I just got a new iPhone but before I could restore from my old iPhone back up - I needed to update it - i had to set up as new iPhone to do this - how do I now go back to set up to get my old iPhone restored onto my new phone

Are you logged in with the same account that was used to activate the phone ? If you are, and the apps aren't showing as free, then try logging out of your account by tapping on it at the botto of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if they then show as free.

What backup software are you using? Assuming TimeMachine then in the TM preferences ==> options make sure the EHD is not in the excluded list

How do I get my new laptop to recognize my home share? It will not recognize my old laptop

I am having trouble getting my new HP laptop to recognize my itunes "homeshare". My old laptop sees the new laptop, but my new one doesn't connect with the old laptop. Any suggestions?

Follow these steps:
1- Plug your iPhone into your laptop.
2- Launch iTunes
3- After your device's been recognized, sellect it
4- Then go to the "Summary" tab, on the top of iTunes window just below the apple logo
5- On the "Options" sellec (put a check mark) on the "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected" box
6- Apply your change
That's it, from now on whenever you plug your iPhone into your laptop, iTunes will start automatically

How do I get my newer version of iPhoto back?

I had iPhoto 7.1 (got there just from normal software upgrades - no purchases) and it began having trouble opening. It would begin to launch then just crash. I decided I needed to reinstall iPhoto. When I FINALLY found out how to do that, it put me back at iPhoto 5 and now I can't open my library because I don't have the newer version, and I can't upgrade to the newer version because I have no "eligible iphoto" app available. How do I get back to where I was?

How do i get the new blank tab page back into the tab bar

i took the new blank tab off the tab bar how do i put it back on?
and when i am on a page and click the number to go to the next page, it opens in a new tab. how do i make it open in same tab.?
one more, how do i make it so when i am on a page i can right click the mouse and make the link open in new tab?

I went to upload new music to my husbands phone (5c) which had never been plugged in to our computer. I accidentaly hit restore from old iphone, and now his phone is restored to his old iphone. He lost all new contacts,and photos,etc.Can he get this back?

It replaced everything with old phots, ringtones, sounds, and his homepage for safari is different.

Reset the phone in settings and when the set up gives you the option to back up from iTunes or iCloud. It's possible to get most of the lost information back if you back up from iCloud after resetting the phone.

Connect to iTunes, right-click on your phone and choose Transfer Purchases to import any apps not already in your iTunes library. You can use the free app My Contacts Backup to back up your contacts. This will back up your contacts as an attachment to an email. Send this email to yourself and you can later open it on your iphone (after restoring) and tap on the attachment to import these contacts back to your phone.

That would be my suggestion. Just keep using the common one for purchases in the stores. Then each get another AppleID using a free gmail, AOL, hotmail, MS Live or whatever email account.
Delete your current iCloud account and login with the new AppleID, and logout of Messaging and then backin with the new AppleID. Now you have a shared iTunes/App store account, but completely separate, independent iCloud and iMessage accounts.

How do I get the new version of iTunes to display images with podcasts (such as those from UK national Gallery)?

Since installing iTunes 11 for mac the box at bottom L corner that used to show CD covers has gone - shame but not disastrous. However, i've also lost the illustrations that were transmitted with podcasts - such as those from the UK's National Gallery and the Queen!!!

Default apps are part of the iOS and cannot be deleted. Search all home screens and all folders and/or search for it with Spotlight, that will tell you what folder it's in.
If not found, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

Well, I believe I found it.....
When I connect the IPhone the device name pops up under devices in the selection column. Right click on the device name and select "Back-up".....
If this is incorrect please let others know as I won't be able to because my wife will have destroyed all computers in the house for losing her data.
