How to I adjust the length of a track?

New to Garage Band. Took a one to one session and I can't stop playing with the program. I created a song through the Magic Garage Band feature which I am trying to match up to a video. My video is about 4 minutes but the track I created is about 1:30. How do I set the length of the track?

If the audio Regions of the Project only go as far as 1:30 you can extend each Region by looping them. This repeats the audio. Hold the cursor at the upper right corner of the Region until it changes to a loop, then drag out as far as you like.

Just drag the right end back and forth (mouse over the end of the note - a ] appears) - by holding down ctrlshiftdragging you can change the subdivision into ticks. In the Midi event editor you can do it numerically - just change the numbers displayed in the length section.

I'm making labels for playdoh for my son's bday party so I need the label to be long and short in length to fit. I inserted my image/photo onto a blank slide in keynote. I have tried to make the photo longer but it is also making it taller. I'm used to working w/Powerpoint where you stretch the corner to adjust height and width...and if you wanted only length to be stretched you simply stretch the arrow on the side and the height stays the same. Hi Lieven, I did exactly as you said except it would not allow me to check or uncheck the constrain proportions options. It appears to be unchecked but it does not give me an option to do anything under the Metrics tab. Do you have any idea why? Thanks.

Are the tracks limited to a certain length? If not, how do I increase the length of a track?

I have found that in the new version of GarageBand my tacks have been limited to some length, which i never had a problem with in the older GarageBand. What is the deal with this?

What kind of limit are you seeing? Does the bounced song appear clipped? Can't you add measures at all?
The only hard limit I know of is the size limit to the bouce file. You cannot share songs from GarageBand that exceed the limit for wav or aiff files while bouncing, even if you are exporting in mp3 format.

Hi,
I am using Flash CS4. Is there any way to adjust the length of multiple timelines at once? I am doing an animation of leaves falling from a tree. The leaves alone have 17 separate timelines on separate layers plus each has it's own guide layer.
If I had the ability to to select all of the timelines together and adjust all of their respective start and end times at the same same time, relative to each other as well as separately, life would be so much easier!
Of course I can do it timeline by timeline, no problem, but I can't seem to adjust the length of more than one timeline at a time. (no pun intended)
Even when I select more than one timeline, the double arrow only adjusts the length of one timeline. Even each guide layer's length has to be adjusted separately. I understand the benefit of this, but, testing timing and making adjustments would be so much simpler and go so much faster if I could select and drag multiple timeline lengths at the same time.
Is there any way to do this?
I'm new to Flash so, thanks in advance for your patience with me!

Your best bet is to bring your audio into DVDSP at the length you need it. You can adjust the menu loop time in the inspector but this also adjusted your video as well. DVDSP is not an editor - only an authoring tool All adjustments need to be made outside the tool.

I, too, am frustrated. This seems like something that would easily be handled within the application software. However, none of the fixes I've been offered have been very helpful. My cousin sugested using Control C and Control V to move the text to WORD. Once in WORD, you can manipulate the text on a WORD page...sometimes. I've had good and bad luck with this method. Maybe some one else can pipe up with a solution, but this would literally take 2 seconds to do for a new project. And you can create a "template project" that includes this "text" clip. Save this project and then to a get info and check "stationary pad." When you double click on this file, fcp will open with a copy of this project and you just need to do a save as.

Here is my suggestion:
Open a blank, new file (File>new>blank file) size 8.5x11"
Open the collage
Go to Select>all
Go to Edit>copy
Go back to the blank file created in step #1
Go to Edit>paste. The collage will be on its own layer
Access the move tool, and with the corner handles resize the collage. Using the corner handles should preserve the aspect ratio. If you open the rulers, you will have a point of reference as you go along.
Print a draft copy to see if it will be suitable in the frame..
