For that you will need some 3rd Party Application.. Create another Folder and move all such applications there-in.. and you should be able to Password protact that folder...but the compatibility will depend upon your device. Check here after setting your Device Model...

How to hide installed application from Software Center 2012

Hello,
I would like to ask you whether it is possible in Software Center 2012 to remove the record of program that was installed successfully from application catalog.
Currently it stays visible in SC as "Available" constantly informing users with popup that there is new software available for installation. This may be disturbing behavior for users.
Technical specialist in our company would be very glad to know some workaround. Is there some xml file or registry on user computer that could be used to remove such record from Software Center 2012?

How do I install applications to classic in os 10.4.11

How do install applications to classic in os 10.4.11. Specifically Microsoft Works 4.0. I am trying to get a customers old g4s upgraded in increments so they can get away from os 9.2.2. They have book keeping records that need to be converted from os 9.2.2 and Microsoft Works 4.0 to something more recent.

THAT'S my problem. I've been working on Windows machines since everything was done with DOS commands but don't have any experience with older Macs. I have worked on some OS 10.8.x and 10..9.5s and was able to find the how to's on the internet, but it's very difficult to find any info on 9.2.2 and/or Microsoft Works 4.0. I have found some 3rd party converters that will convert the .wks and .wdb files to .xls that a legacy version of Libre Office can read, but getting the application to install is my problem. After downloading the file clicking on the .dmg file that shows up on the desktop does not install the application. A link to specific directions would be greatly appreciated.

I am a complete newbie to the Mac World, am from the pc world.
I am trying to install applications. I have downloaded a few from the web and I have no idea how to install them. Double clicking on them doesn't do the job.

Applications either include their own installer or are provided and downloaded via a disk image.
If an application includes an installer, you will be prompted for your admin password after double-clicking on the downloaded and then provided prompts such as where you want to install the application, etc.
If an application is provided via a disk image, when double-clicking on the download (the download will include a .img extension such as xxxxxx.img), the disk image is mounted on the Desktop and the application is within.
Open another Finder window and drag the application from within the mounted disk image to your Applications folder which copies the application to your hard drive.
To unmount the disk image, drag the disk image to the Trash can in the Dock or select the disk image and at the Finder menu bar, go to File and select Eject. You can then delete the downloaded xxxxxx.img file.

I tried so many times installing applications such as games and other software on my treo 600, but nothing shows in the launcher. I don't have a hotsynch tahts why this is my only option. I can see theapplications I download from my laptop to my treo 600.
When I download using a pc, it is in zip file, then I extract it. Latly, copy paste to my memory card. Is there something wrong about it? Please help... I don't have any application on my treo 600. Its been a week exploring, but still don't get the answer.

HotSync is a program, not something to be purchased on eBay!
It is part of a free program from Palm called "Palm Desktop". Go to the pages Hook directed you to, download and install the program.
You can then install programs to your Palm correctly! You will not need the CD.
You will need a program called Documents To Go to easily use Microsoft Word and Excel files. This will have to be purchased from Dataviz.com. Be sure to look for a version that is compatible with your device.

How do i install application disk

I received an applications disk with this used Macbook Pro, 2009 model. It says to insert the disk, reboot holding down the D key which is supposed to run a hardware test. It doesn't work, but always just shuts down after a few minutes. when I try to install it normally with the system running I get an error message that this package will not run on this computer.
This disk is supposed to install Garage Band and other applications that are no longer included for free.
Anyone know about this and how to get around it?

If the disc really is part of the correct original install-restore DVD set, it may be damaged.
For a replacement disc, you'd have to be on the look-out for a retail Garage Band version
from that era; or attempt to find one of the gray discs with the correct Part Number that
your computer shipped with that has all the original applications plus OS X installer on it.
You could get & try a utility known as Pacifist from the maker's web site to see if you may
be able to extract the files and then use this utility to build an installation from the desktop,
so as to get the Garage Band application from a DVD -- without the Apple installer software.

While I've used Pacifist several times with older OS X (pre 10.7) there are a few things that
require you to try & try again. It is not simple, but can work well with older system discs.
With correct identification of the computer build model year, you may be able to find an
original correct install-restore disc set by part number. I've noticed http://MacTracker.ca
database download shows gray-label DVD part numbers for specific model Macs. [With
this information, it may be possible to contact resellers of older software sets, to buy it.]

If a family member wants to prevent other family members from seeing something that they have purchased they can hide their purchase. Content that has been hidden by a family member will not be shared with other family members. You can hide content on an iOS device or iTunes/App Store/iBooks on OS X, for example in the App Store on an iOS device you simply navigate to the Purchased tab and swipe on something you want to hide and press the 'hide' button.

I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 8 and was able to hide an iPhone app by going to App Store:Updates (bottom right):Purchased:My Purchases and swiping left on an app to show a red HIDE button and selecting it. Unhiding the app requires going to the iTunes store on your Mac or PC and unhiding it (see iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases).

Your fist step will be to execute transaction SHD0 and create a transaction variant for SWIA. Then you can create a Z transaction (ZSWIA) that will call SWIA with the transaction variant you have just created.

How do I install application software/programs on a USB - External HD ?

USB External Hard drive to install programs - I have OS 10.5.5 on my MBA and I am trying to use a external drive to install programs. I have done the Disk Utility - Partition and Mas OS Extend Journaled / erased. I can see the external drive, and copy files to this device without any problems. When I try to install programs I am given an error about the OS needs to be 10.4 or higher??

You can also call Apple and obtain a clean copy of the set up disks.
I recommend that you do a full wipe and clean install of the OS. There is "something" on the disk that is not right. You will be much happier with a clean install.
Once you have the clean install, download and install the 10.5.5 COMBO updater. I have found that the Combo updaters often work better than the series of incremental updates that Software Update installs.

How to Install Application Server Control on top of AS J2EE Installation.

I just installed AS 10g 10.1.2, upgraded it to 10.1.2.3 and applied Jul2008 CPU.
It was initially a simple J2EE install (with only J2EE and OC4J).
It seems there is no EM Application Server Control component since all attempts below failed:

on top of AS 10.1.2.3 (base 10.1.2 install with 10.1.2.3 upgrade Jul2008 cpu)
