How to have Distiller as a printer?

Hi there,
I am wondering if there is a way to make Distiller a printer on a local machine? One staff member has got that and they dont know how it got there and we are all keen to have it as it will help to maintain the integrity of our company logo when printing or converting to PDF.
I would appreciate any insight or help.

Thank you very much for your help on that matter.
It has been helpful. We do have volume licenses and we have to install it on each machine, we purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro v9 and it shows we have distiller but doesnt seem to show it as a printer but if it is working in the background of the PDF printer then thats fine.
Our staff member that has it on their machine it shows up as a printer in their printer settings and i think they have an old version of distiller so that might be why they have it and the rest of us dont.
There is no other way to get it with Adobe Pro v9?

How to have only single pages printed from iphoto book

I would like to know if it is possible to have pages printed from an iphoto book that is not bound. I just want the loose pages to create an ongoing scrapbook not an already bound book. Is this possible?

If you print yourself one way to do it is to start to print the whole book by typing Command+P. Then in the print window select either All, Single or Range and then put in the page numbers you want to print. Then click on the PDF button and select Save PDF to iPhoto from the drop down menu.

This will create a 200 dpi jpg file for the page and import it into iPhoto. From there you can print it yourself or have a local photofinisher print it on whatever stock you'd like.

How to have column headings re-print on next page when printing?

When I make a document in Numbers '08, that requires more than one page, how do I get the column headings to print on the other pages?
I have looked at 'Print View', but cannot edit what I see. Please help!

I no longer use Numbers '08 but if I remember well, the soluce is to activate the "Show Print View" mode from the View icon available on the left edge of the toolbar.
It offer:
Show/Hide Print View
Show/Hide Layout
Show/Hide Rulers
Show/Hide Format Bar

Lookout: How to have the Client automatically print the alarms from the server process?

Before we switched to using servers and clients, the server computer would print all alarms. Now we have switched to having 2 servers and many clients. We would like to have Lookout print automatically all of the alarms as they occure or reset.

Lookout client cannot automatically print the alarm to printer. I'm sorry that lookout client doesn't have this feature.
My suggestion is to set up the printer beside the server computer and print the alarms automatically by lookout server.

Firefox generally displays the printers in Windows' Printers folder (Start orb > Devices and Printers). If it is missing one of the printers listed there, could you indicate which one it is, for example, Adobe Distiller, PrimoPDF, CutePDF Writer, etc.?
If you previously had an add-on which added print-to-PDF functionality just to Firefox, perhaps it got disabled. You could check here:

Also, are you really running Firefox 8.0.1? That version from last November is no longer secure and has been superseded by Firefox 11. If you browse the web widely, you should update for your security.

Check the printer itself. Some printers you need to set the color & B&W settings on the printer itself instead of the Mac. If that is not the case w/your printer, contact HP tech support and/or post in their forums if they have one.

you could see if that make of printer has an uninstaller (may come with the installer)
or go to preferences, print and fax, and press the minus key ( - ) which should maybe remove it. Or ,do a a find, then type in the make of printer, and anything that looks like a printer driver for that make, well, maybe it's gotta go

Im not exactly sure what you mean by color profile..can you specify? So i have a dslr canon and take great portraits and tune them to exactly how I want them to look, they dont print at all like the colors presented on my screen. If i antique them then they print yellowish. Ive even tried printing them at walgreens because i thought it was my new printer. Hp hasnt let me doown til now. Is ot a printer setting? How to have "black and white only" be the default print option

Just installed a new printer and would like to set it up so that the default print option is black and white only. How do I do this?

Every printer is a little different so you may have to do some searching through the settings. I don't have an HP Photosmart C6100 here so I can't say for sure where the setting is for that printer.
The closest thing I have to that model printer here is an HP OfficeJet 6310
In that model you choose Paper Type/Quality
In drop down menu under Color you select Gray Scale
Then you can still save the preset as I described in my previous post.
If the C6100 is different than that you may just have to search through option pages and explore the drop down selections.
Which I could be more specific, but they are all a little different.

Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:
Open HP Solution Center , select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
Open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and choose Properties . Click Printing Preferences . Click the Features tab, then click the Printer Services button.
The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge may be running out of ink even if the graphic shows ink remaining (see the note at the start of this section). Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink.
