How to I get my contact names to show up in messages and phone calls?

My contact names have stopped showing up in messages and phone calls.  How do I fix this problem?

Did you change your region settings recently? (if so, set it back to the region you had before)
Have you checked to see if your contacts are syncing properly in iCloud? (do the contacts match what you have online?)

you are talking about widescreen setting? I don't think it does that in texting. Hope it will be taken care of in a future update.

  • I have an iphone 4s which I recently updated to iOS 7.0.4. Now my contacts no longer show addresses or notes, although the phone numbers are displayed. All the correct information is still in iCloud, but how do I get the Contacts folder to show all info?

Since I updated to iOS 7.0.4 on my iphone 4S, I can no longer see addresses or notes in my contacts on my phone. The information still exists in iCloud online.  How do I get full contact info onto my phone?
There is another problem which may be related.  My desktop computer at work is running Windows 7, and I was recently upgraded to Office 2013.  Outlook is not showing contacts on my computer any more, just in iCloud.  However, when in iCloud, it does included addresses and notes, so I don't think this is caused by the same error as the iphone problem,
I have refreshed, reinstalled and rebooted, to no avail.

I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail.  That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine.  Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook.  I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

my iphone 4 was backed up but my contacts did not move over to my iphone 4s anyone know how to get my contacts back

If you're using your phone as recommended, your contacts reside on your computer in Outlook, Address Book, or with a cloud service.  Just synch your contacts to your phone from your computer or cloud service.

  • How do i get my contacts back after i seleted them from my phone can i go through icloud??

    plz help me

Only if you backed up your phone to iCloud (which is different with syncing your contacts with iCloud).  If you have been syncing your phone with iTunes you can restore your phone from your most recent backup, which will replace the data and settings on your phone with those from your backup (losing any more recent information).  To do this, first open iTunes but do not connect your phone.  Then go to iTunes Preferences and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  Next, connect your phone to your computer and when it appears on the left sidebar of iTunes right-click on it and select "Transfer Purchases".  When this finishes, right-click again and select Restore from Backup.
If you haven't been syncing your phone, or backing it up to iCloud, or syncing your contacts with a supported application such as Outlook or mac Address Book, then there is no way to get your contacts back.

  • How do I get the contact photo to full screen size when receiving a call after iOs 7.1 update..?

how do Iget the contact photo to full screen size when receiving a call after iOs 7.1 update..?

I went to the link. I selected iPHONE.  There was a big iPhone icon above the comment box -- so I was absolutely, positively on the right page.  I spent five minutes or so crafting a constructive comment as to why I wanted the full photo feature back on incoming calls on iOS7.  Then...i noticed the box below the comment area asked 'What operating system are you on?'.  And the drop down selection list included every operating system since Job's garage days -- but not one single iOS entry.  No iOS entries on an iphone page.  Unless I'm missing something, I think anyone writing a feedback comment is wasting his/her time.

  • How do you get table column names to show one time per page

I have a report where I want the column names to show one time per page.
I have the table with the column names set below the header and above the
    'for-each Row'.
When I view the report in PDF format the colunm names show only one time on the first page and on the other pages the column names do not show at all. If I view the report in RTF, the same thing happens, shows column names on the first page, but not on the other pages after that.
I highlighted the table and went to table properties, clicked on ROW tab and then checked (Repeat as header row at the top of each page) and it still does not work for PDF or RTF format. I have looked at other forums with this issue and it doesn't work for me in PDF format.
Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong.....
I appreciate anyone that can help me.
    Thank you,
    Susie

I figured out what I was doing wrong.
I was creating a seperate table for the column names and not using the table where the column names where created originally. I deleted the column names from the original table and created a seperate table above that table with the column names only.
So I went back to the original table and highlighted the row with the column names and went to table properties/ROW tab/ and clicked (Repeat as header row at the top of each page) and now it works perfectly in PDF format where the column names show one time for each page. Deleted the other table where I had the column names only.
    thanks

  • Contact name not displaying for texts/messages, only phone number does

When I turn on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2) in the morning (I shut it off at night), any received text messages (iMessages or standard texts) only show the phone number of the person who sent the text and the standard tone for texts is heard, when it should display the name and play the special text tone I setup on specific contact records.  It is not til after I use the Touch ID or enter my passcode that the name of the contact who sent the text displays AND the special text tone for that contact is heard.  This not normal behavior.  Even upon startup on my former iPhone (5), any texts received displayed the contact name and played the appropriate tone when the phone was turned on during the morning.  HELP!  I believe this is a bug; but, would like to have this confirmed.  If it's a setting or combination of settings that I'm missing in iOS 8.0.2, please let me know.
My contacts have never been stored in iCloud nor do I plan to use iCloud.
    Thanks!

Try this: when device is ON remove the battery, wait a minute and turn the battery back to the device.

  • On 4s, Contact name not showing up in messages.  I see the contacts phone number.

On my previous iPhones when using Messages, the contact name appeared at the top of the screen.  Now I see their 1+xxx-xxx-xxxx (phone number).  People who haven't updated their iPhone's yet now don't see my name in Messages, they see my 1+ phone number.  What's up with that?

He says "Somehow there was two different catagories - "All Contacts" and "Contacts." All of my contacts were in "All Contacts," I dragged them over to "Contacts" and Messages picked them up." However, I don't understand where these two categories are.
    Thanks

  • How do I get the contacts number to show next to their name please?

It's my first time having a Blackberry.  I have the Curve 8520.  I've been trying to work this out for 3 days and it's driving me nuts!
What I'm trying to do is to send a text message to my contacts, informing them of my new number.  I know I can only send a message to 10 people at a time and also how to add them to the message but can't for the life of me work out how to add their numbers next to their names in the contacts list.  I'm used to Ericcsson where this is easy to change in the settings Display options.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have done the following:
You can change how your contacts appear in all applications, including the phone, message list, contact list, and calendar.
On the Home screen, click the Options icon.
    Click Language.
    Change the Name Display field.
    Press the Menu key.
    Click Save.
Language isn't in the Menu so I'm stumped.

    Hi,
Sorry, but do you mean filename - not sure what file number you refer to?
For Filename, on the View menu ensure that Details and Show File Names are both checked. You may have to make the size of the thumbnails slightly larger (using the slider on the top of the windows) as the information can't be displayed if thumbnail too small.

  • How do I get my contact's photos to display full screen for incoming calls?

I noticed today that when I get an incoming call it no longer displays "full screen".  I keep missing calls because it now only displays as a banner at the top of the screen that someone is calling and their photo (if I've assigned one to them) is a tiny thumbnail.
Did I only just notice now that this is another 'great upgrade' with the new IOS, or is this some weird glitch with my phone?  I've been wondering how I've been missing calls in the past week, but just happened to catch it today after I had been using the new map app and wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence or if it's somehow connected..?
Is there any way to change this or am I stuck with it this way??

I've never added my contact on my computer, I've always done it through my phone (I didn't know you could do it through the computer).  The problem is not the photo, it's that the call doesn't come in and take up the full screen.  Now when a call comes in, it displays as a banner at the top of the phone where the time and date normally would be, so I don't notice anyone's phoning.
As far as I can recall, it's only started happening since yesterday after I used the new map app.  I've checked my notifications settings and the phone settings and so far as I can see, everything is set the same way it always was.  I checked my hubby's phone to see if it's maybe something new since this last update to IOS6, but the call displays full screen (regardless whether the contact has a photo associated to it or not) and not a banner at the top of the screen like mine.
I still don't know how to change this back.  Any other suggestions?
