How to have ipad not save email password

How do you set ipad 3 to not save email password

With the Mail app you can't, you will need to go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and remove it and then go back in and add it back when you want to access that account again. You could use Safari instead and create a homescreen shortcut to your account's login page.

  • TB 24.4.0 simply DOES NOT SAVE email PASSWORDS . . . after rebooting

Subject says it all . . . I installed 24.4.0 on a Windows 7 x64 system and followed the installation instructions to the letter . . . adding a single GMAIL email account with password.
After the install, I checked Options > Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords to confirm the GMAIL email account password existed - and it did.
While the PC was powered on and I was at my Desktop, TB worked perfectly. But once I powered down or rebooted, TB no longer had the GMAIL email account password. To confirm this PROBLEM, I checked Options > Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords to confirm the GMAIL email account password existed - and it did not - the entry that once appeared was now 100% gone - no entry existed.
Thinking the install was mucked up, I uninstalled TB (and Firefox), then rebooted - ran cleaners - manually searched for every occurrence of TB, FF and mozilla, and removed only the effected registry entries, also searched for every occurrence of TB, FF and mozilla on the HDD added during the install and removed them - then ran the registry scrubbers again.
Once I knew my PC was totally clean of any TB, FF and mozilla files, directories, etc, I ran Windows Update to ensure the system was up-to-date.
Installed FF, then TB 24.4.0 adding a single GMAIL email account with password - and while the PC was powered on and I was at my Desktop, TB worked perfectly. But once again, once I powered down or rebooted, TB no longer had the GMAIL email account password.
To confirm this PROBLEM, I checked Options > Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords to confirm the GMAIL email account password existed - and it did not - the entry that once appeared was now 100% gone - no entry existed. According, the EXACT SAME PROBLEM REMAINS and I wasted my time uninstalling FF and TB, cleaning and scrubbing, etc.
I do not share my PC, it is a home PC and I am the only person using it - therefore I do not use a MASTER PASSWORD.
When will this EMAIL password problem be CORRECTED? Or, what is the fix?
    Thanks,
    CurlySue :)

  • Why does my mini iPad not receive emails?

Why does my mini iPad not receive email ?

We need a bit more to go on than that please.
Have you tried to reboot the app? Double tap the home button, when you see the previews for the apps on the screen, scroll sideways if needed to bring the mail app up on the screen. Flick it up and off the screen to close it. Then single tap the home button or tap on the home page preview to exit the mode.
If that doesn't work, try to go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars, delete and then re-add your mail info
Beyond that we need more details to go on to offer help.

  • Why does ipad say my email password is incorrect?

Why does ipad say my email password is incorrect when I have reconfirmed it multiple times?

It could be that another setting that you entered is incorrect. Review all settings. Sometimes it is easier to delete the account from the iPad and reenter all seetings.

  • IPad will not accept email password.

I am trying to set up email on an iPad 2. It will not accept my password.

Thanks I have it typed in properly. It is a yahoo account.
I have set up many email addresses on apple stuff before I have an iPhone and an iPad. I am just trying to set this up for my mother in law. I am quite sure I  doing everything correctly.
Hope you are all having a good Christmas.

  • How do I stop my ipad remembering my email password

How do I stop my ipad air remembering my password

I couldn't find a way to do it. What I did was to change my password at the site, then signing out. When I reentered the site, the saved password came up. I used the old password, which of course failed. I then reentered the correct, updated password. At that point, I was asked if I wanted to save the new password, which it replied not to save it.
It's a pain because the remembered password is automatically entered each time you sign in, but it does prevent unauthorized access to the account.

  • I forgot my icloud email password. I use a different email account for my AppleID.  How can i reset my Icloud email password?

I need to reset my password for my iCloud email. I forgot the password because I made it about a year ago and forgot to write it down. I used my iCloud email which it *****n****[email protected] for many of my social media accounts. I have recently found out that if I want to reset my password for a social media account, that it will not go to my imessage. I have not yet set up *****n****[email protected] on the mail app, which is what I am assuming you have to have if you want social networks to email you on your mobile phone. I can not set up *****n****[email protected] on the mail app though, because I do not know the password. I also have a separate email for my AppleID account, and yes. I have reset the password for my applied account, to see if it would also reset my icloud email address password. Thank you, and I am sorry this was confusing.

Applied.apple.com manage apple I'd. Input apple I'd. Send email authentication(and email should send to your rescue account) or authentication with security questions.... does not resolve your issue?

  • Ipad not sending email, forced to reboot for changes to apply

    Hi all
I was asked to look at a friends two week old iPad today.
It was set up for them last week.
Initially the person setting it up tried to add a Gmail account but found that it would receive but not send emails (using the native email app).
They then decided to open an outlook.com account and use that instead of the gmail account.
This worked fine for two days but then error messages saying that the mail could not be sent started to pop up. It struck me that the speed with which the error message appeared after clicking send suggested that this was an iOS issue rather than the server rejecting anything.
I tried to check the imap/smtp settings in the "control panel" but they were not available (read:visible) so I deleted the account and entered the settings manually.
It still wouldn't send emails but this time it didn't throw up any error messages, instead it decided to just dump them in the outbox without notifying me that there was an issue.
Suspecting that the issue was with the ipad rather than the outlook servers, I decided to use my own smtp server details. Initially I tried using SSL but when this too failed I switched to the unsecure version on port 25.
It still wouldn't send anything so I eventually rebooted by holding down the power button until the power off slider appeared. On rebooting I discovered that I could now send emails.
TBH I have no idea if using the different SMTP server will be an issue if they ever want to check their outlook.com "sent mail" on line or not but i do have some questions
    1. Why was the reboot necessary? I had closed all open, unnecessary apps by double tapping the home button Might it have been the case that manually entering the outlook.com settings would have worked (given that the ideal set up would be to use the SSL outlook servers).
    2. Is this an unresolved iOS7 problem. Google searches resulted in many owners complaining that the iOS7 upgrade had rendered their email accounts incapable of sending emails. TBH the advice given ranged from perhaps sensible to plain daft.
    3. can anyone using outlook.com as their email provider on iOS7 confirm which smtp server, port, etc they use?
    4. Are there better email apps that actually give you detailed feedback?
i don't know when I will next get the chance to get my hands on their ipad again but I would rather that they were using the correct outgoing servers with encryption (rather than my unencrypted smtp server).
    Thanks in advance

For the past few days I am now having trouble sending my client emails.  I get them bounced back with a permanent error of retry time exceeded.
This is getting fustrating now as my client is needing answers that I cant give.  She is unable to email her colleague in the USA, and I am now unable to email her on a btinternet.com address.
Do BT engineers monitor these forums?
    -Neil
    Hi again Neil.
Your extra info now to me means that it appears to be problem at the client end!
I hope you don't mind me asking a few questions ....
Is she a regular BT Broadband user with a normal BTinternet email address ? Does she use secondary email addresses ?
Do you know if she can happily email other people ? If not - it could be an account problem which may last a few days ....
If you don't wish to provide the complete bounce message you received, could you perhaps email me the detail (emailing me using my shortcuts). Also pehaps you could ask your client to email me via my shortcuts, and see what happens and I'll take a look at replying to see what happens.
The user on shentel.net domain she's been trying to email, did she ever manage to send any emails initially ? It could be the destination user having a problem.
The mods do monitor these forums, but there are a lot of posts to go through of course ......

  • Powerpivot data connection will not save the password

I'm trying to create a Powerpivot workbook with data that users can refresh themselves before analysis.  We don't have Powerpivot data refresh in Sharepoint active, so I can't make use of that service.
When I create a Powerpivot data connection to SQL server using SQL Server Authentication (unchanging read-only username and password), and checking the box to save the password, the connection works fine for refreshing the data as long as I leave the workbook
    open.
If I close the file and re-open it, the password is gone from the data connection and the user cannot refresh the data.
I've tried configuring the data connection with the SQL native client provider and the SQL OLEDB provider and I see exactly the same results.
The connection string gets built with Persist Security Info=True and the Password shows up as hidden text (dots).  It stays this way through refreshes as long as the workbook is open.  However, once I close the file and re-open it, the
connection string no longer has the Password parameter listed at all, not even as hidden text.  Persist Security Info is still there and set to True.  As might be expected, the connection string does not have the information needed to access the
    SQL Server instance.
This type of connection string using SQL Server Authentication still works fine with the password saved when used directly as an Excel data connection, or when used as a data source in Reporting Services.  It's only Powerpivot where the password gets
    blown away.
Is there a workaround for this issue?

    Thanks Jaynet.
Unfortunately, the procedure described in the link you provided does not work for PowerPivot, at least in Excel 2010.
If I create the PowerPivot data connection using "From Database/From SQL Server" there is no option to "Allow saving password".  There is only the checkbox to "Save my password".  There is an "Advanced" button that allows you to set many additional
properties of the data connection, but there is nothing like allow saving password.
If I create the PowerPivot data connection using "From Other Sources/Others (OLEDB/ODBC)" and then click the "Build" button, I get a dialog that is pretty close to the one in your link.  For the Provider tab, I can choose either the Microsoft OLE DB
Provider for SQL Server or the SQL Server Native Client 10.0.  In the connection tab I do have the "Allow saving password" checkbox.  I check this and complete the rest of the data connection configuration.  After I save the file with this data
connection and then re-open it, the data will not refresh.  If I edit the existing connection from the PowerPivot design tab, the Password parameter is completely missing from the connection string.  If I go back into the connection string builder,
there is nothing in the password field (not even dots) and allow saving password is no longer checked.
I've even tried creating my own connection string in Notepad and pasting it into the connection string box (definitely including Persist Security Info=True).  This does not work either and PowerPivot erases the entire Password parameter just the same
as if I had used the builder and checked Allow saving password.
I'm beginning to think that the previous poster, David Hager, has it right.  This may be a bug introduced with the latest version of PowerPivot.  If there is no workaround, it is a total pain for me.
