How to hide/visible external window

Hi,
I'm using Jdev 12c.
I have a calling BTF and it calls a called BTF (run as dialog : "true", Display type : external-window).
Now, I wanna hide/visible the calling BTF after showing called BTF
Could anybody have any ideas?

How to hide items on Windows 8 File Explorer Ribbon

Scenario
This article describes how to hide items on the file explorer ribbon in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
Method
We can implement it via customizing the permission of the related registry keys.

Step 1:
Open
Registry Editor and locate to following registry key under which you can find the corresponding keys of the items on the File Explorer Ribbon.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CommandStore\shell\
In the following figure, it shows the Add a network location item on the file explorer ribbon, and the corresponding
registry key in Registry Editor.
Step 2:
Take ownership of the registry key
Note: You can take ownership
of a registry key if you are logged on as an administrator or if you have been specifically assigned the permission to take ownership of the registry key by the current owner.
Right-click on the registry key which you want to take ownership of,
and then select
Permissions... option.
Click on
Advanced button to grant special permissions in the key.
At the top to the right of the current
Owner, click on the Change link.
Enter
Administrator in the Enter the object name to select
box, and then click on Check Names.
Click on
OK twice to apply.
Step 3:
Change the permission of the registry key.
On
Permissions for the key name display dialog, click
Administrators in the Group or user names window, and then select the
Allow check box for
Full Control
option.
Click
Users in the Group or user names window, and then select the
Deny
check box for
Full Control
option.
Step 4:
Click on
Apply and OK to save the changes and the following figure shows the modified permissions and owner.
Step 5:
When you open File Explorer, the item you would like to hide disappears. For your information, the following is an example:
Item: Add a network location
Corresponding Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CommandStore\shell\Windows.AddNetworkLocation

You can also deploy script with Set-Acl which is a PowerShell command to take ownership and change permissions

The reason they gave was it is possible for the file to stay open when done with the file. (not properly closing) As the driver would be accessing the file to retrieve the thumbnail.
The thing is a driver is nothing more than a program it self. Therefore it is capable of opening and closing a file and placing the thumbnail into the database for that folder. It then would be capable to verify if the thumbnail exists in that database. Since the driver only has to run when explorer is open in that folder's view, it really is not running that often.
The catch I can see it when both Illustrator and explorer are running at the same time. Which one should close the file? The solution would be a small app that verifies that both programs are running and has control of clean up when both have closed. The driver and Illustrator could also in theory check and see if the other is running, if it is do nothing if not then close the file.
So it really boils down to having the driver and Illustrator talking to each other.

Hide visible command window when running cscript.exe

I'm using vbs wrappers when I'm installing applications with MDT because they offer me better control and logging capability. Currently when task sequencer executes application install with cscript.exe there is this visible command window. Is it possible
to completely hide it without big modifications to MDT?

If you are using ZTIUtility.vbs then I recommend:

How to hide the default windows inherit menu bar

Dear All,
I am using oracle Application server 10g with windows server 2003. with oracle 11g database.
When ever I am accessing the application from client machine through browser i am getting the windows inherit menu bar at the top of the working space of the form.
I want to hide that default menu bar from viewing the application users.

How to hide the main window menu ?

Hi, Im developing a Java app that has an horizontal menu bar,which has the option to exit the program . So I want to hide, or get rid of the main window menu bar, the one that has the close, minimize and maximize buttons..is it possible ?

Hi Pria,
Here is a script that does something very close to what you requested, renaming the ANALYSIS and REPORT panels and hiding the rest. The icons used are in the "...\DIAdem 2011\Resource\Barsource\" folder, but you can provide a full path to your customer icon instead of just the icon name in that (default) folder if you prefer:

Call ActivePanels.Remove("DIAPanelNAVIGATOR")

You can disable existing panels and add new panels and also set the script code that will run when any panel is clicked on.

How to hide report server windows while sending report directlly to printer

I am calling oracle report from adf application. if the destination type is preview then report open in new tab. And if destination type is printer report open in new tab displaying report server screen. i am sending url to new tab. i want if destination is printer then no tab to be open and url must be rendered (run) in background. Here my problem is now I am getting the table values as output in the Jsp.
In Jsp I want to create Button when I click that button I need to display an external window and display the table data what ever is available that will display new external pdf.
I have developped the applcation by using of the three files table.java,tablebean.java,table.jsp and in portalapp.xml cretated the component.
Now how can I perform my action in that existed Jsp page and how to display extenal window i that how to generate the PDF.
I am in learning stage in this.
please elobarate with atleast some snippests.

Open View or Window in a external window (popup)

- I know how to open a external window from a given URL, but my problem is that I want this new external window to open and show one of my own windows and I don't know how to get the window's URL. Any Idea???

Hi,
If you want the url of the another window in your WD Component. As per my knowledge you need to have a seperate application to be created for this window also.
For Example you have Window1 (View1 is embeded in this window) and Window2(View2 is embeded in this window). Now you need the url of the Window2.
So for this purpose you need to create two applications for this WD Component.
For example App1 (Created for Window1InterfaceView) and App2 (Created for Window2InterfaceView).
Now use this below code to open the Window2 URL in a sepearate window.

Note:/Warning: We are opening another window using another WebDynpro application.
Here it creates a seperate WDComponent instacne. You can't access Window1(View1)'s existing context data in Window2(View2). The only way is you can pass some data using app/url parameters.
Apart from this as per my knowledge there is no other way to get the url for a Window.

Andreas, I think he's asking how to hide the OC4J Windows Batch window that appears when you want to run a Web forms Application Server instance on your Windows platform in order to test your forms.

You can make it start minimized if you alter the OC4J shortcut properties, setting the Run property to "Minimized". That makes it appear minimized on the Windows Taskbar. I don't think you can have it running without appearing there.

How lock or hide URL LOCATION in a external windows WDA

I am traying to hide or block the URL which i am using in a external window. I have coded this:

But, firstly the MODAL parameter doesn't work with external windows (It's Obsolete) So I can't use it, because I have to forbid the navigation between windows. I tried to close the main windows before open URL but it doesn't work either.(Appear a waring that you window wants to be closed) so then I used that:

You are complexing with 2 problem with 2 options.
1. Blocking url on the external window
2. Closing the previous window.
1. parameter model is indeed obsolete, so only has location parameter would help you to block the URL and it will not work for the requirement 2.
2. When you use exit plug and navigate to new URL, your window would close but new window would not open with address bar blocked.
No solution is fitting for your both requirements.
Probably you have seen this example application WDR_TEST_EXIT_WITH_CLOSE
See if it fits in your case.

How to Close external window?

Hi Experts,
1) For one of the development requirements, I am required to open my application in
external window. For the same, I have changed the property of the iView and page to
launch the iView in an external window and not to display in content area. Now, I am
able to display the application in a new window as per the requirement.
Now, I want to close this window from a button event on the screen, but can't find a way to close it.

If the external window contains the view of the wd component then only you can close the window.
Try like this:
Create a context attribute of IWDWindow in the calling view - component - called view and map them in all controllers.
//set the context attribute in calling view
win.show();
wdContext.currentContextelement().setWinref(win);

In onActionxxx event of the downlload button
// close the window
wdContext.currentContextelement().getWinref().destroyInstance();

HOW TO HIDE MDI WINDOW INFORMS 9I WHEN THEY RUN IN WEB BROWSER

Hi. Will any body tell me how to hide the default MDI window title in Forms 9i when it run in Web Browser. I am using the "Look and feel" property as "Generic" in Formsweb.cfg file. I tried the RESIZE,POSITION,MINIMIZE,VISIBLE FALSE properties of SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY FUNCTION, But the horizontal Bar at the top displaying "Window" on it, is displayed. OR some time form is not displayed at all. So plz help me. This kindness of any one will be appriciated.

Hi Inayat,
To remove the ORACLE icon, change the line "logo=" to "logo=x" in file formsweb.cfg.
I am not sure if it is possible to remove the standard-menu (horizontal bar with word Window, as you describe it), because as far as I know it is inheritance for the Windows OS. In other words, removing the standard menu can only be achieved if you run on another OS.
