How to have manual Podcast
I have an mp3 file I dropped to itunes, it went to music but I wanted to make it a podcast. I changed the media kind to podcast. Now the file is gone from the music section but it doesn't appear in the podcast section either. I discovered that it's because it has no album tag.
So if you have a manually downloaded file and you want it to be a podcast, before changing the media kind to podcast, you have to give it an album title. Then change the kind and it appears in the podcast section.
Now my question is, how can I make it that file appear again in itunes? The media file is in the itunes library and when I drag and drop it again on itunes, it doesn't go into any section, meaning it is already present in the library as a podcast and the podcast section doesn't show it.
K. After about a million hours of trying to figure out the answer to this stupid question, i figured it out...... DONT BUY A MAC!!
But looks like its a bit late for us.
What you need to do:
First of all, make a copy of the file that you changed (and cant find in itunes) and put it on the desktop for easy access then do as follows.
1. Open up a finder window
2. Click on what ever you have called your computer (below desktop) on the left.
3. Click on music, then itunes, then itunes media, then podcasts.
The file you changed to 'podcast' media type, should be in a folder called Uknown Artists.
4. Delete this folder and the file in it.
5. Create a new folder with what you want to call the podcast (ie. usually the ablbum artist)
6. Once you have done this, drag the file that you put onto the desktop into it (ie. the lost mp3 file).
Now if you double click on it, it should open in itunes.
NOW BEFORE YOU CLICK ON OPTIONS AND CHANGE THE MEDIA TYPE AGAIN IN ITUNES, MAKE SURE YOU GIVE IT AN ALBUM TITLE...
problem solved.......................... Takes half a dozen steps on a mac, but for a windows pc it only involves a right click and edit.

With the previous version of iTunes, when I plugged in my iPod, I could select the iPod, select podcasts, and manually delete episodes. With the new iTunes, I can't select individual episodes when looking at my iPod through iTunes. Is my only option to Sync? If so, why is that my only option?

I think I figured out a way to do what you want to do - which is the same way that I use Itunes with my Ipod. (My Itunes libary was destroyed last year so I can no longer auto synch my Ipod as I would lose thousands of songs).
Funnily enough, I discovered this new way of manually moving podcasts while trying to figure out what cpragman was trying to say (I never could - he must be smarter than me, as I couldn't get his method to work).
1. Open up your Itunes in your regular Library view. Choose Pocasts from the left hand side (either in the sidebar if you have that enabled, or from the little "radio" icon if you don't.)
2. Mouse to the podcast you want to place on your Ipod.
3. Right-click it. A long menu will pop up.
4. Move to the "Add to Playlist" option. As you hover, all your playlists will be visible. But at the very top will be the name of your Ipod itself (whatever you named it originally). Choose THAT name, and voila! That podcast will now copy to your Ipod and be easily available when you disconnect.
A nice feature of this method is that you can shift-click several podcasts at once and do the same thing, and all your selected podcasts will copy over (if you're like me and update your Ipod only every few weeks).

I have an iPod touch that I bought recently, and have updated everything to the iOS 5.0.1 version. I have checked my music settings, and it has Lyrics and Podcast Info "ON". I have manually added the lyrics to several songs, as well as album covers, and neither one are transferring over to the iPod touch when syncing. How do I go about fixing this? I have double checked all the settings I can think of to get this transferred over. I have even double-checked the online manual to make sure where I would even find the lyrics, and how to get to them...yet....nothing.

Open the start menu, then select Control Panel in the right hand column. Open the Programs and Features section, type Apple in the search box at top right. You need to uninstall the components in the order suggested in the user tip.
Once all have been uninstalled reboot and use Windows Explorer to locate the named folders and delete them. Then reinstall.

Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.

Your entire second paragraph is so confusing I am going to ignore it.
But I may be able to answer your first and third paragraphs, which seem to address the same question.
I wonder where your iPhone states it was backed up yesterday. I am going to assume that you see this under Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
If that is true, then the backup from yesterday is in iCloud. The one and only way to restore an iCloud backup is to do this on your iPhone:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
That will cause your iPhone to begin a setup process. As part of that process, assuming you enter the same Apple ID you used when you created the iCloud backup, you will be offered the opportunity to restore from it. -

After creating your table, Tap the Tab marked "+" and select "Form" - you will be asked which table to use. (You should get into the habit of naming your tables - if the table name isn't visible, select the table and tap the Styles (Brush) Menu > Table > Turn ON table Name, then double tap on the Table to edit it.)
Select the table you wish to to fill with a form and you will see a new form based on the header data.
The form will allow you to add one row at a time and when you get to the last row, there is an option at the bottom of the form to add a new row using the "+" button. At the top of the form is the row header which you can rename by double tapping.
You can also rename the form on the Tab by double tapping on the name.

After installing OS 6, I chose the option to have my podcasts download automatically but nothing happens they just keep saying preparing to download. Is there a way to still manually download or is a fix coming?
Am I doing something wrong?

I have some podcasts that I down loaded directly and imported to itunes . They show up in the music list . Later I found them on itunes and those podcasts show up in the podcast category . I have podcasts from the same artist in both places ( podcast and music ) how do I get them all in the music list ?
If you right click and select "Get Info" and then click on the "Options" tab, you can probably just change the media kind to "Music" (or to "Podcast", as you see fit). Haven't tried it, but this is how I move TiVo'ed movies from "TV Shows" to "Movies" and so forth...
