How to I connect to a custom CMS from FrameMaker Connenction Manager?

Hello,
I am using the Adobe Technical Communication Suite 5 and was wondering how
I can connect to a custom CMS, using the Connection Manager in FrameMaker 12.
Is there a write-up on  making custom connections anywhere?
Thanks,
Jim

    Regards,

    Hi,
    Yes, we do this by extending controller, but you can also try this without extending controller.
    1. Create Submit Button on TableRN using personalization.
    2. Set "Destination URI" property to like below
    OA.jsp?page=/<yourname>/oracle/apps/ak/employee/webui/EmpDetailsPG&employeeNumber={@EmployeeId}&employeeName={@EmployeeName}&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y
    Give your custom page path instead of EmpDetailsPG.
    EmployeeId and EmployeeName are VO attributes(Table Region)
    If you dont have desired attribute in VO, then write logic in your custom page controller to get required value using parameters passed from URL path.
    In this case, only personalization will do our job. Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Venkat Y.

  • How to get connection of the db lite from java stored procedure?

    Hello! All.,
    I have a written java stored procedures to assign sequence keys, and update some tables. The procedure is working as per our need by using the following connection information.
    try {
    int rowFetched = 0;
    Class.forName("oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver");
    // connect to the database
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:polite:polite",
    "system", "manager");
    My question is, It is possible in db lite to get a default connections like we use in the enterprise database
    conn = new OracleDriver().defaultConnection();
    Could anybody please shed some light on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kathir

    Hello Upi! out of curiosity if you happen to know the answer for the following, I do appreciate it.
    Hello! We are using BC/ADF JClient to select and for any DML operation against Oracle Lite database. We may have more than one user(s) log on to our application, so we requires to authenticate oracle lite user credential using JDBC dynamically.
    I am utilizing the features of JCLoginDialog.java and manipulation bc4j.xcfg file. This work real good for accepting username/password credentials dynamically, since we have multiple database in one computer I have to accept DSN name and if possible built my own configuration file.

  • How to call force render on custom effect from AEGP?

    Hi All,
              I want to call a force render on my custom effect from AEGP. I tried setting PF_OutFlag_Force_Rerender flag in PF_CMD_COMPLETELY_GENERAL (Called from AEGP via AEGP_EffectGeneric()). But it did not work. Is there any other way to force a rerender on the custom effect?
    Thanks,
    Dheeraj.

    Thanks a lot Shachar for the reply. But if I use AEGP_SetStreamValue AE
    will add the action to Undo/Redo stack. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    I don't want AE to add it to undo/redo stack. So is there any way to
    tell AE not to add AEGP_SetStreamValue() action to undo/redo stack? Or is there a call to force render from AEGP?

  • How to store Connection object and call it from other programs.

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to the database, store the connection object and use this connection object from other standalone java programs.
    Can any one tell me how to do this? I've tried in the following way:
    In the following program I am connecting to the database and saving the connection object in a variable.
    public class GetKT2Connection {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          String url = "jdbc:odbc:SQLDsn;
          String dbUser = "sa";
          String dbPwd = "sa";
          Connection kt2conn = Connection connection = java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(url, dbUser, dbPwd);
          if(kt2conn == null) {
             System.out.println("Database Connection Failure!");
          else {
             System.out.println("Connected to Database...");
         GetKTConnectionObj.storeKT2ConnectionObj(kt2conn);
    } Here is the program to save connection object in a variable.
    public class GetKTConnectionObj {
       static Connection kt2Connection = null;
       public static void storeKT2ConnectionObj(Connection conn) {
       kt2Connection = conn;
       public static Connection getKT2ConnectionObj() {
       try {
          return kt2Connection;
       catch(Exception e){
          System.out.println(e);
      return null;
    }Now from the following code I am trying to get the connection object that is stored. But this is throwing NullPointerException.
    public class Metrics_Migration {
      public static void main(String args[]) {
         try {
        java.sql.Connection connection_1 =   GetKTConnectionObj.getKT6ConnectionObj();
         catch(Exception e){
    }

    kt2Connection is null. You need to store it first, to make it not null. Otherwise it will stay null forever. And why on earth are you trying to do this THIS way?
    If you are running the two applications separately, it wont work either.

  • How do I connect to a Sybase database from Crystal?

    I have never tried to connect to Sybase data before and I am having difficulty figuring out how.  I am using CR XIR2 from my desktop and trying to connect to what I am told is a Sybase database (voicemail system).  I believe Sybase vers 12.5, but not entirely sure yet.  Postings on the forum and other sites appear to be directed toward sdk developers or other development and were not helpful.  Most of what I am reading points toward an Adaptive Server® Enterprise (ASE) ODBC Driver by Sybase.  However, I was told that was not true but the person promising to forward the information never came through. Are there additional drivers I need to install or can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks!

    Hi Wendy,
    32-bit NATIVE DRIVERS
    CRDB_P2SSYB10.DLL is the native driver for Sybase ASE.  It is used with Sybase ASE 12.5
    NOTE:  The native driver for Sybase ASE cannot be used to connect to Sybase ASA (Adaptive Server Anywhere) or Sybase ASIQ (Adaptive Server IQ).  Sybase ASA and Sybase ASIQ include their own ODBC drivers as part of their installation package.  These drivers provide the only means of connecting to Sybase ASA and Sybase ASIQ databases.
    I hope this helps you.

  • How can I connect to my database ORACLE from JavafX?

    Hi! ¿Anybody have a example to learn how could connect my ORACLE database from my javafx application?

    Just use JDBC like you do in a regular Java program.
    Either you translate the code to JavaFX (creating Java objects, etc.) or you do a Java layer to simplify access.

  • How to access "Alternative Realm" or "Custom Realm" from components like Servlet ?

    Hello,
    Says if I have alternative realm or my custom realm which implement
    "ManageableRealm" interface. How can I access the realm from other
    component, like Servlet or EJB in same WLS ? I tried using code like this
    BasicRealm realm =
    Realm.getRealm("XmlRealm","weblogic","myclass.DebugRealm");
    if (realm != null) {
    Class realmClass = realm.getClass();
    out.println("Realm is " + realmClass.getName());
    Which "myclass.DebugRealm" is classname of my own realm. This realm works
    fine when using for authentication and authorization. But when I run this
    code on servlet, it seems that it doesn't return the realm it created when
    starting WLS, I mean the one that served authentication and authorization.
    But it create a new instance of this class (I knew it 'cos I put debug
    message in its constructor). So how can I get reference to the realm
    instance which is created when starting WLS ?
    Thank you in an advance,
    Siros

    Hello again,
    Sorry to say that now I've got the way. I post here again for someone who
    may face that same problem.
    So strange that, I just changed the realm name in below code to "custom" and
    then it works !! My realm is extended from "AbstractListableRealm" class and
    I think I named my realm as "XmlRealm" in it constructor by call
    super("XmlRealm");
    But seems like its "getName()" method always return "custom", so in servlet
    code, it' rather be.
    BasicRealm realm = Realm.getRealm("custom");
    if (realm != null) {
    Class realmClass = realm.getClass();
    out.println("Realm is " + realmClass.getName());
    This works fine and no instance of realm is created. Anyway I saw that
    constructor of "AbstractListableRealm" take String argument for "name" of
    the realm. So why it's always "custom" ???
    Comments are welcome,
    Siros

  • How do i connect manually to Exchange 2013 from Outlook 2007/2010 in another forest?

    Hello All,
    I have a source organization: Windows 2003 domain + Exchange 2010 SP3 + smtp domain acme.com
    Target organization: Winows 2012 R2 domain + Exchange 2013 CU3 + smtp domain  acme.com
    We are migrating to target organization.
    I want to connect Outlook 2007/2010 to their target mailbox (Exchange 2013) from a machine which is joined to Source DOmain.
    I couldn't use autodiscover, because as the machine is joined to source domain, autodiscover it's mapping to Exchange 2010.
    It only works when I machine is joined to target domain.
    Any idea how to connect manually to eXCHANGE 2013 mailbox from a machine which is joined to source domain?
    Regards
    José Osorio

    Hi,
    Firstly, I’d like to explain, Autodiscover service can be used cross forest:
    1. the two forests must be trusted.
    2. configure a mail contact in the original forest.
    For more information, please refer to the partition named how to configure the Autodiscover service for cross-forest moves in the following article:

    I also used ?__WebLogicBridgeConfig to verify that it did pick up thewrong port.
    Here is my build date for mod_wl.so in SP10
    Build date/time: Jun 25 2001 15:09:34
    Thanks

    Make sure you are using the latest plugin. As well, add parameter:
    DebugConfigInfo=ON and make a request with a query paramater of
    ?__WebLogicBridgeConfig and you should then see the build date/time.
    We can
    then see if you are indeed using the latest plugin.
    It is not a possibility to get the source.

    And the solution where you put the WebLogic parm under location
    the
    last
    location
    over rule the previous.
    I have also tried to upgrade my plug-in from SP8 to SP10 but that
    didn't
    make
    any difference either.
    Is it possible to get the source code for the plug-in, I'm afraid
    that
    it
    don't
    follow put's all it's parm's a the vhost level no matter where in
    the
    conf
    file
    they are placed.

    Yu is correct.
    Here is another way to do it as well:
    MatchExpression /x
    WebLogicCluster=server1:port,server2:port|PathTrim=/x
    MatchExpression /yWebLogicCluster=server3:port,server4:port|PathTrim=/y
    The general syntax for this would be:
    MatchExpression exp name=value|name=value
    Where exp=Mime type(*.jsp) or exp=/x(path)
    The next argument in the list is a pipe(|) delimited list ofname=value
    pairs (ie: WebLogicHost, WebLogicPort, WebLogicCluster, PathTrim,
    PathPrepend, etc..).
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jens,
    I think you can proxy by ppath.
    <Location /x>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicCluster cluster1
    </Location>
    <Location /y>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicCluster cluster2
    </Location>
    thanks

    Configuration : WebLogic 5.1 SP8 & Apache
    I need to be able to have a configuration that looks something
    like
    this.
    www.company.com/x -> WL cluster01
    www.company.com/y -> WL cluster02
    In all the examples that I have been able to find they alway
    defines
    the
    the WL
    connection for the entire virtual host, but I need to be able
    to
    do it
    on
    a location
    basis is that possible?
    Thanks
