How to I delete all the contacts on my iphone?

I sync my iphone with my computer at work and at home. I now have over a thousand contacts and many are duplicates (like the same name 10 times)and I would like to erase all the contacts in one action and resync with only my home computer. My "personal group" is fine but "all contacts" group is where the problem is. I use Outlook for contact management but is there another contact manager application that works better?

If you've still not found the command then,
Connect your ipnhone --> Open iTunes -->
Under Devices on the left bar of iTunes click on your iphone -->
Now click on the Tab named Info -->Scroll down to Advanced Section -->
Click the checkbox next to Contacts under the ehading Replace information on this phone -->
Now click apply or sync.
(Do not forget to make sure that it synchronizes after applying this setting)

How do I delete all the contacts from my old iPhone 3 without having to do each one individually?

If you've already deleted "everything else"...then plug your phone into a power source and: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings.
Make sure you plug into a power source first...not your computer...as on an iPhone 3G, this can take some time. When finished, all data will be gone.

  • How can I delete all the music from my iPhone and reinstall it?

I am trying to delete all the music from my iPhone 5 and reinstall it.  The names of some of the albums and the artists did not import correctly from my CDs.  I went back into iTunes and made corrections, synced my phone and no changes were made to the music on my phone.  And two of the albums (I only have albums, not individual songs) are duplicated on the phone, though they are not in my iTunes library.
I have gone into iTunes, selected the device at the top right corner, selected all the music that showed up in the window - gone to the Edit menu, selected "all" and then "delete."  The list of tracks disappears from the device list.  I then synced the phone again, and the albums are still on the phone.  What am I missing, please?  I've even shut the phone down and restarted it, synced it again, but nothing changes.
    Help, please?

Follow the instructions here or here; the first set of instructions may require a power source other than a computer's USB port, so you should have one of these before proceeding. Your iPod is a fourth generation model.

  • I have plenty of duplicated contacts in I cloud. How can I delete all the contacts in the cloud and resynchronize

I synchronized my contacts from my PC to I cloud. Unfortunately the contacts from I pad and I phone were also synchronized which gives me plenty of duplicates. How do I delete all of my contacts in I cloud to resynchronze and have the contacts only once in the I cloud.
Thank you for your valuable information. I am sure I am not the only one.

I have two groups on the iphone that were automatically generated: icloud and "on my mac".
when I erased all contacts on the computer and synchronized it with the phone, it only synchronized the icloud contacts but no the ones on my phone under "on my mac". so how can I get them into the icloud group....
    thx

  • Hi, how do I delete all the contacts in the Z10, I mean not one by one, thanks!

    Welcome to the Forum.
When asking for assistance, it's helpful to advise which version of the OS you're running -- it can make a difference in the options available to you. Go to Settings > About > OS.  You'll see 10.0.0.xxxx or 10.1.0.xxxx.
Are your contacts stored on the device, or are they synced from an email account such as Gmail or Outlook.com.  Are they from a social account such as Twitter or Facebook? For most accounts where contacts are synced to your device, you can to to Settings > Accounts and select one. Scroll down, and you should have an option "Sync Contacts".  Turn that off, and the contacts for that account will be deleted.  This takes a few minutes.
If the contacts are stored locally, go to Accounts and tap the overflow menu button (3 vertical dots at the bottom right of the page).  Tap "Clear Local Contacts".
If you wish to select multiple contacts to delete in a batch, tap and hold one contact.  From the menu that appears from the right, tap the box with a checkmark ("select more") and then return to the list and tap all the contacts you wish to delete. Then, tap the trash symbol, and they'll be deleted.
    Hope one of these helps.

  • How do I put all the contacts from my iPhone to my iPad?  In the cloud, when I click contacts it says "The contacts you previously synced with your Mac will be merged with iCould".  Is this what I want?

I want my phone contacts on my iPad and to sync anytime I add/delete/edit them....

So I'm still confused on what I need to do....
delete everything from my iPad and then use iCould to sync contacts?  Or just use iCould now without deleting everything and iCould will sync them automatically?
The latter should work if you respond Yes to merging the contacts. this will make all of the contact on icloudn AND the contats currently on the iPad available on all devices (merge them into one set of contacts).

  • How can I delete all the songs from my iPhone 5s.

The software is up to date so its not that. I have also turned off the 'show all' option and there are still tracks left. It won't let me drag the songs sideways to delete, and when I connect the phone on my iTunes and click un-sync it from my music it STILL doesn't remove all of it (despite a message saying this will remove all songs and playlists- rubbish).
Hey Apple your new itunes is awful. Any solutions would be appreciated.

    Go to your Settings.
    *General
    *Usage
then find your music, swipe over it from right to left. "Delete" option will come and and just press.
Ta da..  Just managed myself so I am very happy/proud

  • I was setting up an iCloud account.  I set it up and the wanted to delete it.  When I did that, I inadvertently deleted all my contacts off my iPhone.  I don't think there was any backup.  How do I get my contacts back?

Hi.  I was setting up an iCloud account on my son's iPhone.  We set up the account, but then decided to delete it.  When we did, we accidentally deleted all the contacts from his iPhone.  There was no backup done yet.  I tried backing up his contacts in verizon backup, but that didn't work.  Can anyone help p,was.  He lost hundreds of contacts

If you deleted the account by going to Settings>icloud, scrolled to bottom of page and tapped Delete Account, then all you have to do is go to the same page an sign in using the same ID; be sure Contacts is turned on.

How do I delete all the contacts in Icloud so that I can start over, as if I never used Icloud before?

There is an option, under Advanced, on the Info Pane in iTunes to replace all contacts on your phone with what's on your computer for the next sync only. So, edit everything on your computer & use that method.

  • How do I delete all the photos from my camera roll?

I have all the photos/videos saved to Dropbox, now how do I delete all the photos from my iPhone & iPad Camera Roll/Photo Stream? I want to delete all the photos/videos at one time, is this possible?

Connect to you're laptop. If you are using Windows:
    Click "File Explorer"
    Click "Computer"
    Click the iPhone
    Find "Camera Rolll"
Select all of the photos and delete them.
    For Mac:
No idea how macs work but it should be something like the instructions for Windows :-/
As far as Photo Stream, they will automatically be deleted after 30 days and they do not take up iCloud space so you have nothing to worry about.

  • How can I delete all my music from my iPhone 4s

How can I delete all the music from my iPhone?

I finally went to Apple Care tech support (the best!) for help.
Plug your phone into the computer.
    I-Tunes should open.
Toward the top left of the page, click on the small I-Phone icon.
    Select Music in the sidebar.
In the right window, your music should appear.
De-select what you don't want, then click Sync.
    Voila.
    I am running Yosemite 10.1.1

  • How do I delete all my contacts at the same time?

I want to delete all my contacts from my iphone 4s. I know how to delete them one at a time, but I want to know if there is a quicker way?

On the iPhone I'm afraid you are not able. I would suggest you go to the address book you are syncing to on your computer and delete them there, then re-sync. It should delete them from your iPhone.

check your account settings, possibly under advanced settings.

  • How can I delete all my contacts from the icloud?

I've been working with Apple's sometime, and now I have been forced to use iCloud after MobileMe.
After syncing a couple of devices, some things went quite wrong. My iCloud contacts are now a complete mess. I have lots of duplicates. And over 8000 contacts.
What I want to do is, is do a cleanup, and clear all the iCloud contacts, and import a new 'clean' address book from 1 mac to the icloud, which then in it's turn can be synced to all the devices?
Is dit possible? I've noticed deleting manually is a pain, because the browser doesn't really allow more then 50 contacts or so at a time, before the browser freezes.

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.
