How to I get rid of SweetIM permanently and easily?

Whenever I open Firefox, I get a tab that loads SweetIM. I have tried following SweetIM's own instructions to uninstall it but it is very complicated and doesn't seem to work in the long run. Is there a simple and permanent way to uninstall this extremely annoying programme?

You can do a search on the <b>about:config</b> page for sweetim and reset involved prefs via the right-click context menu to their default value.

My active accounts are clean, but the On My Mac gmail keeps and continues to repopulate all email, even after I trash them.
If you're seeing messages remaining in GMail's All Mail folder after deleting them, that's normal. GMail keeps all messages in there, even after deletion, unless you manually delete stuff using GMail's web interface. See Hiding GMail’s “All Mail” from Apple Mail.
If you're actually having trouble deleting e-mail from an On My Mac mailbox, there's probably something wrong with your mailboxes.

Sweet IM can be uninstalled through the control panel, by going to
1. Start
2. Control Panel
3. Add / remove programs
From the add / remove programs look for anything that has Sweet IM in the name and remove. I have heard some reports of it also embedding itself within the browsers as well. Do you see Sweet IM information within your browser as well? If so what browser do you use?
If you are unable to find sweet im, knowing information such as what model computer you are using and what operating system will be beneficial as well.

Yes, it's seems like a poor design decision.
By putting the date on the line below the Note title in the Notes Index, the app shows half the number of notes per page AND if you have a large number of notes, it takes twice as long to stroll down.
I doubt the designer actually uses the app.

You'll have to restore the device, but with out the restricions passcode you'll have to put it into recovery mode first.

If you are referring to Safari on your Mac then in Safari > Preferences (command-comma), on the General tab you can change 'new windows open with' and 'new tabs open with' to be your homepage instead of 'top sites'

FILES: how do I get rid of EXEC status and set them to open with "none"?

I dropped my laptop and damaged the drive. My computer forensic friend salvaged specific files.
Transfered to a FAT32 drive and then copied to Mac.
Most of files are fine with the exception of some setings files that showed up as Unix executables. The few original files that I have to compare them to, show "Document" as the file "Kind" and the "open with" shows "none" in Get Info
When I look at the contents of the files they look fine. How do I get rid of the EXEC status and set them to open with "none"?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These are settings files for a set of .wav samples for an AU drum plug-in.

If you have xcode installed, you might want to find out what the type and creator code for these files should be. Since the files have visited a FAT32 file sytem, you will have lost all resource forks as well as type and creator HFS+ meta data.
So assuming you do have xcode, create a new AU drum plug-in file then in the terminal:
