  • How do I export my edited images from my iMac to an external hard drive?  Only the originals transfer.

How do I export edited images from my iMac Lightroom 5 programme to an external hard drive?  It seems that only the originals transfer.

In the export dialog don't choose original. Choose specific export settings for your purpose e.g. for a website, emailing or for printing.
You can choose jpeg, tiff etc and also select the size you need, sharpening and quality - click image below which shows an example of exporting jpegs in the sRGB color space.

  • How can I export an edited image to a file?

I can't seem to find a way in iPhoto 09 do this. Can I export an edited image to a file, keeping the edits intact, or do I have to use a 3rd party editing app when I edit from inside iPhoto 09?
I would prefer to use iPhoto's editing tools so should I import previously cropped images into iPhoto? If yes, what file should I use? I was wondering if anyone does this on a regular basis and if there issues doing this.
I like the editing tools in iPhoto very much. In other apps I have always cropped, resized, corrected levels and a bit of color. I am not a power user by any means and I am close to doing this all in iPhoto if I could only export the edited image to a file.
The reason I want to do this is because the printing portion of my work flow is to upload files to my merchant who prints them and are ready for nearby pickup within an hour. This is all done at a very reasonable price and the color accuracy is very close.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jim

You can edit from iPhoto by dragging to the desktop or exporting using the File -> Export command, setting the Kind to anything except original.
But you probably don’t need to:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    *For Users of 10.5 Only*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    *For users of 10.4 and 10.5* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • How do you set a background image in Pages?

I have a simple question. How do you set an image to be the background of a Pages '09 document? How do you put a JPG image behind your regular body text? Surely it's possible, but I can't figure out how to do it.

You just didn't took care to the status of your picture.
    It was an inline one
Change its status to floating and the menu item is no longer grayed.
This kind of features are described in Pages User Guide which is also for you

  • How can I create a one image per page caption sheet that includes the description in Bridge?

I am trying to find a way to create a one-image-per-page caption sheet for my workflow. I currently place each image into Word and copy the description onto the document, then repeat for each image. I am hoping that there is a way to automate this process using Bridge. I know that it can be done using Lightroom, however, that is not currently an option for me. Is this something that can be done or am I bound, like Sisyphus to Microsoft Word? I have a very limited grasp of scripting, but I feel like this is possible.
    Thanks for any help.

To create a NetBoot image, you could just put the cluster node in target mode and attach it to your PowerBook. Then use SIU to create the NetBoot image.
If you're trying to create a backup image of the disk, use hdiutil, or put in in target mode and create the image with Disk Utility.

  • How do I export full-sized images to ePub?

All the pics are reduced in size when exported to ePub. They look fine in iBooks, but do not go to full screen when double-tapped.
Must I replace all the files in the Images folder (in the unzipped ePub) with those of a correct size? (Liz Castro says max dimension 1600px to get full size.)
    Thanks.

Hi Steve and thanks for your quick answer.
I guess I have to do it manuallly... which is a lot of work!
I am learning a bit more about edit the epub and updating the xhtml files, so maybe through there i could find a solution and create two tables of contents.
It seems next version of ID will have the index feature updated, which is great.
At the moment I am not even using the index tool, is just a toc with two levels of headings. And I can't export two tables at the same time.
I wonder how people do it in other books.
    Thanks again.

  • How do you export a still image from a sequence ?

I could easily export a frame as still image in CS3 (File / export / ...)
But how do you do this in CS4 ??... Adobe found another way of making something simple so difficult !...  I try to export media, then select a still image format, make sure ''export sequence'' is *not* selected, but when I look at the output, what I get is not where I had stopped the cursor and appeared on the monitor, but I get the first frame of the sequence instead.
What am I doing wrong here ?
    Thanks,
    Rob

Your way should work, it worked for me.
    Try reading this:
Select a clip in the Project panel or a Timeline.
Choose File > Export > Media.
In the Export Settings dialog box, select a still-image format from the Format menu. See Export Settings Format options.
If tabs are not visible below the Summary pane, click the Advanced Mode button.
On the Video tab, deselect the Export As Sequence option (if it is selected).
(Optional) To deinterlace the frame, select Progressive from the Field Type menu.
(Optional) To correct the pixel aspect ratio for display on computer screens, select Square Pixels from the Aspect menu.
Click the Output Name hot text.
Browse to the location where you want to save the still-image file, type a filename for it, and click Save.
In the Export Settings viewing area, drag the playhead to the frame you want to export as a still image.
    Click OK.
Check no.10 did you drag the playhead in the export settings viewing area? Or did you do that on the timeline?
    Good luck.

I found a promising javascript for Acrobat to split spreads to single pages... there were couple of flaws (cover single page was splitted too, some interactive elements were not deleted when page was cropped and element was left outside of crop area...) I sent a comment to an author of that script about those problems...
But I think this script could be usefull even with those problems, at least if you have a long document to process. You can always put an extra page to first and last spread and keep it while exporting, and those non-deleted elements may be deleted manually...
Address and instructions how to add it to Acrobat´s Document menu can be found at:

  • How to Batch Export Wide Still images

    Hello,
I'm currently working on a project that uses Widescreen. I have no problems exporting the movie project to DVDstudio pro file, but when I try to Batch Export the Still Clips I took, it makes it into 4:3 size, rather than 16:9. Because of this, pictures look squished. How would I fix this since I didn't see any options in Batch Export for wide.
I'm using Final Cut Pro 5.0.4

As mentioned above, that is a possibility. You haven't said how you plan to use them. If quality is paramount I would advise against doing a "destructive" stretch on them unless you're moving them to a final definitive size as in web graphics. There's little enough resolution in SD video to start with.
If you're using them in the print world they will fare much better if they are stretched within the production app. Just ignore the aspect ratio and tell it they're an inch by 9/16ths, or 16x9 cm, or whatever system you're working with.
If you dig around in Photoshop, they have a system to identify and deal with with NTSC tall pixels, perhaps they have one for anamorphic as well. More confusing than helpful to me.

  • How to check the DPI for images on pages

    hi,
I want to check the DPI for images programatically, is there any function available in acrobat SDK,
If not what other option we have to check the DPI for images programatically.
    Thank you,

You don't mention which parts of the SDK, but you can use the Preflight feature of Acrobat via either JavaScript or C/C++ (plugin) to generate a report of images in a document and their information (including dpi).
You can also write a plugin to iterate over each image individually and get its properties.

  • How to lock all of my images in Pages

I am using my iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.2. to create documents in Pages using available templates. As long as I am using the original placeholders for images in my document I am able to lock them. However, I need additional pictures. When I add these, I am not able to lock them. What am I doing wrong?

  • Cant export large satellite image in BMP format

I loaded a satellite  image stored in TIFF format 35681x16716 x 24 bits per pixel
I wanted to convert it to BMP but when I want to save as there was no such option why?
There wasn't PNG either. GIMP a free software program was able to load the TIFF and export as PNG
CS5 cant even do that.  But GIMP could not export to BMP as it died on export.
So my question is how do I get this to work? How do I export this huge image to BMP?

I wanted to convert it to BMP but when I want to save as there was no such option why?
Because all image formats are constrained in some way and PS in particular will not save/ export anything beyond 32000 pixesl to those legacy formats, even if they may in theory allow more. It simply can't be done.

  • How to crop an image in Page?

How can I ACTUALLY crop an image in Pages to the size of the mask? Reducing image size des not work, it reduces the size of all images by reducing the quality. It does not in fact cut images to the mask shape. Any ideas?

When using the mask you get the images put behind the mask. You can change the size of the mask if you like to get the part of the image you want showing. That is the masks behavior.
If you really want to crop the image first you have to use another application for the cropping. There are many out on the net that you can try.
Download the Pages User Guide from your Pages Help menu. On page 138 in the English version it describes Masking images.
