  • How to hide dynamic parameters values in the URL with Reports 6i

    Hi,
    I want to know a way of hiding the parameters values when asking for a report through the web.
    Now I'm using the Reports 3.0.5.8 with a Cartridge defined in the Oracle Web Application Server 3.0.1.0.1. When you ask for a report with the parameters DESTYPE = cache and DESFORMAT = pdf, it is fully generated and in the Address or Location box of the browser, you can see http://webserver/cache/report.pdf (where cache is the virtual directory defined in the OWAS in which the .pdfs are cached). So, users cant see the Url used to generate the report.
    Im trying to upgrade this configuration to Reports 6i with Cgi in a web server. I generate reports with no problems. The problem I have is I cant find how to hide the parameters values as before. I mean, when I ask for a report, once its generated I can see http://webserver/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?server=ServerName&report=report.rdf&userid=user/pass@connection&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&P1=value1&P2=value2 in the Location box. It allows user to ask for another report changing the values of the parameters. I use these parameters to execute some query written in the Data Model. For example, imagine that the P1 represents the company id, the user (that is supposed to see only data of its company) can change this id, ask for a new report and see data of another company.
    Ive already tried to use the key mapping option, but its not useful to me because the parameters values are dynamic and its impossible to define different entries in the cgicmd.dat for each possible value. The option of loading the parameter form before running a report is not useful to me either, because there exists specific screens for this purpose.
    Is there any solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi Rakesh,
      I am using BI  7.0
    The last option I have is 'Hide' for 'Calculate single values as' .
    I have the below options  for 'Calculate single values as'
    1. Normalise  according to Next group  level  Resul.
    2. Normalize according to  Overall Result
    3. Rank number
    4.Olympic Rank Number
    5.Maximum
    6. Minimum
    7.Counter for all detailed values
    8.Counter for all detailed values that are non zero
    9.Moving average
    10.Moving average  That is  Not zero ,null or Error
    11. Hide.
    So could you please tell me where i can find 'suppress result' option for the keyfigure .
    Many thanks

  • How to hide Database Logon option when scheduling Crystal Report in BOE?

    Hi All,
    For security reason, we are try to hide the Database Logon option in Crystal Report Schedule page in InfoView.
    There is option in CMC which we can configure the default Database logon option so that users do not have to enter the logon everytime they view or schedule the report.  However, we are looking to hide this option completely.
    Does anyone know if there is a security setting which can hide the option from specific users?
    Thanks,
    Bobby

    Hi Bobby,
    As Jorge informed that there is no method available within CMC to hide database logon option when scheduling or viewing a Crystal Report in the Info view. This is very much true.
    But as you also mentioned that you don't want your users to enter the database logon credentials evertime they view or schedule a crystal report, there is one setting in CMC which we can do to avoid prompt for database logon credentials.
    CMC - Home - Go to that specific crystal report - Click Process tab - Click the sub-tab 'Database' and at the bottom of the page there is an option "Use same database logon as when report is run". Check this option after providing the database credentials and click UPDATE.
    Now whenever users try to view or schedule this specifc crystal report they won't be prompted for the database logon credentials.

  • How To Run a Parameterized Report Stored in Crystal Enterprise on demand

    I have been integrating into Crystal Enterprise 10 for  many years now with no problem.  We use .net to schedule and run reports as well some administration tasks.  Users can view reports through our asp.net web application using the crystal viewers.
    However, I now have a task that requires us to run a report that is stored in CE on demand.  This can NOT be done through the viewer because it will not have direct user interaction.  The crystal report has to be bundled with other documents and then displayed to the user in a single PDF.  I have everything working right now if the report has already been scheduled and ran through CE.
    What I can't figure out to do is how to actually run the report in CE on demand and immediately get the results back.  I can't schedule it (even for immediate running) because I can't have it backed up in the job server queue.  If the report was local on the machine that Integerate with CE, I think it is as simple as loading document, setting parameters, and calling refresh.  However, I need this to happen in CE with the RAS or PageServer server.  In other words, the execution of the report needs to occur on server and I need the end results.
    I have scoured the Net looking for an example but everything either talks about scheduling through Job server or on demand through the viewer.
    Hopefully someone can help.

    Thanks for the answer Elaine, but I am still not quite there.
    We already had interactive on-demand report viewing working through our web app.
    The problem is that I need non-interactive on-deman report running.  Let me explain the process a little more to help paint the picture of the process we have.
    1.  While working in our application, the user selects an "information dump" on the selected the employee.  This dump is information from a number of different places and document types.
    2.  The application then goes to each of these different information areas and converts the information to PDF format.
    3.  Application stitches all the individual PDF files into a single PDF which is what is returned to the user via the web application.  The delivery mechanism cannot change due to requirement limitations.
    Currently, the information is coming from multiple MS Word mailmerge documents merged "on-the-fly" with data for the employee and a stored HTML worksheet that is also converted to PDF.
    We now have to add a PDF version of 2 reports that are ran when the user requests the information dump.
    I already have the code to connect to CE and get a reference to the RASReportFactory.  We do this today using the interactive viewer.  However, we use the viewer to display reports that have already been scheduled and ran.  This means we simply make a call to RASReportFactory.OpenReportSource to get the source for the viewer.
    We now can't have a viewer in this process.  I found the call to the method OpenDocument on RASReportFactory to get a handle to a ReportClientDocument.
    I know how to properly set the values for the report arguments as well as the database information.
    What I don't see is a method to tell it to run the report.  I see Save and SaveAs but this simply saves the document by to CE or to a local file with the changes I made to parms and db info.
    What do I call to tell it to execute the report so I can turn around and export it to PDF?  Thats the million dollar question.

  • How to hide the parameters in the url

    Hi,
    Can anyone help me to hide the parameters being passed in the url. For example, when a link is clicked i want to pass few parameters to it, but i dont want to display those parameters in the url. Can anyone help me figure out how can i achieve this?
    Thanks
    ri

    In your CO's processFormRequest, do pageContext.putTransactionValue(name, value). You can retrieve the value using pageContext.getTransactionValue(name). Please use your own judgement to use Transaction or Session as the place holder as per your requirement. In most cases, transaction would do but if you want the values to be retained across transactions, use Session. Also, make sure to clear those values when you are done with the values so that this does not get retained across session/transaction.
    Incase, you want the values only for the next submit and not for the transaction, you can use pageContext.putParamater() and pageContext.getParameter() which has a very short life cycle.

  • 3.x version query how to hide in the report output

    Hi,
    In 3.5 query output, how to hide a row/column which in the report layout.
    Regards,
    Hanisha

    Hi Hanisha,
    If I understood your question correctly that you are looking for hiding the Row or Coloum means either charactertic or key figure in the report layout.
    To hide the any kind of key figures (usually columns) you will have to Right Click KF - Display option always hide.
    if you wanted to hide Characteristic (Rows), there will be no option to hide, but you can remove the drill down of the characteristic so that it will not be appeared.

  • Beginner Question - How to hide the parameters of a created process on a remote machine.

    OK so I am useng the following Powershell command invoke-WmiMethod -class Win32_process -name Create -Argumentlist ($some_command_with_parameters) -Authentication 6 -ComputerName $Your_Computer -Credential $cred
    The question comes when I pass the command with parameters in the command is encrypted until it gets to the destination but then it appears to be very easy to view the command parameters by using a PROCESS Get command while that command is being run.
    Is there a way to hide the parameters on the remote system to prevent someone from viewing those at the time I run my script.  The problem is that I would like to pass a username and password as a parameter but would like to make sure it is fairly secure.

    Yeah I was trying to execute a cmd.exe /c ...  This works great except the for mentioned issue.  Essentially what I was trying is to create a backward mapped drive.  In order to transfer a log that is created from the command I am running,
    back to my machine.  I know the process I am doing could potentially be done different but in the enviroment I am in it is very restricted so I am basically working with what I have here.  Is there any way to at least make sure that no one other
    than the person who created the process can see its arguments?  Interactive prompts or using files won't work as I am doing this remotely and essentially issuing one long command that will do everything I want. A file might work but I don't have a secure
    way to transfer a file as this has to be a process I can do on multiple servers and many of them do not have anything setup for doing that.  The other issue is the credentials would still be unsecure on the server as long as the file was there.
    I think my best bet would be if possible to restrict others from viewing a process and arguments that I create.  Any ideas?

  • How to hide/disable Parameters in Title of  Report 11g ?

    Hi all,
    I m using 11gr2 Forms/Reports 64-bit with Weblogic server 10.3.6 on Windows server 2008 ent 64-bit.
    I m calling a report from Form by following built-in;
    declare
    v_show_document     VARCHAR2 (2000) := :GLOBAL.V_DOC;
    v_connect     VARCHAR2 (200) := :GLOBAL.V_conn;
    v_report_server     VARCHAR2 (50) := :GLOBAL.V_ser;
    v_report_name     VARCHAR2(100) := :global.rep_path2||'SALE_CHALLAN_VOUCHER1.rdf';--:GLOBAL.V_rep;
    v_format     VARCHAR2(12) := 'HTML'; --:GLOBAL.V_for;     --     PDF or SPREADSHEET
    begin
    v_show_document := v_show_document
    || v_connect
    || '+server='
    || v_report_server
    || '+report='||v_report_name
    || '+destype=CACHE'
    || '+desformat='||v_format
    || '+paramform=no'
    -- || '+fromdate='||TO_CHAR(:UNITCONTROL.FROMDATE,'DD-MM-RRRR')
    -- || '+todate='||TO_CHAR(:TODATE,'DD-MM-RRRR');
    ||'+compcode='||:parameter.compcode
    --||'+P_DOC_CODE='||:MAINBLOCK.CONTROL_CODE
    ||'+FROM_SERs='||:MAINBLOCK.V_SER
    ||'+FROM_NOs='||:MAINBLOCK.V_NO
    ||'+to_SERs='||:MAINBLOCK.V_SER
    ||'+to_NOs='||:MAINBLOCK.V_NO;
    web.show_document(v_show_document);
    end;
    This built-in calls the report successfully.
    But all theses parameters (server name,report name,username/passwords etc.) above, are shown in
    title of the Report, which should be hide for security purpose.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks with Regards.

    web.show_document(v_show_document);This is not a good way to call a Report from Forms. Use run_report_object instead (as shown in Hamid's link). This will hide all the parameters.

  • How to Change Database parameters as suggested by EWA report

    Dear Experts,
    As per EWA report , i have been asked to change several DB parameters as per note 0124361 . Should i go aghead and change the parameters ? What is the procedure of chaging those parameters? what is the real process that should be followed ? Please revert.Points guaranteed.
    Regards,
    Somya

    Run "brspace -f dbparam"
    Select option 1 "Change parameter value" and change the parameters. After changing select option 3 to create a new init.ora.
    If you change parameters that have the scope "spfile" oracle requires a restart. If you only change parameters with scope "both" you don't need a restart of oracle. This changes are affected on the fly.
    To restart oracle:
    connect / as sysdba
    SQL> shutdown
    SQL> startup
    You don't need to stop SAP if you only change oracle parameters. SAP reconnects automatically if the database is up.

    Hi user,
    do you have condition on which to select the rows to be hidden?
    what do you exactly mean by hidden... do you mean they should be filtered? In that case you can apply a filter based on the condition.
    Please elaborate your requirement..

  • How to Change Database of Report before Exporting?

    I am having difficulties changing the database that the report should run against.
    We are using Oracle.  In the past when scheduling a report through CE, I would manipuate the Desktop.ReportLogons object.  For Oracle I simple changed the CustomServerName, CustomUserName, and CustomPassword properties.  Everything worked fine when the report was scheduled and ran.
    Now I am doing an on-demand report without an interactive viewer.  I am doing everything in code using RasAppFactory and the ReportClientDocument.
    I am looking at the DatabaseController of ReportClientDocument.  I thought I could just use the LogonEx method passing in the server, user, password, and an empty string for the database since for Oracle connections you only specify server and not database.  However, it is still trying to connect to the defined database.
    Can someone point me to an Oracle specific example of how to properly change database info when report runs?
    Do I need to be using other methods like one of the SetTableLocation methods?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello, Stephen;
    You are correct, with Oracle you do not need the Database property.
    The person logged on to Business Objects Enterprise through the RAS .NET application would need rights to make the change in database connections. Can the usr with the same logon make the change directly in Enterprise?
    The ReportClientDocument separates the Server Name and Database from the User ID and Password with the PropertyBag. The convenience methods such as LogonEx will only change the User ID and Password. To change all four properties you need the full RAS logon code.
    The full logon for RAS would use code as shown below.
