How to hide video files in Playbook

I want to hide some of the videos to hide from my kids. There is no such option that any particular video file doesnt show in the videos list. Insted, if there is any option to hide the icon of the video from the menu, just like option in the Bold 4 smartphone.

There isn't an option per se.
However there is an app in AppWorld that will let you do it.
Personally, I just use the Air Browser in AppWorld to rename the file extension from .mp4 to .mp4.me.
This hides the video from the player until I name it back again.

Within Aperture you have Images, which are constructed on-the-fly from two files (the Master and the Version).  You get an image-format file _only_ when you export an Image.  You select the file name (usually a scheme) when you create an image-format file (that is, when you export).  Look under "Aperture→Presets→File Naming" for built-in Presets.  You can, of course, create your own or customize any provided.
The Preset is applied to only the file newly created by your "export" command.  It is not applied to the Image in Aperture (unless you rename your Versions or your Masters).

How to play video files that are in Drop box on iPod?

I am going to have to write a technote about this, because it comes up a lot.
Flash Player itself is designed to play SWF content as a browser plugin or as an ActiveX control (when it's IE Windows).
There is a standalone Flash Player, but that's something Adobe  provides directly as a feature of Flash CS4 Professional. It gets installed with Flash. We have made some standalone players available on http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, but not all (and I don't know why.  Looking into it)
There are numerous 3rd party standalone SWF players out there though.  Some designed to just play video, others that play full SWF. I suggest a google search of 'play SWF standalone' and read the results.
On the Mac, consumers who want to play SWF content off their desktop can use the Adobe Media Player. You can import a local SWF (and FLV and other video) and play it in AMP.  Get it here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/
That's Mac only, doesn't work on Windows.

You don't. File transfer, by Bluetooth, has never been supported on any iPhone. To import pics/videos in your camera roll, read here:

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

real player format isnt supported on playbook i dont think use a programme such as handbrake on your pc and either transcode it to an mp4 or .avi that way your playbook will recognise it as a video file.

  • How to detect video files in Aperture Applescript?

    Hi,
I'm writing Applescript for exporting images based on certain criteria. I do not want to include my video files in the export. How can I determine in the Applescript that a "image version" is actually a video file? Or even better, is it possible to get a list of "image version" items from an album excluding video files?
My starting point is to get "every image version" as below, and this returns also video files (which I do not want):
    tell myAlbum
set myAllImages to every image version as list
    end tell
Aperture Applescript reference doc does not contain anything with words "video" or "movie", so I'm quite stuck here...

    Hi,
the aperture suit in apple script does not know about media kinds, but once you have selected the image files like you planned, you could use the Finder suit to parse the file name and return the file extension. If the extension is "mpg" or "mov" or any other movie type then exclude it from your list.
set myfile to -- whatever you select in Aperture
    tell application "Finder"
set theext to the name extension of myfile
              return theext
    end tell

  • How to Hide "Hidden Files"??

This is a question that has stumped AppleCare when I called them last week, and the "Geniuses" at my local AppleStore yesterday....So, throwing it out here. On upgrading my new 17" MBP last week to Snow Leopard I discovered the Finder was showing a lot of System files that normally are "hidden". IE: bin, cores, etc, mack kernal, tmp, usr, var. The regular way of dealing with these files is to make them "hidden" with a Terminal command, but that didn't work. I reinstalled Snow Leopard twice, that didn't work, the Genuis applied a Widget to hide the files, that didn't work either. Somehow the Snow Leopard installation has labelled these files as visible and will not allow Terminal to re-label them so that they go back to their proper "hidden" state.
I cannot with Snow Leopard find a way to "Archive and Reinstall" so that I could sort of shove aside the troubled system and put another clean one in place like we could with Leopard and previous OSX installations. So does anyone have any ideas what may have happened here and how I can address it without the painful solution of wiping the HD and reinstalling and re-registering everything like Photoshop, FCP, Lightroom, Aperture and a host of other software? Something I am trying to avoid. Thanks............

  • How to convert video files on an SD card to play in iMovie

I am completely stumped! New to Macs, so assume a really basic level of knowledge!
A videographer gave me an SD card that breaks down into a folder called DCIM and a folder called Private, which breaks into JVC>BPAV>CLPR, TAKR, and a a few random files. Inside of CLPR there are numbered files, and inside each of those are MP4 video files. These MP4s can't open in anything but VLC. Quicktime doesn't recognize them. When I open then in iMovie, I get green screen with no audio.
Does anyone know how I open this/convert this so I can edit it in iMovie?

    insert card in our card-slot/reader
    in iMovie select Import
    no step 3...
.. any 'manual' conversion is not just redundant, no 'conversion' needed, but in most cases doesn't deliver the wanted results.
may I suggest to read the Manual?

  • How to convert video files so they render in FCP?

I'm having trouble converting video files and using them in FCP. My problem is I have to keep rendering a clip every time I modify it in FCP. I know how to fix this issue with audio by exporting a file to the correct sample rate, but with video I can't find the correct option. I've tried converting my video to MPEG-4 and Quicktime movie but nothing works.

Convert it to a nle friendly format like DV, Pro Res, etc. Mpeg4 is not nle friendly.
    Import the video.
Make sure the sequence settings are the same as the video clip--i.e. if you converted the video to DV NTSC 29.97, the sequence setting should match that.
If your sequence settings match your video, you won't have to render unless you add an effect or transition, etc.
