How to have internal email scanned by external MTA.

Hi, Guys
For exchange 2013/ exchange online, I know it is easier to have external scanner to scan inbound/outbound email , but i don't know if it is possible to have internal email was scanned by external MTA before deliver to internal
recipients. anyone know how to  achieve this and if the MTA can change email content?
please advice urgent from where this can be done , thanks very much!!

Hi Tony,
According to your description, I understand that you want to use MTA to scan internal message to ensure security.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
What’s the meaning of MTA? Message Transfer Agent or the term "MTA" to mean what Exchange refers to as the "Transport”? Transport service handle message routing, more details about Mail Flow, for your reference:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996349(v=exchg.150).aspx#TransportPipeline
The internal message never leave Exchange Organization, so external MTA cannot used for internal mail flow.
However, we can deploy anti-spam agent on Mailbox Server to improve security, for example Sender filter, Sender ID agent and content filter agent.
I find an article about Anti-spam protection, for your convenience:

Allen Wang

  • How to change internal number range into external number range

    Hi All,
    There is a number range in the system which was assigned internally by mistake earlier. Now, I want to change the internally assigned number range to external number range.
    Can anyone please let me know, the procedure to change used number range from internal number range to external number range and from external number range to internal number range.
    Quick reply will be appreciated & points will be assigned.
    Thanks & Regards,

    hi Mehak,
    you can try to simply change the range from ext to int (and vica versa). If that does not wrok, than you can delete the range and recreate it with proper settings. But you have to take into account that if you have a range as external from 1 to 10 and for example numbers 2 and 5 are taken already than you recreate the range 1..10 as internal, than you could have some problems. Probably best is in this case to recreate with other interval.
    hope this helps

    I have a table which is partitioned by Year. Now I want to move the 1 (EX: 1999) year data to another history table.
    For this first I want to swap the 1999FY partition out with an external table and then swap them back to HISTORY table.
    Please help me by providing a sample script for that.
    >
    It seems to me that you use the term "external table" in a wrong context. External table means a flat file, accessed as db object with select.
    But probably, for you "external table" is a normal table that may hold the same structured data as a partition of another table does.
    We have a feature for your requirement called "exchange partition with table".

    I'm not being rude, just don't want you to have unreasonable expectations.
    Apple Specialists will not provide help with homework. There's plenty of info about Apple on the internet and in books and articles. If you have a specific technical question, searching this forum might yield an answer.

  • How to have an email link that accesses APEX page w/o logging in again.

    Greetings,
    It is common in our APEX applications to send email to a user with a link to a specific row of data so they may access the row and approve it. The user who gets the email is already logged into the application, but when they click on the link in their email they are prompted to log in. How do I get around this?
    Thanks, Tony

    What you need is a custom page sentry setup which detects if there is an already valid session and then uses that.
    See {thread:id=2283805} for a fantastic example by Patrick Wolf about page sentry functions. You will need to alter it to retrieve a valid session, through apex_custom_auth.get_session_id.
    For some more pointers, take a look at these blog posts
    http://joelkallman.blogspot.be/2010/10/custom-authentication-scheme-for-oracle.html
    http://zetetic.net/blog/2010/12/10/updating-page-sentry-for-apex-40-upgrade.html
    http://timnzblog.wordpress.com/2010/09/13/application-express-and-janrain/
    (example code taken from last blog:)
    FUNCTION PAGE_SENTRY
    RETURN BOOLEAN
    IS
        l_username VARCHAR2(512);
        l_session_id NUMBER;
    BEGIN
        IF USER != 'APEX_PUBLIC_USER' THEN
            RETURN false;
        END IF;
         l_session_id := wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.get_session_id_from_cookie;
         -- check application session cookie.
         IF wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.is_session_valid THEN
             apex_application.g_instance := l_session_id;
             l_username := wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.get_username;
             wwv_flow_custom_auth.define_user_session(
                 p_user => l_username, p_session_id => l_session_id);
             RETURN true;
         ELSE
             OWA_UTIL.REDIRECT_URL('f?p=RPXAUTH:LOGIN:'||
                 nv('APP_SESSION')||
                 '::::RETURN_APP_ID,RETURN_PAGE_ID:'||
                 v('APP_ID')||
                 ','||v('APP_PAGE_ID'));
         END IF;
         RETURN false;
    END page_sentry;Perhaps others have more recent links, but this is the direction you should be looking at. I haven't set this up myself yet though, so i can't really be of much more assistance on this.

  • How to have 2 email accounts on iPhone

    I currently have my iPhone set up to work with my gmail account. I would like to add a second email account to my iPhone but want it as a totally different mailbox. So that my mail addressed to my gmail account is in one place and this second email account is in a different place.
    How do I do this?

    That's how email works on the iPhone - just go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap Add Account. Each mail account will have its own Inbox, Sent mail, etc.

  • How do I save emails to an external drive in Mavericks?

    The title pretty much says it all....

    Hi.  Thanks for the information.   I did follow your advice, but I do not have a Mail & Mail downloads file in my (my name) Library folder.  There is one in the Guest folder, but all it does when I click on it is come up with Calculating Size, and stops there.  There is also no Mail folder in the Shared file.  Do you have any other guess where the Mail folder could be?
    Thanks again!

  • Internal email marked as Junk - Exchange 2013

    Hello,
    As per the title, I have an issue whereby internal email from a reporting server is being classed as Junk in Outlook 2010 and 2013 for all recipients.
     -The Junk-email filtering level for all users in Outlook is set to "Low" and is applied via group policy.
     -I have anti-spam agents installed on all Exchange mailbox servers, but the "InternalMailEnabled" parameter is set to "false" for all agents.
     -The receive connector used to receive internal email has the "Externally secured" flag set, which allows spam-filtering to be bypassed.
     -The "InternalSMTPServers" parameter of the transport config contains the IP of the sending server.
    - The email address has been added to several users "Safe Senders" list in Outlook.
     -I have a transport rule set up to bypass spam filtering for the sending address of the [email protected], yet the email header on any of these messages does not contain the "SCL -1" stamp as per the below:
    #↓    Header    Value
    1    MIME-Version    1.0
    2    From    <[email protected]>
    3    To    <[email protected]>, <[email protected]>

    Can anyone assist in explaining why these emails are being continually marked as Junk in Outlook, and any further troubleshooting steps.
    Thanks

    How do I delete stored email addresses in my iphone? When sending photos, I don't want to have certain email addresses  "popping up" from the internal memory, I've deleted my entire "Contact" list but they still appear.  Help please!

    As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
    Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
    The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

  • How do I backup old emails on an external hard disk?

    My email has way too many messages. I want to clear it out but save the email onto an external hard drive in case I may want to search them sometime in the future. Should I move them to OldEmails. Can OldEmails be saved to an external disk? How would I do this? Or is there a better way to accomplish this task?
    thanks in advance, Nadia

    ...And then save the archived mail boxes to the external hard drive. That way you can always re-import them into mac mail if need be. Once you've saved the archived mail boxes to the external drive, you could create a folder in mac mail called, for example, 'Old Emails', and then just put all the old emails into there as opposed to deleting them. However, if space on your hard drive is an issue, then you may just want to delete the old emails (from mac mail on your internal hard drive).
    Keep in mind if you delete the old email messages from mac mail, and then for example, have to re-setup your email account in mac mail (if issues arise, etc.) all the 'old emails' will come back. They will come back only if they exist on the email server. They won't come back if there not on the server, for example, if you told mac mail to delete the messages off the server (which can be seen in the email account preferences) or deleted them off the server directly yourself. The easiest way to know if the same old email messages exist on the mail server is to log into the your email account via webmail (where you would go to log into your email account via a web browser such as safari). Some email accounts, such as @gmail.com, give very large amounts for storage (you won't run out of space anytime soon) but some offer very little and old emails are deleted off the server to clear space for new messages.

  • I have WD 1TB and use Time Machine for the past 2 years. Now I have multiple folders in my external hard drive and want to know how to condense all folders into yearly folders instead. Anyone know how to do this?

    I want the folders I already backed up to come together into one folder when that year is over. Is there a way to manually do that or automatic through TM?
    I'm quite sure there is no "automatic" way to do this. I've never heard of anyone trying it either. I suppose if you wanted try it, you could simply create a new folder in the same partition TM is on, label it for that year, then gather all the days for that year and drag/drop them into the folder. I suspect (but do not know) you'd be risking the continuity of your backups, meaning TM would simply start over again, meaning that next back up would start a new series of backups, with the first one roughly equalling the entire capacity of your internal HD, instead of adding only the new data to the previous backup. Once again, I would recommend against it, unless you're fine with TM starting a new series of backups if it doesn't work out the way you want it to. Hope you'll post back with results so we can learn from it.

  • I'm trying to back up 10.6.8 (snow leopard) and all my files before upgrade to Mavericks.  I have an old but sturdy external hard drive...how many GB available will I probably need to back up the whole thing? thanks!

    You will need a separate partition unless you plan to use the entire drive. You will need an amount of space somewhat larger than the total space now used on your startup drive. If you select the startup drive's Desktop icon, then press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Used space will be shown in the topmost panel. Add a GB or two to that number to determine how much space you'll need for the backup.
    Do not backup on a drive that has any files you want to keep. You can make a bootable backup as follows:
    Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag
           it to the Destination entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
          the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
