How to handle Two independent unit of measure in IS Retail

Hi
The requirement is, for few articles need to maintain Inventory in two different independent unit of measure i.e. in Each (EA) as well in Kilogram(KG).
It is understood from the SAP documents that the above scenario can be handled through u201CCatch Weight Managementu201D function.
We have already activated IS Retail in the system, is it possible to activate u201CCatch Weight Managementu201D function also in the existinng system?

Hi,
According to the functional restrictions documented by SAP, CWM can only be activated and used in the industry version of SAP ERP. Within an SAP ERP system which is used as a Retail-system, CWM cannot be used.

Hi Naga,
Are you talking about Qty Unit conversion. We can surely maintain CAR,EA,PAL and all. The Numerator and Denoms are maintained in T006. And accordingly the conversion happens.
Apart from that you can have your own customized Qty conversion using Transaction 'RSUOM'.

Hi Folk,
Could you please help me ?
Some of our materials booked in stock are purchased by our purchasing department in Europe but as well by our purchasing department in US.
The base unit of measure of those materials are defined with KG (kilogram) in the masterdata file (MM01).
Why this is not allowed to enter a purchase requisition (ME51N) with other unit of measure than KG? My purchasing department in US is not able to work with kilogram and thus they need to enter the requisition with US units of measure (pounds).
However when we create purchase orders, we can play with other units of measure.
Does someone can explain to me how to create a PR with a unit of measure different from the default one? Or could you share your experience to bypass this issue. Note that we really would like to have the same material number both for Europe and US (with different plants and storage locations).

Thanks for your answer to my question. I have tried what you suggested and 'metric' was already set as the default so unfortunately, it has not solved my problem which is when I set the dimensions for the print size before printing, I have to change from 'inches' to 'cms' for each photo every time. I was hoping that I would be able to set 'cms' as the default.

I am trying to implement the unit conversion ..i have few basic questions..
1)Do we need to have the 0MAT_UNIT in the cube/ODS
2)for 0material do i specifically need the base unit of measure as unit for the attribute conversion factor..
How do i go ahead if my conversion factor has a different unit..
3)In my scenario i am trying to do unit conversion on a keyfigure which has unit as billing qty in SKU..Do I need to do anything different in this case in order to convert to a diff unit..
Had changed the code given in the how to do doc..The report gave all the values as zero.
Pl suggest.

I am using BW 3.5 .
Loaded/activated both 0material and omat_unit.
0MAT_UNIT is not maintained in the ODS/CUBE.
The keyfigure i am trying to convert to alternate unit of measure is billing qty in SKU which has billing qty in SKU
as unit to that quantity..
The user input variable for alternate unit of measure is defined on the unit billing qty in SKU..
when i debug it is not processing through this loop..

i am creating 2 radio buttons on the initial screen of a modulepool program, here i am unable ot handle those 2 radio buttons.
when executing by default these two radio buttons are selected.

In the Screen Painter, highlight both radio buttons at the same time (using CNTL key).
From menu bar, choose: Edit > Grouping > Radio Button Group > Define.
Now they are "linked" to each other.
Don;t forget those points.

transaction MASS -> Object BUS1001"Material" -> table MARM "Units of Measure for Material", though it is usefull only for changes of conversion factors. Otherwise, it's time for LSMW/BatchInput/Catt, what ever you prefers.

How to create two independent index in the same RH project?

Hello everyone
I used Rh html 9.
I created a new index in my project to have two independent and different index, but the two index are connected. When I deleted one word in the new index, the same word is deleted in the first index.
When I've created the second index, I didn't choose the option "from an existing index", because I wanted a new and empty index but RH created a copy of the existing index and linked with the existing index.
It is possible toc reate a lot of different table of content and glossary but not different index ?
If someone can explain me why it doesn't work for index.

Hi there
If you click File > Project Settings > General tab, is the index set to have keywords in Topics or the Index file (HHK)?
If it's set for Index file (HHK) that would likely explain it because the keywords are stored directly inside the topics themselves.
If the setting is already for Index file (HHK) I'm a bit stumped and can only fathom that maybe you have stumbled across a bit of a RoboHelp bug. I've not tried using multiple indexes before. Perhaps I should try and see.

How to handle two main screens in one program.?

How to Report on Alternate Unit of Measure

Hi All,
    We recently implemented SAP for our Canadian operations. The Canadians want to see all our custom and standard reports in Alternate units of measure ( KG's & Ltr's ) but our reports only display in Lbs & Gal's. We were able to change our custom reports but is there any setting that SAP provides for the standard reports/transactions to display Alt UoM. We don't want to rush in and start changing standard reports. I'm sure, lot of you faced this situation before.

In our scenario for Articles, Client work with kg, but also want to keep track of the number of pieces.
I am trying to MAP this Process using Batch Specific Unit of Measure functionality in IS-Retail.
Is it Possible to Use the Batch Specific Unit of Measure functionality in IS-Retail System.
In Article Master, I couldnt find any "Classification View" or "Proportion/Product unit" Tab.
Also is it possible to capture the Batch Characteristics through Interface ???

Does anybody know how to run two independent instances of Calendar simultaneously?

I've enabled the Debug mode, and have 2 windows open at the same time but can't get them to operate independently. Anybody done this?
The situation is that I work for a music school that uses iCal to keep track of music lessons for multiple tutors in real time, which sync to relevant tutor's iphones. We've just opened a second premises and would like to use the same system, but be able to monitor everything from either school.
Debug mode will let me run two instances of Calendar simultaneously, but removing tutors' calendars from one of the Calendar windows removes them from the other.
Basically I need one Calendar window open for each school, and for them to be independent from each other.
Any takers?

How about creating a new "Calendar" with in the same Calendar app?
Calendar App---> File---> New Calendar
Name each Calendar for each business location. Example if the original location is on Main St, name that Calendar Main St and the second on Broadway, name that calendar Broadway.
The other solution could be the same as above, but File---> New Calendar subscription. But I have no idea how that works though.

Handling two independent failover groups in a remote shared subnet env.

I have have two Sun Ray(server) failover groups, both on the same subnet.
The first group offers a Solaris desktop and the other SLES 10.
Some of my end users prefer Linux and some prefer Solaris.
How can I direct a Linux user to my SLES Sun Ray server and how can I direct a Solaris user to my Solaris installation?
All of the Sun Ray clients are on the same client subnet, and the client subnet are separated form the Sun Ray server subnet by a firewall. I have a DHCP server on the primary Solaris Sun Ray server and a DHCP server on the primary SLES Sun Ray server.
Further I have two DHCP helpers on the client subnet, each pointing to one of the DHCP servers.
We are using smartcards, are there any way I can "add" a preferece to the token?
My initial idea was to mix all four (2 x Solaris and 2 x Linux) in the same failover group, but some place I have read that it is not smart to mix Solaris and Linux in the same failover group.
Can I use the "pop up GUI" feature on the clients to configure any prefered server?
