  • How to identify all jobs that were running at a particular point in time?

    TES 6.1.0.391
From time to time, we have a need to identify all jobs that were running at a particular moment in time on a particular agent (we have about 800 agents)...eg "what was running ("Active") at 09:03:42 a.m. two days ago on agent XYZ?"
I've used other job schedulers, and have written queries to extract that info, but I thought before I work on one for Tidal that I would ask the community....how are you getting this info?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I had some time over the weekend and was able to come up with something of use.

plz tell me how to find the job and job ststus from RSPCM...and how to stop that job in SM37
    thanks,
    jack

    Hi Jack,
    RSPCM: T.Code
This transaction is used to monitor the process chains
    First:
here you need to add the process chains into the sheet
    Second:
Then you can monitor the process chains in this transaction code
Like you can see the :  status ,proces chain ,Last run date ,Last run time ,Log ID
Status : Green when sucessful,Yellow when running & Red when you get errors
Now when yoy click on any of the process chain in RSPCM you will go to the LOG VIEW as you see in RSPC transaction
    SM37:T.code
This transaction is used for Job Overview
you can see many options in SM37
    like Released,active,cancelled,finished,etc
Just select the ACTIVE  jobs and also pass STAR in JOB ID & USER ID
here you can only see the active jobs
    Goto Step in toolbar
    select the program displayed
then chose option GOTO - Variant in main menu bar
in the variant you can see the job belong to which Process chain
if you want to cancel this job come back to SM37 Display screen
Select the Job and select the JOB DETAILS tab in Tool Bar
Collect the WIP ( Work Permit ID)
Go to SM50 T.code and find the WIP
in Main Menu Bar you find the option Cancel with Core choose this it will cancel the Job

  • How to identify what are all the events are created in background jobs?

    Hi all,
how to identify what are all the events are created for  background jobs. And what events gets triggered for a particular job.
    thanxs
    haritha

    Hi Haritha,
JOB is a program which starts to a determined point of time and executes some standard programs in the system. JOBs can be planed to a determined point of time on the regular basis (every night, for example) or to some discret time moments. So, the JOB can be planed and then will be started automatically without the manual start.
Realtime programs are understood in the most cases as actual program execution which is started by somebody to the actual moment of time.
Typically per JOBs some special processes will be started that should be executed automatically and regularly: for example, IDOC application, some correction reports, statistic updates etc.
Standard jobs are those background jobs that should be run regularly in a production SAP System These jobs are usually jobs that clean up parts of the system, such as by deleting old spool requests.
    Use
As of Release 4.6C, the Job Definition transaction ( sm36 ) provides a list of important standard jobs, which you can schedule, monitor, and edit.
Standard jobs are those background jobs that should be run regularly in a production SAP System. These jobs are usually jobs that clean up parts of the system, such as by deleting old spool requests.
for more information you can go thru the following thread:

    About Events:
Events have meaning only in the background processing system. You can use events only to start background jobs.
Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a named condition has been reached. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for the event.
    Types of Events:
There are two types of events:
1.)System events are defined by SAP. These events are triggered automatically when such system changes as the activation of a new operation mode take place.
2.)User events are events that you define yourself. You must trigger these events yourself from ABAP or from external programs. You could, for example, signal the arrival of external data to be read into the SAP system by using an external program to trigger a background processing event. The event scheduler processes an event if the event is defined in the system.
For example, if a system (System 1) receives an event from another system (System 2), the event scheduler of System 1 processes the event only if it is defined in System 1. That event does not need to be defined in System 2 (the sending system).
You define an event by assigning a name (EVENTID) to it. When defining an event, you do not define the event arguments.
for more information you can go thru the following thread:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/fa/096e2a543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm
When you schedule the process chain or infopackages the jobs associated with it run in the background mode. In case you want to create a job for a specific activity you can do so in SM36. You would be creating jobs that would get executed in any one of the options:
    1. Immediate
    2. Date & Time
    3. After event.
    4. After job.
    5. At Operation mode.
In case you want to view the job logs go to sm37.
Also Pls check DB02 for database performance and ST03 for workload .
Analyse u will have an idea ,

  • How to find process chain using background job in sm37

How to find process chain using background job in sm37

Better is to select the job.
Select (Define) Step (s) or F6.
Select the line and Menu Goto>Variant.
The variant contains the name of the CHAIN and its VARIANT.
    Success
We faced an old job and via job monitoring we were informed about a cancelled job every 'interval'.
We noticed that the related chain was deleted but still the job was scheduled each interval again and was cancelled because an event was missing
We could not find the scheduled job via SM37.
Via view V_OP, view over tbtco abd tbtcp, we find the related entry.
We delete these entries via function BP_JOB_DELETE....

  • How to create a JOb

    Hi Experts,
Previously i waw using bdc and was creating session.
Now in place of BDC i am using BAPI .
Now i cannot create  a session  so i am creating a job.
Problem is that when i use bapi the record is created at same time.
So before execting Job  using transaction SM37
    the records gets created.
Can any  body please explain me how to solve this issue.
    Thanks & regards,
    Chetan

    Hi chetan,
To create a new batch job you can go to transaction Sm36,wherein you can define the job name, job class and target server..then you can go to start condition and select whether it is a periodic job,or immediate job and accordingly you can schedule the job..Also the very important thing is in the Step funtion you should have valid ABAP program or any external program which should be used at the background...
If you know the program then you can go to SE38 and create a variant for that program which can be later used in the newly created job.You can also copy an existing job and modify it according to the requirement by checking the job details in SM37.
Just to summarise the Key transactions are : SM36 and SE38.
JOB_OPEN: Create a Background Processing Job
Use JOB_OPEN to create a background job. The function module returns the unique ID number which, together with the job name, is required for identifying the job.
Once you have "opened" a job, you can add job steps to it with JOB_SUBMIT and submit the job for processing with JOB_CLOSE.
For more information, please see the online documentation in the function module facility (transaction SE37)
Sample Program: Creating a Job with JOB_OPEN
Create your job with JOB_OPEN. The module returns a unique job
number. Together with the jobname, this number identifies the
job. Other parameters are available, but are not required.
JOBNAME = 'Freely selectable name for the job(s) you create'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'JOB_OPEN'
    EXPORTING
    JOBNAME = JOBNAME
    IMPORTING
    JOBCOUNT = JOBNUMBER
    EXCEPTIONS
    CANT_CREATE_JOB = 01
    INVALID_JOB_DATA = 02
    JOBNAME_MISSING = 03
    OTHERS = 99.
    IF SY-SUBRC > 0.
    <Error processing>
    ENDIF.
    thanks

  • Can't find my job in SM37

    Hi All,
    Iam facing an unique problem:
I've started reconstructing a request in an infocube.
The 1st data packet was running and I was also able to see the job in active status in SM37.
And the remaining data packets were in red status and were no messages in them, while for 1st data packet I could see the message 'start of processing update rules'
When Iam not in the shift, our team saw that 1st packet turned green and other packets are red, they thought reconstruction failed and for 2nd packet they selected manual update without my knowledge.
Now, when I checked my job in SM37, I could find no jobs in my id.
But I could see that 1st packet is green and the 2nd packet also turned green as Iam typing this message. Now without my involvement I can see for 3rd data packet the processing has started from which I assumed that my job is still running ( or did I assumed wrong).
Now, where can I check if my job is running. As I can see in the monitor that 3rd data packet has started, I want to confirm that it is surely running.
    Ah, Iam working on Production.
Please tell me how can I go about it.
    Thanks & regards
    AP

    Hi,
goto SM37 without any date and active job (all users).
Your job could be running under ALE/ALEREMOTE or your communication user, or any other user.
The packets are turning red after the timeout setting of your IPack and depending on the setting "treatment of warning"; this doesn't mean that your job stopped...
In your particular situation if the job is running should you see it as BI_NEW* (as far as I remember...).
If you have identified your job, double click it and press F7 to obtain detailed info and see in which server / process it is running and it ia doing....
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

  • How to stop print job in SAP?

Can some help in explaining how to stop print job in SAP .???
    i

    HI Swati,
Thanks for the additional info. as per previously mentioned use SM37 - however be sure to check the box ''Sched' when performing the search for the job in question (and untick the others so the resulting list will be clearer to read etc.)
You can then choose to delete the job and reschedule it to different periods via SM36
    Best of luck,
