how to have my dial up connection added to the network utility program for monitoring? though i am connected by dial-up, the connection is not monitored by the utility program. the drop down box there does not show the modem at all. ?

Huh? I don't understand what you are asking. I just pulled up the network utility and I don't see what kind of connection monitoring it does for any kind of connection? What kind of information are you looking to obtain? What problem are you interested in solving by having your question answered?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

After a set of content is placed on hold in a location, how do I make sure that anything added to the same location,that meets the filter (e.g. keyword) gets added to the hold automatically ?
Right now the only way I can do this is to take off the hold ,re-apply the filter to the source and then enable the hold. That isn't sustainable.

If you have a Mac, you can download iDentify2 (http://identify2.arrmihardies.com/). It is free. You can use that change or set your contentRating. If you are on Windows, there is a commercial tool called MetaX. or download a free command line tool called AtomicParsley from (https://bitbucket.org/wez/atomicparsley). Unzip the file and run this command (AtomicParsley "C:/Users/Home Videos/name of the file.mp4" --contentRating R) from the DOS prompt without the parenthesis. Please keep in mind the forward slash in the path name listed above. This would generate a temp file. You can rename the temp file to the original file name. Just a word of caution, please make a copy of your original file somewhere. Just in case.

The same story. No 3G after updating to 6.1. Told my daughter temporarily not to do an update on her iPad with 6.01. We've exchanged SIMs. I inserted her SIM in my iPad - 3G appeared immediately. And my SIM in her iPad with ios 6.01 also WORKS FINE. We use the same provider - Megafon Moscow. After attempting to revert SIMs to original configuration, 3G disappeared on my iPad again. Don't know what's going on with SIM during the update to 6.1

Thanks for the quick response. No, I did not get any error messages or any terms-of-usage screen. The employee I told my problem to was not computer savvy either. She just suggested I move to different spots w/in the library to see if that would make a difference. It didn't. When I connected to the library WiFi it did change the Verizon 3G that is usually in the upper left corner to iPad with two to three emanating arcs. I may have to go to the library in the next town. I was able to connect to theirs in the past when I had to download something greater than 20 MB. Unless I really want it, I will probably not even try to download something more than 20 MB due to the hassle. Yeah, I may have been better off getting a normal desktop or laptop and getting WiFi at home. To do that now would mean having my iPad 2 and a desktop computer, which I feel is extravagant. (I know there are a lot of big spenders out there who got the iPad as additional gadget for fun. This is a rich country.) A Verizon rep told me I couldn't set up a WiFi router at home just using an iPad. So it seems like a person who just uses 3G is limited to surfing the net (not even much YouTube because it eats a lot of data) and using email. I read about an app that helps print wirelessly using 3G, but a reviewer said you had to be an engineer to get it done right. BTW, I like the Steelers. The reason for this is that when you try to extend a network using wireless, you will typically lose about a half of the potential speed capability on the network.

Yes. Unfortunately the stereo is too far from the wired ethernet connection My iMac is connected to the internet using an ethernet cable from the DSL modem (plugged into the wall, not wireless). The Airport Express is plugged into an outlet 25' away from the iMac and connected to my speakers. I've turned on the iMac Airport wireless Internet Sharing, hoping to stream iTunes to the Express connected to the stereo. The iMac Airport picks up several neighborhood networks so I know it's working (and I connected my iPhone wifi to it just to check as well).
When I use Airport Utility to set up the Express, the only time Utility recognizes the Express is when the iMac Airport is off. When I turn on the iMac Airport, the Airport Utility immediately loses the Express and asks to rescan.
Maybe that explains my problem better.

I installed Oracle 9i and forms 9i in my PC. Both are working fine including SQL.
Now i would like to use Jdeveloper. When i try to create a database connection "Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" error returned.
My Db connection details are
Driver thin
host name harry
jdbc port 1521
sid oradb
where oradb is database name and harry is host name.
also i try to give the following details in Enter Custom JDBC Url option
jdbc:oracle:thin:@harryt:1521:oradb
But, i get the same error. So, can you pl. help me to fix this problem.

The Network Adapter exception is caused because:
1. The database host name, port number, or database instance name is wrong.
2. The database TNSListener has not been started. The TNSListener may be started with the lsnrctl utility.

Firefox can usually resume from interrupted downloads as long as Firefox is not closed or exited. If you are already using Firefox to download the latest version full installer, then most likely there wouldn't be a problem between the dial-up interruptions. Also you can make sure by going to '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Downloads''' (or '''Ctrl''' + '''J''') and right-click the entry and try to resume if it's not automatically picked up.
If this is not working as expected, then you may have to look for alternate ways.
