How to have a smooth interface.

Hello
I am trying to smooth out the interface of Premiere 9 Elements. I downloaded this last week and was taken back how laggy the interface was, rendering, browsing themes, etc. So I thought my ram was too low so I bought 4 more gigs of it. Nothing. Anybody have an idea to get a smoother interface?
My comp specs are
ATi 5770
AMD Phenom x4 II 940 3ghz
8gig ram ddr2 1000
Dual screen with 32" vizio and 19" Dell
Please help!

Well, a lot depends on the type of video you're using for source video and how your project is set up.
Also, running such a huge monitor can also leach a lot of power from your system.
What type of camcorder did your video come from? When you started your Premiere Elements project, which preset did you select?
Also, have you gone to Windows Update manually and ensured you have even the non-critical updates? Which operating system are your using and, if Vista or Windows 7, what is your User Experience rating?
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415316?tstart=30
Are you running more than one hard drive? If so, have you ensured that your second drive is properly formatted and set up?
Also note that the 64-bit version of Windows 7 will not perform as efficiently as the 32-bit version when running this program -- ironically. But it has to do with the fact that the 64-bit version has a number of drivers that do not interface well with the program.
Have you got the latest version of Quicktime from Apple?
Which antivirus program are you using? McAfee and especially Norton are notorious for reducing the efficiency of a computer. AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials (both free) will do a much better job, cheaper and more efficiently.
And, finally, have you cleared your tmp files and spyware and defragmented your drive(s)? Even brand new computers are loaded with junk and heavily fragmented.
My books go into much more detail on optimizing and maintaining your computer for video editing.

  • How can I have an english interface to labview if the package is in german

    Hi ,
    I'm a student that makes a project in Germany using labview ... the problem is that my german is not that good , and the labview is in german so here is my question :
    how can I have an  english interface to labview if the package is in german (labview 7 )
    Any help would be apprecieted.

    The only way to really have everything in English is to install an English version of LabVIEW.  You may want to talk to your local NI sales representative about the possibility of getting a different version.

  • How to have the JTA transaction in ServiceEndpoint interface java method

    Hi,
    I have query how to have the JTA transaction in SEI(Service endpoint interface) generated by WSDL.
    I have a MDMListener (using MDM API) which looks for a recordchange in MDM repository which needs to be send to PI7.1 via soap request.
    1) I had imported the WSDL from ESR(PI) and generated outside-in proxy.
    2) Created ejb3.0 stateless session bean using NWDS
    3) Created web service client application by generating the WSDL again (by Generate client)
    4)Added a method callPI()with Service and i set the context with endpointaddress property as the soap location of the sender agreement configured in PI7.1.
    The damean thread listener(EventDispatcher) looks for MDM record change and it calls the method callPI() from ejbsession bean by lookup to transfer the record to PI7.1 system via webservices(web method). I hit the below error.
    Exception com.sap.engine.services.ts.exceptions.BaseIllegalStateException: Status of ( SAP J2EE Engine JTA Transaction : 06223ffffffa20048fffffffe ) should be active, but it is STATUS_COMMITTED = 3.

    I tried chanding the transactionmanagement from container to bean.

    ut.begin() & ut.commit(),so that everytime this method is called it will treat as a new transaction..
    Let me know if you need more details??,Any idea provided would be great.
    Thanks

    Hello everybody,
    The issue resolved,we need to have the bean management transaction type and not the container.
    and the transactionattribute value as Requires New

  • How to find out in program which all classes have implemented an interface

    Hello,
    I have created an interface and few classes are implementing the interface.
    I want to know in a program which all class have implemented the interface.
    Is it possible to find it out and how?
    Regards,
    Bikash.

    Hi Bikash,
    Read the Database view VSEOIMPLEM with where condition REFCLSNAME = Interface Name and version = 1.
    This would give you all the classes which have implemented the interface and are active...
    If you want to look at the values that the field version can have then see Type Group SEOC ans search for version....
    Hope this help...

Then I split the array in two and found the centers of each half. That gives you the position of the two spots. This program won't work if the spots are too close to each other or are separeted in the other axis.

    How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10
    Hi Java Specialist,
    I am trying to setup a network interface with the following steps on a new fresh Solaris 10 installation using the instruction titled How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10 3/05 ONLY from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/816-4554/esxhb/index.html:
    1. # ifconfig lo0 plumb up
    2. # ifconfig lo0 10.56.8.101 netmask 255.255.240.0. This was the working Windows DHCP environment prior to installing Solaris
    10 on top of it.
    3. # Added saturn to /etc/hostname.lo0.
    4. # Added 10.56.8.101 to /etc/inet/hosts
    5. # Added 10.56.0.0     255.255.240.0 to /etc/inet/netmasks
    6.# reboot
    However, the following errors kept recurring:
    svcs –xv …. unable to qualify my own domain name,
    failed with exit status 69.
    Any idea on what other steps have I missed? I was hoping to only do step 3 – 6 for the change to apply permanently.
    Many thanks,
    Jack

    Hi Java Specialist,... in a Solaris forum?
    1. # ifconfig lo0 plumb upThe loopback connection (your lo0)is NOT a physical interface. There are no hardware components for it. Nor can I think of any reason why it should ever be anything other than the default 127.0.0.1
    Use your favorite Internet search site (such as Google, Bing, Yahoo) to learn more about it.
    2. # ifconfig lo0 10.56.8.101 netmask 255.255.240.0. This was the working Windows DHCP environment ...I have no idea how a nonexistent software construct gets a DHCP address in a MS Operating System, unless you are confusing this with the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" which is an utterly different concept. Again, go see what Google tells you.
    <br>
    <br>
    <br>
    ... completely unrelated to configuring an IP...
    unable to qualify my own domain nameAgain, search the Internet or even search these forums with that string of words.
    Go back through your two most recent posts and read the responses again.
    They seem to both be on the same topic as this new one -- configuring an IP on something.
    How to initialize new IP address on secondary interface permanently
    How to change IP address permanently on Solaris 10
    When you've done all that, then come back and tell us what you are actually trying to do.

  • How to refer to genericized interface

    Hi,
    I have the following interface:
    package org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.server;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.RpcRequest;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.RpcRequestException;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.RpcRequestService;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.RpcResponse;
    public interface RpcRequestHandler<ReqT extends RpcRequest<ResT>, ResT extends RpcResponse>
    public boolean isCompatibleWith(Class<ReqT> rpcRequestClass);
    public ResT execute(ReqT rpcRequest)
    throws RpcRequestException;
    }I also have a dummy implementation of this interface:
    package org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.server;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.DummyRpcRequest;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.DummyRpcResponse;
    import org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser.RpcRequestException;
    public class NewDummyRequestHandler
    implements RpcRequestHandler<DummyRpcRequest, DummyRpcResponse>
    @Override
    public DummyRpcResponse execute(DummyRpcRequest rpcRequest)
    throws RpcRequestException
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    return null;
    @Override
    public boolean isCompatibleWith(Class<DummyRpcRequest> rpcRequestClass)
    if (DummyRpcRequest.class == rpcRequestClass)
    return true;
    return false;
    }This interface refers to 2 dummy objects DummyRpcRequest and DummyRpcResponse. There is nothing special about them. They are just regular beans that implement marker interfaces (RpcResponse and RpcRequest<T extends RpcResponse>).
    DummyRpcResponse:
    package org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser;
    @SuppressWarnings("serial")
    public class DummyRpcResponse
    implements RpcResponse
    }DummyRpcRequest:
    package org.tbiq.gwt.tools.rpcrequest.browser;
    @SuppressWarnings("serial")
    public class DummyRpcRequest
    implements RpcRequest<DummyRpcResponse>
    }Somewhere else, I have a class that implements some other interface. Part of implementing that interface is this method:
    @Override
    public <T extends RpcResponse> T execute(RpcRequest<T> rpcRequest)
    throws RpcRequestException
    RpcRequestHandler<??????> handler = new NewDummyRequestHandler();
    return handler.execute(rpcRequest);
    }So, the '?????' is my question. How do I refer to the handler such that it compiles. Right now, now matter what I try in that line, the handler.execute(rpcRequest) doesn't compile.
    Also, it's possible that I messed up my RpcRequestHandler interface and defined it in a wrong way (as far as generics are concerned). I am not sure.
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Yaakov.
    P.S. The code in the last method is obviously for testing only. I am planning to have a Map of those handlers and choose the handler dynamically based on the type of the RpcRequest that is passed into the execute method.
    Edited by: ychaikin on Feb 23, 2010 1:10 PM

    Had a play round some more with this to refresh my knowledge, and understand exactly where you're coming from
    I don't know what your RpcRequest and RpcResponse interfaces look like - although since your concrete implementations DummyRpcRequest and DummyRpcResponse don't implement any methods, I guess that means that the two interfaces are blank.
    The fact that the RpcRequest takes a parameter of a subclass of RpcResponse, though, implies that there's some sort of relationship there. Perhaps, in future, you intend to have a method sig in RpcRequest that say, returns a subclass of (the type of RpcResponse you created the concrete implementation of RpcRequest with). It's hard to offer more suggestions without knowing exactly what you intend with this code.
    A handler takes a RpcRequest<RpcResponse>, runs its execute method, and somehow (depending on implementation) returns an RpcResponse.
    So I tested some code which I guess summarises your situation, and which works okay - if you want, you can blat this all into a file Test.java and compile/run it in textpad.
    interface Response {
         String message();
    class SpecificResponse implements Response {
         public String message() { return "Why hello there!"; }
    interface Request<E extends Response> {}
    /* This Request subclass stores a canned, fixed Response object. */
    class StoredResponseRequest<E extends Response> implements Request<E> {
         private E myResponse;
         public StoredResponseRequest(E useThis) {
              myResponse = useThis;
          public E getStoredResponse() {
              return myResponse;
    /* A handler <B, A> is able to take in a B (extends Request<A>), and return an A. */
    interface Handler<B extends Request<A>, A extends Response> {
         public A execute(B request);
    /* A HandlerForStoredResponseRequests works by assuming that all the Request<A>s it gets passed are, in fact,
         StoredResponseRequest<A>s. It therefore extracts the necessary A from the object and returns it.  */
    class HandlerForStoredResponseRequests <B extends Request<A>, A extends Response> implements Handler<B, A> {
         public A execute(B sreq) {
              return ((StoredResponseRequest<A>)sreq).getStoredResponse();
    class Test {
         public static void main(String[] argz) {
              Request<Response> request = new StoredResponseRequest<Response>(new SpecificResponse());
              System.out.println( execute(request).message() );
         public static <T extends Request<E>, E extends Response> E execute(T request) {
              Handler<T, E> stuffHandler = new HandlerForStoredResponseRequests<T, E>();
              return stuffHandler.execute(request);
    }

  • [SOLVED] How to create a wlan0 interface?

    Hello:
    I'm getting a lot of problem with my wireless card, as you can see in this post (unsolved).
    I installed the supposedly driver for my wireless card without result. Installed "WICD" -installed networkmanager, but never achieved to initialize the GUI- and just see my wired connections, not the wireless, mine or from others.
    I'm just wondering if the problem is that I do not have a "wlan0" interface in my "/etc/rc.conf". If that  is true, could I create one by myself? In the wiki there are many pages (wireless setup, beginners guide, etc) that makes some dispersion in the information and it is difficult to me to follow -and evaluate- That's why I'm asking for your support.
    My actual rc.conf -selected parts- is -notice that because WICD there are some "!", as the wiki suggested -:

    I know this is not what you expect as a reply but anyway... I recently bought a very nice machine which is a Thinkpad x201i (the cheap version of the x201), great build quality, affordable price, perfect size and enough processing power. The problem is that it came with a realtek 8192se wireless card. It's everywhere on the internet: the driver sucks and it's only supplied by the vendor (so not in kernel tree, not even in staging). it costed me few bucks and 20 minutes of my time to replace it with an intel centrino advanced 6200N, I guess the Intel Centrino-N 1000 is even cheaper (saw it at less than USD15 on amazon). You'll get in-tree kernel drivers, injection support and all that fun stuff... I was happy to pay the extra money just thinking about the endless frustration I would have gotten with the realtek card. Not that compiling a driver makes me scared, but using a crappy driver is a pain.

  • How to change the Ethernet Interface name in Solaris 10

    I have to install Oracle 10G RAC on three nodes with different ethernet cards, but the ethernet interface name must be the same which is the precondition for Oracle RAC installation.
    So I want to know how can I change the ethernet name in Solaris.
    For example, the ethernet name in the OS is "ce0", how can i change the interface name "ce0" to "e1000g0".
    bash-3.00# dladm show-dev
    ce0 link: unknown speed: 1000 Mbps duplex: full
    ce1 link: unknown speed: 100 Mbps duplex: half
    ce2 link: unknown speed: 100 Mbps duplex: half
    ce3 link: unknown speed: 100 Mbps duplex: half
    ce4 link: unknown speed: 100 Mbps duplex: half
    ce5 link: unknown speed: 0 Mbps duplex: unknown
    Thanks in advance.

    You can't. The ce or e1000g refers to the driver as well as the adapter itself. The only exception I am aware of is: the ipge and e1000g which both refer to the Intel Pro 1000.I'm pretty sure I've renamed a driver in the past (and all references to it in name_to_major, path_to_inst, driver_aliases, and minor_perm) and had it function just fine after 'plumb'ing it up. However I just tested this by trying to turn a 'pcn' driver into a 'foobar' driver on a vmware box. It looks like everything works except some internal bits of the driver continue to create one file with 'pcn' in the name instead of 'foobar'. And since this is Solaris 10, the /devices filesystem is dynamic and read-only. I can't seem to force the change.
    So while this may be possible with some drivers (and maybe only on older versions of the OS), it doesn't seem to be generally possible for all drivers on Solaris 10.

  • How to avoid long user interface response time in long measurements ?

    Hi
    I tried to find more information regarding techniques how to avoid long user interface response times in case of extremely long measurement times with an external instrument communicating over GPIB, so I post this hoping to get some hint or a link to a guideline. I guess this is quite normal problem.
    Problem is that when I want to measure long time in order to get an average result from the instrument, I have to wait until the result is returned from the instrument. Obviously that makes the user interface response very slow in traditional technique.
    My restriction is the old GPIB 488 instrument driver that I would not want to modify, but I have source code to it.
    What would be the best way to improve the response time for user interface ? I have looked into the few things:
    * multithreading
    * callback in main program for GPIB events
    * modifying instrument driver e.g. to support VISA and creating a VISA callback
    regards,
    Petri

    Several ways to do this:
    If you're getting several measurements, you could have the instrument generate an asynchronous interrupt (an "SRQ" in GPIB terms), then collect the data in response to the SRQ callback.  While you're waiting for the SRQ's, you can have your main thread running the interface so responsive GUI.  You don't have to spinlock on the GPIB read waiting for instrument data.
    Or, as you mentioned, you could spawn a thread to manage the measurements, and use a timer in the main thread to periodically allow you to check the status of the measurement thread.  Again, the main thread mostly just runs the user interface.
    Either way, the idea is to keep the main thread freed up most of the time to run the GUI, and have it periodically check for completion of your measurement sequence.  While you're waiting in the main thread, you may want to make sure the user can't inadvertently re-trigger another measurement sequence until the active one is complete.
    If you do find yourself doing a dead wait, you'd want to break this up into a series of shorter waits, and in between each wait, do a ProcessSystemEvents from the main thread to keep the GUI active.

    Hi Sudhir,
    I have tried as you mentioned, but still its not working. Below i am providing my inbound payload.

  • How to have a mandatory field in a search help

    Hi,
    i have created a search help and one of the field need to be mandatory.
    can anyone tell me how to have a field as mandatory in a search help?
    thanks
    Regards,
    Nitin

    Hi Buantoa  ,
      You can use a search help exit for the same , so when ever a user does not enter the mandatory feild and tries to execute the serach help an error message will be displayed.
    Create a search help exit for your search help and write code to check for your feild.
    I tried to do the same and it works
    Here is the code for my serach help exit
      if callcontrol-step = 'SELONE'.
    data : wa_1 type ddshiface.
    loop at shlp-interface into wa_1.
      if wa_1-shlpfield = 'MATNR'.
        if wa_1-value is initial.
           message e999.
        endif.
      endif.
    endloop.
      endif.
    Do revert back in case of any further queries.
    Regards
    Arun
