How to highlight points on a curve

In previous versions of Photoshop, control/tab would highlight points that had been already placed on a curve. In CS4, this command no longer works.
Is there a substitute for it and if there is, what is it?

In previous version, when working in rgb, it was very easy to select the point on a curve while mousing over you image. All you had to do was to press down and you would see where that portion of the image was on the curve. If you command + click it would place a point on the curve. In CS4 you have to first click on the finger icon in the adjustment panel. Is there a quicker way of placing points on the curve?

in cs5 , with ctrl + click i was able to click on the image and add an anchor point in the curve channel RGB
and with shift +ctrl + click i was able to click on the image and add an anchor poing in the channel Red , 1 in the channel Green and 1 in the channel blue
i know cs6 doesn't have any more ctrl+mouse click , there is the targeted adjustamanent tool
i can do it with ctrl+m and call the curve
but i can't do it with curve adjustament tool
is there a way to add a anchor point in each channel red , green and blue (like the prev photoshop)?

You can use these keyboard shortcuts for Curves:
To set a point on the curve for the selected color in each color component channel (but not in the composite channel), Shift+Ctrl-click (Windows) or Shift+Command-click (Mac OS) in the image.
To select multiple points, Shift-click points on the curve. Selected points are filled with black.
To deselect all points on the curve, click in the grid, or press Ctrl‑D (Windows) or Command-D (Mac OS).
To select the next higher point on the curve, press the plus key; to select the next lowest, press the minus key.
To move selected points on the curve, press the arrow keys.
(Curves dialog box) To set a point on the curve for the current channel, Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) in the image.
If you’re instead using the Curves adjustment, simply click in the image with the On-image adjustment tool .

How to make a straight line of points in a curve in CS6

In PSCS5 and earlier, I used to be able to make a straight line of points in a curve by placing 9 points on the straight line curve. I did this by drawing a small straight line at the bottom of the curve using the pencil tool and then clicking the curve point icon.
I can't seem to do this with CS6. Any thoughts?

How can I find a turning point or inflection point on the curve?

I have encountered a problem, is seeking a turning point or inflection point on the curve.
The curve is monotonically increasing (slope is essentially the same); the slope tends to 0 after the turning point. Because of the curve is not actually a straight line, so the derivative of point by point seems comparison difficult.
First, I intercepted two new curves from the curve. One with monotonically increasing slope and another with remained constant slope. And I transform the two new curves to two absolutely straight with “regression” filter. Then find the intersection point of two absolutely straight. Through the X coordinate of the intersection point to find the corresponding Y value on the curve.Turning point is (x, y).
However, this method can only be used for a fixed curve. Because the range of the intercept values need to give the range, if the new changes in the overall length of the curve, the value of this range may no longer apply.
My question is: Is there a better way, or Diadem functions associated itself can solve this problem?
Any of your ideas and suggestions is important to me, thanks very much.

I would recommend the following generic approach, based on the pictures you submitted:
1) Create a smoothed channel from the raw data curve to remove random variations
2) Calculate a derivative/slope channel from the smoothed channel
3) Use the ChnFind() function to find the points where...
       the slope is close to zero
        the slope is positive
        the raw data is positive
        the raw data is close to the maximum channel value

How to highlight/indicate particular tree Node in Tree UI element

Hi All
Can anybody let us know how to highlight/indicate specific node in a tree struture.
currently i am able to display the tree struture with all the nodes & elements but it is always tasking firstnode as highlighted one or indicated one.
if i want to highlight specific node in a tree struture...what was the procedure or any sample code then it would be great help to us.

You can do this - by not doing it the way You describe as it will not work.
a. the external hard disk - MUST BE - Mac OS extended (hfs) formatted -
UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - will work for most things - BUT NOT FOR VIDEO (iMovie, iDVD or FinalCut doesn't matter)
b. Do not alter or move any folder named
• iMovie Event's - or -
• iMovie Project's
on DeskTop/Finder - at all
All moving's of Events and Projects must be done within the iMovie Application - then connections will not break.
(move them back and see if iMovie remembers them - then do move as described above)

I dont think you have it via standard message area. Probably you can have a TextView UI element and use the properties Design and semanticColor to achieve this. If you have a contextNode , thats mapped to the texview and message manager writing text to this node. Solution should work.
