I want Reader users to be able to add a photo to a pdf in a certain place. I know I'll have to "Enable" the pdf made in Acrobat 9 Pro. (I've already asked in that forum and they sent me here.)

I have 4 photos available - the users of my form will choose one of them and insert it in the pdf form. The users will NOT have the photos saved on their local hard drives so ideally, they will see thumbnails or a preview of the available photos and then select and insert the photo they want to use.
Is this possible? If so, how do I go about this? Right now, all I can find are ways to insert a photo located on the users local hard drive.

George, I'm not sure where the photos would go or how to include them. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to making pdf forms so i'm not sure if it's even possible.
I'm planning to make a flier. I want the end user to be able to choose the photo displayed on the flier - the photos would be ones that I choose and supply. I know I could just make four different fliers, but I thought it would be more efficient if I had one flier and gave the Reader user the ability to select the photo they like.
Does this sound possible to you?

How to: have multiple users on reader and pro fill out same form

I have a marking form that 5 users will use to mark to questions each and fill in. Having an issue with the reader users that when they same they create a new file and can't save to the one form. All the pro users can share the form fill in their two questions and then pass on to another user who updates the form the adobe reader user however creates a new file. Is there anyway around this other then all using pro.
It is not always the same markers I will have up to fifteen markers.

Not an easy way. You'd need to create a server that the applets would connect to and then you could potentially have several players. But it involves changing your applet's design and doing a lot of networking and other such stuff, so it's not something you can whip up in a couple of weeks (if you don't have any experience on those things).

You need to at least enable anonymous access for the picture library.
To enable anonymous access for individual lists
Go to the home page of your Web site and, in the left navigation pane, click View All Site Content.
Click the list on which you want to enable anonymous access.
On the Settings menu, click List Settings.
On the Customize List page, in the Permissions and Management section, click Permissions for this list.
On the Permissions page, on the Actions menu, click Edit Permissions. A dialog box is displayed informing you that you are about to create unique permissions for this list. Click OK.
On the Settings menu, click Anonymous Access.
Select permissions for users who have anonymous access to the list, and then click OK.
In the step 7, make sure you have checked Add Items option.

How can i read user input value to my User exist

I am facing one problem in Variables in BPS.
I am calculating days from Month/year .I have one variable it is for Days,Second variable it is for Month/Year.
First variable is user exist (for calculating the days),Second varible is user defined variable(this is a Input to the first variable).
When i am giving the Month/Year(02/2008)variable i am getting the 29 days from the first variable.again i am changing the value of Month/Yera(03/2008) i am not getting the desired value.
my doubt is my user exist not able to read current value of variable(month/year).how can i pass my value to user exist because this value is user input value based on this value i am calculating the days and dynamically displaying the layout.

How To Have Reader Print A Document Immediately Upon Open

Hello Forum Members:
Does anyone know how to configure Reader 9 to immediately print a document to the default Windows printer when it is opened? So, the process would be to double click a PDF document and then have it immediately print to the printer (with or without a visual rendering on the screen) with no other clicks.
Ideas?

I found one more solution to this issue. If you have a directory with many PDF files and you want to print some or all of them, just get into Windows Explorer, select the files you want to print, right click the selected files, and choose "Print". It will print all the documents with no dialog box and it sends them all to the Windows Default Printer. All you have to do is just close the last empty Adobe Reader window. A quick and easy method.

How to Let Reader Users Delete Attachments?

Hello,
I am having a problem with Acrobat Pro X. I am creating a PDF file that has multiple attachments. Since I have the pro version, I can open the file and delete any attachment I want. But, when I open the document using only Adobe Reader X on another computer, I can't find a way to delete any of the attachments altogether.
I have turned off all security settings, etc.
Is there a way to extend this feature to Adobe Reader users? I want them to simply be able to delete any attachments of their choosing from the PDF file and save it per their specifications.
Any ideas?

How to Allow Reader Users to Save XML Data and Send?

A huge problem w/ LiveCycle Designer is (this is what I found), by clicking the "Submit via Email" button, the Adobe Reader is trying to connect to the local default email program, like outlook express.
However, public computers are usually banned the users to launch an email program, and users are more likely to check email within a webpage. I noticed a number of students close the Reader after filling out the form but failing to send back the data.
Anyway that I can allow a Reader user to be able to save .xml data file so he/she can attach to web-based email?

If you have Acrobat there is a subset of Reader Extensions functionality available in there that will allow you to Reader Extend the form to do local saves. The license agreement limits you to 500 uses. If you need more than that there is a server option that is more expensive but has no limits on users.

How to Upload Many User Profile Photos/Pictures

Hi everyone. We've been struggling on uploading user profile pictures to our Sharepoint online sites. I have been reading this post http://get-spscripts.com/2010/12/upload-multiple-user-profile.html but it kind of helps but not really. If we rename our picture
files to DOMAIN_LoginName.jpg which in our case would be corp_joe.smith.jpg I am curious how Sharepoint Online knows where to put the files? We don't use our domain to authenticate to SO (or do we?). Then it wants the URL of the mysite site. Is that a collection
site? How do I translate this to Sharepoint Online? This post is a few years old so I don't expect it to match up exactly but is this even possible with the newer Sharepoint Online?

We do have them in AD but according to other posts and Microsoft articles, we need Outlook Online to sync pics. Apparently Outlook Online syncs from AD and SP syncs from Outlook Online. Since we do not have Outlook Online, we are out of luck.

I have a form created in Acrobat 9. I want to allow Acrobat Reader 11 users to add a photo. Can I bring the form into Live Cycle Designer to do so, or will that cause conflicts with the Acrobat form?

In that case you can't do it with an Acrobat form. Moving to an LCD form is not a mere technicality. The two technologies are very different from one another and are not compatible with one another. You should think and test it carefully before making such a move, and make sure to keep backups of your Acrobat forms.

How to view hidden users, add & delete?

I administer eMacs and iBooks in an elementary school setting. Ideally, having hidden users like an administrator, would clean up login page and make the system more secure. The login page would not normally display the hidden login users until required.

For now, I used a Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist file that has a "HideAdminUsers" command in it, and used it by simply replacing the standard com.apple.loginwindow.plist file that displays all users. Conversely, I switched them back when the task was done.
It sounds as if you used this command to modify the .plist file:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HideAdminUsers -boolean Yes
As an aside, it can be reversed with
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HideAdminUsers -boolean No
I don't think there is a keystroke to show the hidden admin usernames, but you can log into a hidden admin account with just a few more keystrokes. At the login screen, press the down-arrow to highlight one of the non-admin accounts, then hold down the option key and press Return. At the next window, enter your admin username (the shortname is fine) and enter your admin password. If there is only one non-admin account in the login window, then click the back button before pressing the down-arrow key.

I have a problem. I have pdf form which my clients can field and then save (they use reader). When comes more detail some other user field out more this same form. But reader dont allow to save this form again. Why so? Is there any way to make it happen that different user from different computer can save pdf form again.
