How to i resize a larger 72ppi image to better quality smaller image but for correct size to paste into flyer

Hi, I am trying to resize a larger 16cm wide image saved at 72dpi to a smaller better quality 5cm wide image for invites for an art exhibition I am having. I figure there must be lots of information in the pic given that it is large, I just want to condense it into a smaller image. If I adjust the size to 5 cm wide it changes the dpi to 230 which would be better for printing (the 72 dpi is way too grainy). However when I paste it into the flyer I am making in photoshop it pastes as a massive picture. I then tried to drag the corners in to make it the right size and it became even grainier than a 5cm wide 72dpi image. I hope that makes sense to someone. So basically I need a 5cm wide document size that I can put in my small flyer that is the best quality I can make it! Thanks in advance!

Up-sampling from 72ppi to 300-600ppi can result in blurry images.  It's always best to start with a good quality, high resolution image if you can.  Go to Image > Image Size.  When up-sampling, use Bicubic Smoother setting.  When down-sampling, use Bicubic Sharper.  See screenshot.

  • How can I reduce a large podcast video without losing quality?

I am in the process of putting online a podcast video, that I have exported for ipod with quicktime. However, the file is rather large (100MB) and it is complicate for me to break it into smaller files. As I start iWeb it warns me that the file is large and it would require long download times. I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the size of podcast/ipod files without compromising quality too much.
    Thank you very much!

  • How can i make a large document without loosing the quality of the image

I am doing this design of about 6 meters wide for a banner my worry is how to maintain the image quality

    ashmagination,
You may work at a suitable scale, then save as PDF with a custom page size and scale up when printing from Acrobat/Reader.
You only have to worry about raster images and raster effects, if any.
Raster images/effects must end up in the required resolution, so when working at a scale you must ensure that the resolution in PPI is is many times higher as you are scaling up (if you work at 1:10 the final size, the PPI must be 10 times the required value at the final size).

  • MAKE A IMAGE FROM TILING OF SMALL IMAGES

    HI,
I want to make IMAGE FILE using number of other image tiling together!! how?

What have you tried?  What thoughts do you have?  Have you looked at the Vision Utilities on the Vision and Motion Palette?
I've not done this, myself, but I did make a black-and-white checkerboard pattern (with the size of the checks an input parameter), outputting a 2D U8 array that was "turned into" an image.  The functions necessary to "tile an image" do seem to be present in Vision Utilities.

  • Better Quality Still Images

When I place a still image into Final Cut Pro the image quality goes down dramatically. To the point where some of the faces on the pictures are unrecognizable. Does anyone know how to solve this issue so that the image quality stays the same? Just to let you know...the quality is still low even after I render it.

Search around a little there is a lot of info on this subject. Here's a start for 'ya.

  • Method better quality of image ?

Hello I would like to know which is best the method to obtain best quality while leaving in dvd to import it in final cut hd, to make an assembly and to record it in a video format.
Me did J use handbrake to convert my file dvd (video ts) into mp4 for L to import in final cut, then I export it in quiktime and there quality is not very good?
    Thank you for your assistance

Handbrake only converts to MPEG4 and, as stated, you don't want to work in that format
Use MPEG Streamclip to convert to DV. Its free but you have to buy the MPEG playback component from Apple
    Or you could buy DVxDVD
Or, if you have a DV cam, hook up a DVD player to the cam and the cam to the Mac via Firewire and capture using Easty Setup DV Converter and Capture Now

  • How to resize large images without losing quality

Hello I have an image that I am trying to use as an email. Right now it is 2108 pixels. And for an email it should be 600 px. I created this image in illustrator as vectors and type.
Whenever I go into image size and i change it to be 600 pixels it gets extremely blurry. I have also tried converting this to a smart object... doesnt work. How do I resize my large image to be smaller without losing quality???

here is an example sceenshot of the opening dialog (.ai opened directly in Photoshop)
your illustrator vector should be rastered sharp at 100% actual Pixels in Photoshop
that is where you want to evaluate sharpness in Photoshop...
then File> Save for Web & Devices (and drag that saved file icon into an open web browser)
still no joy, embed your saved image here using the forum's camera icon...

  • How can I resize a pdf page content with annotations and highlights in Acrobat Pro?

How can I resize a pdf page content with annotations and highlights in Acrobat Pro while maintaining page size and annotation/highlight interactivity? I've tried to use the crop tool in Acrobat Pro (9) and the page does resize, but the highlights and annotations go all over the place. I specifically need to scale the page content smaller (83%) but maintain page size and annotation/highlight to content connection and interactivity.

An old trick (not recommended) would be to print to a new PDF with the page size selected but a scaling of the content. Only print the document, not the markup, to a new PDF. Close that PDF when done and reopen the old one (or maybe a copy of the old one for safety) and use Document Replace pages and select the new document to replace your current pages. You will then have to go back through the markup to locate it all correctly. There may be a more elegant way, but this may be the fastest.

  • How do you change the location of a small image within an IMAQ image display?

I have an image that exactly fills the display. But then I want to extract a portion of the image and display that small piece, but have it be in the same location as it was before, not centered in the display (essentially I want to crop the image but leave it in the same location). I tried the 'Image Center Position' property node for the image display, but is resets itself to the center of the display. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Marty

You misused the Image Center position property : it works only on images larger than the display area. Have a look at the simplified version of your sample vi.
One way to achieve your objective will be to create a black (or white) background image, with the same size as the original image and to paste the small piece over this BG.

  • Cropping web images to paste into power point

I have a web image that I would like to crop using photoshop elements, and paste into power point with out a background.
I used the magnetic lasso tool to out line the crop area, select cut, and when I paste it into power point, a rectangular background comes with it. How can I paste just the selected area?

It is probably a format thing
Jpegs do not have transparency. That is probably what you are using.
Gifs have transparency. I think Tiffs and PNGs do also.
    Try one of those.
I just noticed you used copy>paste
Maybe you should try insert>picture>from file.
If you can't get this to work, try matching the power point background in PSE. That will give you the illusion of transparency.

  • HT201359 how can i find out what all the charges on my checking account are for?

how can i find out what all the charges on my checking account are for?

If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases - the most recent purchase is above the list. I'm not sure if that shows auto-renewing subscriptions (I don't have any so I can't check).
If you can't find the charges and you haven't added or changed your card details on your account (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
