How to home share between computers

I have my music stored on my Mac Pro and I want to be able to play the music from my MacBook Pro. I know how to do this with the old versions of iTunes that had a 'shared' area, but I don't see how to do it in the new version of iTunes which has a different window format. Does anyone know how to access my shared library from my laptop in the new version of iTunes?
If it matters, I am running Maverick on both machines.

Hi Rosdy, to get the most out of iCloud it is recommended that you use the same account between devices. Thus whenever you buy something on your phone it becomes accessible from your laptop regardless of whether your synced it over usb or not. *

Home Share between Windows 7 and iMac

Hi,
I have a iMac and Windows7 laptop.
My home share is not working between the two systems.
Bonjour service is running properly.
Each time I try to add HomeShare, the icon appears and when I click on "Done", the icon on iTunes disappears.
Please help.
I assume there should be some blocking from Windows side
Inbound rules in Windows Firewall is showing 4 Bonjour services. iTunes is set to communicate through Firewall.
Is there anything that I'm missing? I had same problem with my old Windows laptop also.
I tried home sharing using my iMac and my friend's MacBook pro, and it is working good.
Please suggest.

I assume you would like to do this wirelessly? You mean you are trying to create a network between the two computers that connects to the internet? If so:
1.) Plug the Ethernet (generally yellow) cable into your Mac.
2.) At the top of your Mac's screen is something called the menu bar. There should be something that looks like a wireless signal icon. Click that.
3.) Select "Create network" and enter the name you want the network to have.
4.) Go into System Preferences, then into Sharing, then click on internet sharing.
5.) Under 'share your connection from' (it is a drop-down menu) select Ethernet.
6.) Check the box next to 'AirPort' in the box labeled with 'to computers using:'
7.) Then click the check-box next to 'Internet Sharing' (if you do this before, you will not be able to change the settings until you have it disabled, aka no checked)
8.) On your PC, connect to your Mac's network, putting in the password if you set one.

How to Home Share on Itunes

I have a windows 7 OS and I amd trying to "Home Share" with my wife's windows 7 OS computer......
I have read a few tutorials and they all describe the steps to achieve Home Sharing. The 2 problems I found when following the tutorials is first they all mention selecting "Advanced" drop down menu. I do not have an "Advanced" menu item???? Second, after I appear to have the home sharing functional, I do not see both of our 2 libraries on the left side panel of the Itunes app as shown in all tutorials. I am able to switch from one computer's Itunes library to the other computer's Itunes library. Because I can't see both libraries at the same time, all the movement of songs between the 2 libraries can't be accomplished as decribed in the tutorials. They all depend on both libraries being visible and accessible at the same time.
What do I do to get both libraries visible on the left panel in Itunes in the windows environment.
I have checked and I have the latest Itunes on both machines (11.0.5.5)

You won't see 2 shared libraries.
You will see 1 (from the other's computer).

I have two user accounts on my computer.
How do I share my music between them with iTunes with Windows 8.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Why can't I share between computers?!?

I am trying to share music between two of my home computers and I have followed the directions in the help section but there is one big problem. It says to click the box in preferences under sharing to "look for shared libraries" but there IS NO BOX that says this. Both computers say that sharing is on but I can't see the other on either one. I know I used to do this all the time and had no problem. Don't know why its got to be so difficult now.

What operating systems are you using and how are the computers networked?

Home Share - 2 computers, can see one library but not other?

So home sharing is on on both computers, I can see the other computers library under "shared" in iTunes. However, the other computer cannot see my library.
I have tried all the firewall things, turning home sharing off and on, closing computers down and restarting.
Both are using latest version of iTunes.
The only difference between the two is my one is also synched with my iPhone/iCloud
any suggestions please?

I can home share my computers but apple tv wont accept my id and password

I have confirmed the network connection on ATV but cannot get it to accept my Apple ID and password. Restarted, unplugged, etc.

I have never had an ITunes login - only an AppleID. I used to be able to use home sharing (10.8) for the purposes of running a screen saver through Photo Stream. When I got up to put my Boy to bed for the night tonight, the ATV went into a screen saver mode. However, it was only black screen. I began to poke around and the ATV had my Lady's ID stored into the ATV file share so I loged her out.
When I tried to login to Photo Stream using my Apple ID it said that my password was inncorrect so, while sitting in my recliner I immediately went to AppleID.Apple.com and logged into my ID page with the exact info I put into the ATV. Why does the ATV not recognize my AppleID? Especially snce I cannot recall ever using ITunes as I do not have any music, nor do I even like any music?

How do I share between users on the same macbook?

I have a brand new macbook... the tool at the store wouldn't let me test drive this computer without him first putting a user account in place other than administrative rights (makes no sense to me either) Anyway, I set everything up under this username and now I have established another Admin account under MY Apple ID... as it still references his name in all of the root files. I am pretty intuitive in how to handle this issue......if it were a PC... bare with me . I'm learning.
I surmise that I am able to back everything up and simply wipe the computer as a fix but I am trying to do everything short of that if possible....

How to file share between my Quad and 2.5DP

I installed Leopard on the guinea pig G5 2.5 DP. I have 10.4.9 on the Quad.
Both non intel.
Would someone be kind enough patient and in simple terms teach me how to finally after all these years, allow files to be shared ( tiffs, jpgs etc ) from one to the other. They are each connected into a LYNKSYS ethernet hub.
is this possible to do?
if so please tell me how
i remember them telling me that i need to have permission to do so.

How to send files between computers through 8080 port?

I'm programming an application in JAVA and I need to send one file from my computer (in which I am) to another remote computer through port 8080 (I can configure and install what I want in this remote computer if needed).
I'm thinking about using servlets and JSP but I don't know if this is the better solution and I don't know how to do it.
I guess I could install a web server (tomcat) in the remote computer and make a servlet and a JSP (with a formulary to select a file). Then from my computer I could connect to the remote website and select a file, then make a submit, the servlet would proccess the request and it'd upload the file from my computer to remote computer (in which web server is hosted). The problem is that I don't know how the servlet can get the file from my computer and upload it to the remote computer.
The idea is similar to email at Hotmail,Yahoo... when you select a file as and attachment and then it's uploaded to the server.
Well, it seems complicated and I don't know if it's the best way to do it. But the most important it's that I can only use port 8080 (due to an intermediate proxy (in my computer side) that I can't configure).
Please, help, it's very urgent.
