How to hide both the MINIMIZE and MAXIMIZE buttons ?

Is there anyway that I could use to remove the MINIMIZE and MAXIMIZE buttons up the top right coner of a window ?

You can disable them (removed on some early windows versions), if you make your window non-resizable.
Otherwise you would have to override the Window or JWindow class to make your own frame-like window.

  • Where is the minimize and maximize buttons?

    I'm using Acrobat version 8 and the standard windows XP minimize and maximize buttons are gone from the top right hand corner of the window which means I have to resize the window manually. There IS the "x" button to close the window if I wanted to but that's it. This happened once before in version 7 but then the buttons came back somehow. I'm on Windows XP and all of my other programs work fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I fixed my own problem...finally. I'm using a third party add in called PDFlyer. In the options window for that program is a checkbox for "hide minimize/maximize box". That was the trick.

    im using java 1.3 and ie4.0 or ie5.5, i would like to know if there is any way i could remove or at least disable the minimize and maximize button for the APPPLET window for the toolbar..i tried using setResizable(false) but it doesnt work..well if i tried it in the appletviewer , it actually worlks for the maximize button(it disables the maximize button), but if i try it in the browser, it doesnt work at all... please help

    At least on Linux, JDialog's don't have a resize functionality. So you could do the thing you want to do with a JDialog (or maybe plain java.awt.Dialog), and everything will be fine!

    How long did you let it charge? It may take 30 minutes before the iPad responds when the battery is completely drained. Let it charge for at least 30 minute using the wall charger. Then rest the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
    If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is 100%.
    If the iPad still does not start make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Missing close, minimize, and maximize buttons

    I'm using OS X 10.7.4 Lion-- and have been unable to add back the minimize and other buttons when on webpages via Safari or in Mail. 
    I've tried rebooting, repair disk permission, but nothing seems to bring it back. 
    I seem to have a totally white screen, whereas I used to be able to see the background and have multiple windows.  I also cannot keep the dock
    visable- need to scroll below it to bring it back.
    And the toolbar stays hidden until I scroll upwards.
    Have googled for solutions, but nothing seems to come out of this that helps.  I can only think that my problems are related, since none of
    these situations used to occur.
    Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    I think you've accidently zoomed the screen.  Hold the Control key down and scroll with your mouse or trackpad.

    The email function from iPhoto is pretty basic. The only Bcc available is to yourself (in iPhoto > Preferences > Advanced), cc: does not appear to be available at all, and it does not appear you can email to a group.
    You can change this by going to iPhoto > Preferences > General and next to where it says Email photos using: select Mail. If you do this you have all the options available in Mail including Cc: and Bcc: and the ability to drag a group from Address Book into the mail addresses.

    please also do an in-depth scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & keep firefox and your plugins up-to-date in order to stay safe on the web.

    Since I upgraded to 1.1 I have lost the Min and Max buttons that are usually at the top right hand side of the toolbar. Anyone else seen this problem? I am running Win XP.

  • How does one use the middle and right buttons in AIR without the cursor showing?

    All I want to do is use all three botton clicks without the cursor showing (assistive technology situation). So I use Mouse.hide(). All works fine with the Left mouse button. With the middle and right buttons the cursor reappears as soon as the middle and right mouse is in the DOWN state (and stays visible until rehidden--see code). Are there Mouse parameters that could be added? (I can't find any such references.) Do I need to create a custom cursor Class that makes the cursor invisible at all times?     Incidentally, I then downloaded the upgrade offered at the top of that page (from v3.2 to v3.2.4) but after ±90% of the necessary time needed, it shut down with a "Failed to Mount" message (whatever that might mean). It took more than 28 minutes to download that much even though I'm using DSL! Have either of you upgraded to v3.2.4 with or without difficulty?

  • How do I fix the back and forward button feature on my Logitech Unifying mice?

    Ever since the latest automatic FFX update to 6.0.2 my fancy new Logitech Unifying Mice, both the M505 and the M510 no longer function properly in FFX. The middle multi-function scroll-wheel, button used to be the back button when pushed sideways to the left and forward when pushed sideways to the right.
    I've updated software in the Logitech unifying software, I've reset the settings for the button controls. nothing seems to work. Please help
