How to have measurement tools in a 3D pdf in acrobat reader ?

I have the trial version of acrobat 9 pro extended
I work with 3D content in pdf file
I try to use measurement tool in adobe reader 9 but is not activated.
When I create my pdf 3D file in acrobat 9 pro extanded, I have the measurement tool but not with adobe reader with the same pdf file
I find nothing in help file
could you help me ?

You can extend some of the PDF capabilites, such as 3D Measurement and Commenting, by using one of the following methods:
With the PDF open, go to Comments > Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader...
-or-
With the PDF open, go to Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader...
Either one of these will make the PDF behave the way you want it to. I'm not sure exactly what the differences are, but my impression is that the latter gives the Reader user a few more priveleges. I could be wring. This can probably be clarified by the Help system.

If you have a PDF document opened in some other app on your iPad/iPhone, you can use the "Open In" feature to open it in Adobe Reader for iOS.

If you have PDF documents on your Mac or Windows desktop/notebook computer, you can use Acrobat.com (cloud storage) to share them with your computer(s) and mobile device(s).

Open a web browser.

Upload your files to Acrobat.com.

How to have Administration tool in English ?

I do have my windows installed in Portuguese. When I install the admin tool it comes out in Portuguese (menus, etc). I'd like to have it in English, since documentation, forum, etc are in english and we are used the words like 'join', etc... and not the translation.
I did a couple of experiments with windows locale / regional but still unsuccessful.
Pls. any hints ?

What version of obiee have you installed? If you have installed 11g, there is a bug, which does not allow you to choose the language during installation, and always defaults the language based on the OS's language. Refer to ( Bug 12824489: OBIEE ADMIN TOOL INSTALLER DOES NOT PROMPT FOR LANGUAGE ).

Acrobat Reader can't edit PDF files. Use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

How to get crop tool in comment enabled pdf file?

I want to place comments in pdf file using Reader 9. So i opened the pdf file in acrobat 8 and did 'Enable for commenting in Adobe Reader' so that i place the comments in Reader. I need all advanced editing tools. But when i comment enabled Crop tool will disappear. How can i enable crop tool in comment enable pdf?

You can't. By enabling commenting, you're adding certain usage rights to the document. In order for those usage rights to be preserved, certain types of changes (most) need to be prevented. If such changes were allowed (and actually made), the usage rights would be invalid and Reader would no longer be able to add comments to the file. So you can enable commenting in Reader, or allow for other changes in Acrobat, but not both with the same file.

How to open pdf in Acrobat Reader in Firefox window/Tab when both Acrobat Pro and Acrobat REader are

I would like to open pdf files in firefox using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
I have both Acrobat Pro or whatever its called and Acrobat Reader installed.
Presently going to firefox's tools, options, then selecting the file types option I cannot select any plugin to open my pdf's besides what's labeled as "adobe acrobat" but which executes an in-tab instance of Adobe Acrobat Pro, despite the ambiguous language on the plugin which I suspect stems from Adobe's evolving and confusing conventions regarding just what Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Adobe Acrobat Pro really is.
Anyways, how to make pdfs open in-tab instances of Adobe Acrobat Reader while I have both the Reader and the Pro installed?
Is there a sepperate plugin I need or something?

The problem w/ acrobat is that it takes forever to load
I was going to just use reader to read documents, and acrobat to edit, so I could gut reader of all the plugins worthless for 99.9999 of pdfs I use and it'll load fast.
foxit is nice, but won't open in-browser despite their continuing claims of supporting this feature.
That's so bizarre that adobe won't allow you to choose which one you want to run. Its installed as sepperate programs on the uninstall list, on the "open with" context menu, and w/ file associations, so why would it not be possible to only open pdf links w/ one?
Maybe its time to abandon acrobat and just use reader. There's much cheaper programs w/ all the same functionality as acrobat, so I guess I'll move on to those.
If anyone else has suggestions feel free to make em.

How do you create a watermark in a document via Acrobat Reader 9?

Have Acrobat Reader 9 but am unable to see how to incorporate a water mark on a document using Reader 9. Earlier versions had a section to select the watermark file from but I cannot locate such a section in Reader 9?
Any help most appreciated.

How to get collection of embeded fonts using plugins in acrobat reader?

I am trying to create a plugin for acrobat reader to display embedded fonts on opened document and will do business logic afterward, but not sure whats the method to get the collection of embedded fonts.
Please give me example of code snippet how to get collection of embedded fonts of opened document.

PDDocEnumFonts() will enumerate the fonts in a document for you. You will have to look at each font to determine if it's embedded or not.
Don't forget that to build a plugin for Reader, you need a license from Adobe.

How to embed a mp4 video into a pdf with acrobat pro XI?

I'm trying to embed a mp4 video into a pdf using Acrobat Pro XI. When I try to play the video, all I see is a black box. The video is H.264 codec. I've tried on a PC and Mac and get the same results.

Video playback in the Acrobat Family uses Flash Player, so if it works in FP (loaded via an HTML page) then it should work in your PDF. First suggestion is to use the free MediaInfo tool to check exactly what the internal structure reports as.

How do I control the certificate chain construction performed by Acrobat Reader during digital signature validation?

I work in the federal government where there are many certificate authorities and cross certified certificate authorities. Acrobat Reader is building hundreds of certificate chains in attempting to find a trusted root for the signers certificate. It is taking 4 minutes to validate the signature!
The image is the 15th screen shot showing three chains per screen shot. The window elevator has barely moved!

I am now using Adobe Acrobat Reader 11. Signature validation is much better! Perhaps 10 seconds. The only issue I see that the detail pages have misleading messages. The Signature Properties window has no complaints about the signature but the Show Signer's Certificate page still complains about not valid trust anchor.

Figuring out if you have exceeded the 500 response limit associated with Acrobat/Reader

Is there a way to figure out if you are out of compliance in regards to the 500 response limit that is associated with fillable forms and Acrobat/Reader? I would imagine this is just something you need to keep track of. Is there any way to use SCCM to identify fillable forms or response data collected?

If the forms are submitting to FormsCentral there is no limit. If you've Reader-enabled a PDF form with Acrobat, then it is up to you to keep track of how many instances of a particular form that has been returned to you and you use data from.

How to make Measuring Point Description Field scrollable on the Detail Read Screen

In the Measuring Point Read Detail Screen (Rounds Manager), the description field does not have a scroll bar like it does on the Point Read Counter Detail Screen. This means that the end-user has to arrow-over to the right on the handheld device to see the entire description. We changed the transaction property to be the same as that on the measuring point field on the Counter screen but that did not resolve the issue. We are assuming that the field width is defined in columns but are not sure if columns is the same as pixels. It seems like there is some type of behind the sceens calculation based on the number of pixels used by the characters in the description. The transaction property does have word wrap activated but it seems to make no difference. Does anyone have any suggestions on what can be done to make the measuring point description have a scrollbar and have the description wrap? The Rounds Server is version 2.3.

How to have flash draw pad save a pdf from user side?

I have found many drawing pad solutions. Some good, some not as good. All of them, however, fail to show how to save the file as a pdf (would be happy with bmp right about now) from the drawing pad to a server side folder via php. Can someone show how to do that using as3?
On the advanced side, I also need to figure out how to make it recognize logged in users of the preexisting CMS in order to save out to specific user folders. The CMS is Joomla 1.5 latest build, with JomSocial and JSPT multi profile. It would save out to folders created by the JMarketPro system.

you can save as a jpeg using jpegencoder and you can save as pdf using blazepdf (but you'll need to load the swf with blazepdf because that's an as2 component).

Given that Adobe Reader has no such capabilities for doing this - you will need to reject the requirement.
You can, of course, use Adobe Acrobat for such a product.
