all of the users? Done a test with a user with full control permission, compare the results.
What is the current SP\CU version installed on Server? deploy the latest CU, compare the results.
Whether the issue exists in other browsers, done a test in another browser, compare the results.
Whether all resources experiencing this error.
"An Unknown Error has occurred" is a generic error message. Please check ULS log for more detail information about the issue.
In addition, as this issue is related to project server, I suggest you create a new thread on project server, more experts will assist you:

I was able to resolve my issue by installing KB2880963. I did not have any of the other updates mentioned installed, but it did resolve the issue.
Note: I did need to restart my servers.

BPEL Workflow Tasks - Assignees and how BPEL handles rejection of tasks.

So I am curious about the following:
1) When rejecting a task, can it go to the person that initiated the task? Or do we need to handle this through new tasks? Like in a while loop?
2) Can we specify users and groups when selecting a management chain?
3) How do we handle multilevel approvals? Seperate Tasks?
The management chain functionality seems interesting. I would like to be able to create a management chain task so that we specify the user (initiator), reviewGroup, approvalGroup. If the Reviewer Rejects, then it would go back to the user. If the Approver in the approvalGroup rejects it, it would go back to the reviewGroup.
This seems like standard type of functionality, but I don't think it is in this version of BPEL, or at least the JDev wizard interface.
Any thoughts, suggestions, insights?

While loop was the only way I could make this work... :) BPEL is pretty linear, not like a typical activity diagram...
