How to handle scadic letters & characters in sap PI?

HI experts,
i am working on file to idoc scenario using XSLT mapping in pi. My concern is to handle scadic letters and & character, messages will going with & character without any fail, if file encoding mode is ISO-8859-1 but if the file contains scadic letters file is failing in PI. If the file ecoding mode id binary then scadic letters will popules in idoc with out any fail but if the file has & character messages is failing in PI.
Please provide your inputs about how to handle this case?
Regards,
Uday.

Uday,
Please try UTF-8 encoding.
Please attach input file, XSLT and screenshots of error, it will help in better understand the issue.

  • How to handle data that got from SAP by Webservice?

    Hi, Gurus.
I am working on IFbA with ABAP and Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
I've developed a function module in R/3 system and created webservice, connected the WSDL address to the form. The problem is how can i handle data that got from SAP by Webservice?
It's Ok if i bind the dataconnection node to the form element, but how can i handle data without binding to the form element? I mean that how can i use the data retrieved from Webserivce in the Javascript, please give me some sample code or script method.
    Thanks.

    Hi Yang,
If you are using Web Service, then the binding will be done automatically.
It can't grow automatically, what else should i do to achieve this?
1.Select the table(make sure you are not selecting subform) in Hierarchy view
    2. Under table select the Row which is having the required fileds for data
    3. In the Binding of that row, check the checkbox "Repeat Row for each item data" and under that check the Min Count which will set the default row **** to 1

  • How to handle this payment scenario in SAP

    Hello Gurus,
Can anyone please help me with how we make this payment in SAP. Customer A is the alternate payer for Customer B. We gave customer B a credit memo. When customer A is making payments, customer A wants to use the credit memo assigned to customer B as a part of the total payment. How does this scenario be handled in SAP
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can use the Head office and Branch relationship then this should work . All the invoices/Credit memos get updated in the branch office and head office for reporting and at the time of receipt it can be made at the headoffice level

  • How to handle change of relation with SAP

    hi,
suppose i'm an employee of a SAP customer right now (meaning i have an S-ID), and then later on i'm employed by a different SAP customer, triggering a deactivation of my old S-ID, and the creation of a new S-ID, how would the transition of S-IDs be handled? would i find myself not able to login to my account (since naturally my email address would change too)?
or is my S-ID stuck with me for life?
honestly i wouldn't want this to happen (nor do i see this happening), but suppose it did, how would the powers that be handle this?
    ryan.

    hi Denis,
it depends what kind of data you're trying to delete:)
during the standard output (IDOC) of some documents
you can see a deletion indicator (action), there are also
some document which you can delete on the basis
of specific conditions - for example when somone
sets a rejection indicator in a document this might
mean that the document (or one of it's lines)
    was deleted
so basically it depends what kind of data you want
    to delete

  • How to Handle excise pass-on in SAP-B1 for Trading companies?

    Hiii Experts,
Currently, we have new project and our client is trading company. As a trading company, there is not any credit of excise will be taken. just pass-on of excise duty is done from vendor to customer as it is.
As per my knowledge, there is not any provision available in SAP-B1 to track the details of  excise pass-on. is there any way is available to handle this excise scenario's for trading clients??
Please, help me, it is very important to us.
    Regards
    Rahul Singh

    Hi Rahul,
Yes this can be customized in SBO with or without add-on.
First step would be understand the complete business process of  the customer and then map in SBO accordingly.
You would have to create many udf's at row level to capture the details at the time of purchase and you can use the same references at the time of sale of the item.
As I have mentioned before, it may take extensive customization, so you can decide whether you woudl like to create an add-on for it or woudl you like to handle this through SP, fms etc.
    Thanks,

  • How to handle preceding space characters in file to file(FCC on both sides)

    Hi All,
We have scenario with file to file (FCC on both sides).
Issue is: Sender side we are converting source file (CSV) into XML. But while converting it is ignoring preceding spaces.
    Example:
Suppose Source file(CSV) contains one record as mentioned below ( for ur understanding purpose I mentioned 'X' instead of space. )
    XXXXXXXXXX12345     78945  23548    23446
The above record is getting converted into XML as
    <text>12345     78945  23548    23446</text>
But we need the record to be converted into XML as mentioned below
    <text>XXXXXXXXXX12345     78945  23548    23446</text>
i.e we need spaces before "12345" also.
As both sender and receiver having same structure, we are not using any mapping also.
    Please suggest in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nagaraju

    Hi,
In your sender content conversion use the parameter:
    NameA.fieldContentFormatting     nothing

  • How to handle escape sequnce characters.

    hi,
when i upload file from html page to a servlet
I getting problem with escape sequence character ..
that ie .. wheni upload file from <input type=file name=flieUpload>in servlet
    String path=req.getparameter("fileUpload");
    File f=new File(path);here getting error,
    i think string contains c:\prgms\images\kk.gif
    but windows accept c:/:prgms/images/kk.gif
so what i have to do?

No, that's not how you do a file upload.
When you upload a file from HTML (assuming you have the correct HTML, which you probably don't) it's the contents of the file which is uploaded, not the name of the file.
You might also get the name of the file, but the server can't open the file using that name, because it's on a different computer. You have to process the contents of the request to get the uploaded data.
However since you don't have a clue what you are doing yet, you won't be able to do that. And nobody bothers to do it themselves any more because there's the Apache FileUpload package which takes care of all of the ugly details of HTTP.

  • How to handle special characters in NWDI

    Dear All
I am trying to update the Description from JSP form. Through JCO we are calling the RFC of ABAP. We are passing these description from Java to RFC of ABAP and this RFC update the text in Database.
We have noticed that if there is some special character in description like as : š or ž, complete description is not getting updated in to the SAP database.
Can anyone help me how to handle these special characters in Java. There may be N number of special characters. We want to generalize it. We want to replace these characters by s and z respectively.
For example : We want to update this description.
AP147. Poslati finalnu dokumentaciju za uvo&#273;enje paketa (implementacijsku instrukciju i sve popratne datoteke).
WHile updated text is as follows :
    APPLERR H'4301 H'FA03 H'254C na Zagreb TC4 rije
    N01TCADG-0052 u bloku UPDC vi
    Uspje
    sastanku isporu
AP147. Poslati finalnu dokumentaciju za uvo
    Regards
    Bhavishya

    Hi Bhavishya,
Apparently your SAP database isn't configured to support Unicode. That would be the first solution to your problem, but I can imagine it's a bit drastic to convert your DB.
A second solution would be to encode the input description to ASCII before storing it in the database. When reading from the database, decode again to Unicode. This way, no information is lost. A suitable encoding would be Base64. e.g.
    String description = "šunday žebra";
    String descriptionBase64 = new sun.misc.BASE64Encoder().encode(
      description.getBytes("UTF-8")); // ""
// store descriptionBase64 in the DB
// later, when reading descriptionBase64 from the DB
    String description2 = new String(
      new sun.misc.BASE64Decoder().decodeBuffer(descriptionBase64), "UTF-8");
Instead of using Sun's implementation, a better alternative is to use the open source implementation
    org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64 from Commons Codec .
The 3rd approach is indeed to normalize the description by replacing all special characters with their ASCII equivalent. A rather easy solution is as follows:
    String description = "šunday žebra";
    String descriptionNormalized = sun.text.Normalizer.normalize(
      description, sun.text.Normalizer.DECOMP, 0).replaceAll(
      "[^p{ASCII}]", "");
sun.text.Normalizer decomposes the string, e.g. "éàî" becomes "e´a`i^", after which non-ASCII characters are being removed using a regular expression.Again, note that it's usually a bad idea to use sun.* packages, see note about sun.* packages. The above code only works with J2SE 1.4 and J2SE 5.0, but it breaks in J2SE 6.0 (where
java.text.Normalizer became part of the public API ;-). A good open source implementation can be found here: ICU4J (com.ibm.icu.text.Normalizer).
    Kind regards,
    /Sigiswald

  • Regd: Handling of special characters in XML

    Hi ALL,
i am using java mapping to conevrt IDOC XML to Flat file using SAX parse and then reading the whole content into a single Filed, the output of the java mapping is the input for graphical mapping .
My problem is there may be some special characters  in the input IDOC. when ever these special characters come my java mapping is not able to Parse the IDOC.
Please let me know how can handle this special characters.
    Thanks,
    hemanth.

    Hi ,
Java has some characters reserved which is normally used to declare the Entity Name. To handle such kind of situations, you can replace these characters with these special characters, which get substituted automatically while parsing the XML file.
    Refer:
    http://www.javacommerce.com/displaypage.jsp?name=saxparser3.sql&id=18232
    I hope it helps.

  • Handling the context when integrating SAP with WBIMB

I need to integrate SAP systems with an integration platform that is based on WebSphere Message Broker 5 (WBIMB). Now I am looking for a feasible solution to integrate these platforms.
I am concerned about how to handle the context when integrating SAP with WBIMB.
I have read the topic “SAP XI and WBI adapters” (SAP XI  and WBI adapters) in this forum with interest. However, my requirements are slightly different, and my knowledge on development in SAP is limited.
The WBIMB integration platform acts as an Enterprise Service Bus in a SOA. We have a general requirement about guaranteed delivery i.e. once and only once, and therefore the transport protocol is MQ. The HTTP protocol does not satisfy this requirement. Thus we can use Web Services when they are carried as SOAP messages over MQ, but SOAP/HTTP is not acceptable.
The SAP systems can act as service provider as well as service consumer. The WBIMB act as an intermediary, which routes service requests to the proper provider and service responses back to the consumer.
When acting as a service consumer, the SAP system shall specify the context such that WBIMB is able to route the service request to the service provider. Routing is based on the context, which is specified as a property in the MQRFH2 usr folder. Thus the MQ message containing the service request from the SAP system shall specify this usr property, and the value will depend on the requested service. In JMS, the value can be set by calling the TextMessage.setStringProperty method e.g. as TextMessage.setStringProperty(“MyContext”, “XYZ”).
When acting as a service provider, the SAP system shall pass the context from the request back in the response message to WBIMB. Actually, I want to pass the complete usr folder from request to response, because it contains more information than just the context property.
I need answers to the questions:
    1. How can I set the context from SAP when it acts as service consumer?
    2. How can I get SAP to pass the context (MQRFH2 usr folder) from request to response when it acts as service provider?
    3. I have looked at the SAP XI JMS Adapter. It looks as I can set additional JMS parameters. But the property value will depend on which service to call. Do I need to setup a JMS Adapter per service or can I set the value dynamically?
    4. Can the SAP XI JMS Adapter pass the context from request to response?
    5. Are there better alternatives than using the SAP XI JMS Adapter?
Many thanks for any help you can give me in advance.

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your answer. I expected it would turn out this way
So the good news is that when SAP is acting as service consumer it sounds fairly easy to set up a mapping from XI message to MQ context.
But when SAP acts as service provider it sounds as more customisation is required and I am worried about having to save the state. It will hit performance when the context is not carried as part of the message. In this case I prefer to use a generic solution on WBIMB, where I can handle the context for SAP (as well as other service providers). Then I only depend on the ability to set correlation in the response. But it will still cost performance because WBIMB also has to save the state on temporary MQ queue.
Ideally, the SAP XI/Adapter should be able to pass the context 'out-of-the-box' to better support intermediaries like the WBIMB as ESB. I put this on my wishlist
Anyway, I appreciate that you was able to confirm my observations.
    BR
    Allan

  • How to handle special character in SAP CRM

    Hi all,
I am facing a problem on SAP CRM Web UI - Contact Creation - When a special character is inserted on address fields of Business
Partner (e.g. ` ~ ^ etc.), the interface does not understand this character and changes it to a TRIANGLE on pressing enter key.
Kindly guide as how to handle it or something is missing in terms of (note or patch).
I am running on SAP CRM 7.0
    Thanks,
    Pradeep Singh Dhadwal

    Hi Pradeep.
At the end of the day, a character is stored as a byte sequence on disk, and a code page defines the mapping between the byte sequence and any given character. The code page determines what character you can see and enter, therefore different code pages map different characters to the same byte sequence.
I suggest you to first check if your system is a Unicode system by checking the System menu->Status option->Unicode system field. I'll assume it is.
Then, please run report RSCP0018 (optionally also RSCPINST and then select Current NLS config pushbutton).
These reports will show you the actual configuration of languages and code pages of your Application Server. Please check that the correct languages and code pages are configured. If you need to know more about code pages configuration, please check Note 42305, which explains pretty well the whole process.
    Kind regards, and good luck.
