How to I select artwork on a page to transfer to another image?

I have created a comic character on an image and it has a white background.
However when I scanned it the background is not evenly white so when I try to select the background and inverse selection it does not do a clean trace of my character.
Is there a feature in PS CS6 whereby I can trace the outline of my artwork on the page by defining the edges?

Yes, Terry, there are several.
The MAGIC WAND, LASSOE TOOL, PEN TOOL.
ALL HAVE A LEARNING CURVE BUT magic wand is place to start. set its brush to a relatively small size, click, hold down and drag as you see MARCHING ANTS. NOTE, MENU BAR HAS ADD, SUBTRACT SELECTIONS.
Then copy and paste into the layer, and there are other ways as well.

Hi,
"cookie" is a reserved name. If you want to write to a session scope attribute called "cookie" then you have to call #{sessionScope.cookie}. If you want to use EL to set and read from cookies then you will have to use
#{cookie.cookieName}
Note that #{cookie} writes to and returns a map

How to Auto Select some RadioButton on page load using ADF/JSF

Hi,
I am learning ADF and need some help. I have multiple radio buttons and couple of text boxes on my page. How can I make some radio button be selected based on some value from a database table and also populate the text boxes with the corrosponding value when a page loads. Any tips on how it can be done using ADF. Any sample tutorial will be helpful.

Hi,
when you e.g. use ADF BC then the radio button should be selected automatically based on the value of the attribute. If the row is new then you can have a default value specified in the ADF BC ViewObject attribute.
However, if you just dragged the radio button and checkboxes onto the page - not using any ADF binding - then you will have to create a managed bean with a field variable (incl. setter/getter methods) to link the radio button's value property to it using Expression Language

How do you select everything on all pages? "Select All" does only a single page.

I can't seem to figure out how to select everything on all 20 pages of my document at one time. The "Select All" function only selects everything on a single page. (which is hardly "all")
I am making a PDF and creating my text to shapes/outlines. Do I seriously have to "select all" and "convert text" 20 times, once on each of my 20 pages? Its taking forever. Help me streamline, please.

For whatever reason, there have been several posts about converting text to outlines. It really needs to be emphasized that converting text to outline is extremely poor workflow and should be avoided at all cost. If the sole reason for converting to outlines are font issues, you need to learn how to make PDFs correctly. And if it's a printer request, you should (if possible) solicit quotes elsewhere. Wasn't there a poster a few weeks back who neglected to save a copy of his file before coverting text to outlines? Just for that reason alone you should never outline text. Guarantee that day will come when you forget to dupe the ID file so you can edit again at a later time. I would package a job and send the printer the ID file along with fonts and images before I sent them PDF with fonts converted to outlines. And I haven't done either of the two in years.

How do you SELECT ALL on a page (used to CTRL L-CLICK in margin then mouse over selection)?

In Pages 4x you could hold CTRL+LEFTMOUSE while in the margin area then select multiple things on that page you were looking by mousing over them (including selecting all). Now you have to go one item at a time to delete? Is there a work-around?

ctrl + a selects all.
You are not selecting anything when you check all boxes. You are sinmply checking all boxes.

How do I select multiple text in Pages

I'm using the newest version of pages.
In MS office WORD, I can hold the Ctrl key and with multiple klick in the text I can select multiple text.
Does pages has the similar function?

Not possible in Pages 5.2.2, this has been removed by Apple along with 110 features.
In Pages '09 you hold down the command key, the exact same equivalent as in Word for Windows.

How do you select/move multiple clips from one timeline to another?

Has to do with combining multiple edls from Avid - required due to an issue with duplicate reel names in the original Arri footage. I can move them one at a time, but it is very tedious. Is there a way to select multiple clips and move them together?

Actually discovered the magic of the shift key.
IRCP Beauty doesn't recognize multiple timelines in a session, so first you have to at least get the footage on multiple tracks in the same timeline. Shift + drag on the track will allow you to move it to another timeline. Also Shift + drag on the center of the first clip in a sequence will slide the entire sequence down - which is how timelines end up getthing offset all the time. Also, if there are multiple tracks in a timeline and some are locked and some aren't, Shift + drag on a clip will slide ALL UNLOCKED tracks in the timeline.
Finally, Shift + click on either in or out marker moves both points up or down the timeline.

The easiest way to do this would be to open a new document, making it the size you want the finished product. Drag each photo onto the new document (having done any editing to the photos before doing so), sizing them as needed.

How do I select ProRes 422 on Log and Transfer window?

I went to preferences in upper right of log and transfer window, saw ProRes 422 was listed there but, still not seeing my clips after ingest say ProRes 422.
I have Capture preset also set to ProRes 422 in FCP 6.06

Yes, it only has that choice of ProRes 422 but, its not in that format after ingest.
I select TRANSCODE TO and it only has Apple ProRes 422 check marked.
Format says HDV1080p30 under compressor column in my log in Bin not ProRes422.
Wish I knew why its not importing correctly.
24p imports and converts to ProRes422 perfectly but, Im in 30p on this project.

The tutorial linked to by Brancam is a good one for learning to use AirDrop. But I don't see a share icon in the videos app. Since that is the case you cannot share videos in the videos app via AirDrop.
If those are personal videos that you added to your iPad by syncing with your computer, use your computer to transfer the videos to your friends computer or send the videos to them via email.

You have a datatable in which each row is a question, correct?
Also in each row you have 5 possible answers that are in a radio, correct?
So,
You need to put in your datatable model, a question, and a list of answers (5 in yor case) and the selected one.
So you will have a get to the question, an SelectItem[] list to populate the radios and another get/set to the selected question.
ex:

Selecting multiple objects in Pages '09

Hi everybody,
I was just wondering how to easily select multiple objects in Pages, as in Keynote. I mean, in Keynote you can just drag the mouse over the objects you want to select, and that's it. But in Pages I haven't be able to do that (not even with option or command keys), so I have to press shift and click on every object I want to select. This is quite tedious when you want to select many objects.
Any help on that?

Thanks to both, I already sent my feedback to Apple, and I really hope that iWork X comes out soon, with more wonderful features.
I have tried fruhulda's advice and it works, my thanks for that! My question now is: Why Apple doesn't provide any help on that? I knew that cmd-A selected all the floating objects on the document, but I needed to select only a few of them. That was the only Keynote feature I was missing (apart from the themes, with all those predefined colors, backgrounds, textures...).

Using PSE9, how can a copy a layer and its layer mask to another image?
The on-line help contains a topic on how to copy a layer but trying the different methods in the help topic results in either nothing being copied or just the layer without its layer mask being copied. Thanks.

How are you copying? If you float your images, so they are both partially visible in the work area, make the one with the to be copied layer active. Then drag the layer from the layers palette onto the other image. Now you should have both the layer and the mask on the second image.
