i have a MacBook Air and i am visiting with my parents who do not have WiFi ....
how can i connect ?
as you know, there is no Ethernet Port on the MacBook Air
can i do this remotely through their PCs ?

If they have PCs with wi-fi capability. Most/all Windows laptops will but many Windows desktops do not. The following instructions may help (both are for Windows 7 so you may have to search if that isn't what they have):

I have restored the settings many times. But i still have this problem.

If you have restored your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup and as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup with no change, have you contacted O2? Your line may need to be reset by O2, which will involve turning your iPhone off whole O2 does the reset at the server, or possibly there is a problem with your SIM card.

The FireWire cable is just for the FireWire ports on the display. The display will run without it.

i have purchased a bird box with an external USB spy cam. My macbook isn't recognising it. i have downloaded VCR software as recommended by the manufacturer, but it doesnt matter if i open that software or photo booth it only gives the option of the facetime camera.
i have read on the net about apple having problems with this sort of thing, and maybe about disabling isight but didnt want to download something to disable something which may cause me more problems. Any ideas?

You'd have to select in Sharing Preferences > Internet Sharing > Share your connection from ETHERNET, and to computers using AIRPORT.

My macbook pro cannot connect to internet via wifi

I have a Macbook Pro 2010 OS X 10.8.3. I cannot connect to internet via wifi (Air por). My Macbook Pro does not recognize my network and when I select it from the list of network it asks for my network password. when I type in my password a dialog box gives me timeout error. Please could anyone help me. I am using ethernet for my connection at the moment. Do I need to reset my macbookpro? if yes, what will happen to my applications and operating system (mountain lion)?

I've been having horrible wifi connectivity problems with my mid-2012 MacBook Air for the last several weeks. I just realized today that the problems started around the time that I upgraded to 10.9.5 on September 17th.
It's reached the point where I keep Airport Utility up in a corner of my screen so I can see whether I have internet or not before hitting Send or Post.
After reading Linc Davis' post from September 27th, above, I ran the Wireless Diagnostics when I lost internet. Internet access came back while the diagnostics were running. I pressed Continue and lost connection while the second was running. Based on Airport Utility, I do not have connectivity more than I do.
Note that Airport Utility usually shows that it can see the router, but there is no Internet access. Other times it shows that it can not see the router.
Wireless Diagnostics suggested that I restart the router (a new Airport Extreme that I installed in August.) Restarted the router did not solve anything.
All other devices, wired and wireless, are working fine. The affected device is the only one running 10.9.5 wirelessly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help! Safari / Firefox won't connect to internet on WiFi?!

I can't connect to internet using WiFi from Safari OR Firefox from my home WiFi (Apple WiFi router.)
Here are weird facts:
- They both work from this laptop at home using Ethernet
- They both worked at AppleStore WiFI today
- Internet at home is fine from other MacBook, iPad and 2 iPhones
AppleStore guy reset a lot of Safari and network settings, suggesting that would fix anything, but it still does not work from this laptop at home over WiFi?!
Any ideas?!

Thanks, Linc. FYI, I don't believe I've installed any new 3rd pary items for some time (although some of them may have updated to newer versions more recently?)
I've posted output from Terminal commands below. Let me know what you see in it!
FYI, I've been considering updating to Lion OS. Would that a) help me with this situation, and/or b) cause me other new problems?!
