How to identify active layer in Visual Composer 7.0

Hi Experts,
I am using a model with several layers and a link tree navigation control.
Is there a way to find out on which of the layers the user currently is?
For example: If the user opens Tab 3 can I then get the information tab = 3?
I need this for guard conditions and for a button to open a hyperlink where the url depends on the layer.

Hi Markus
Instead of using the Navigation Control "Link Tree" I would set Navigation Control to "None" and model your own navigation with a form view containing buttons to navigate between layers. You can then use a Data Store with a field called "Tab" and default value Tab1. When you trigger the event to navigate to other tabs update the Data Store field Tab with the target tab value. You can then base guard conditions etc. on the Tab value in the Data Store.

I want to work with BI report and BEx analyzer etc using Visual Composer.
I am using Visual Composer 7.1. I have configured BI system connection using the following link

Creating BI Users in the Portal
Ensure that the BI back-end users also exist in the J2EE Engine. You can use the BI back end as the user store for the J2EE Engine or you can create the users manually. If you create the users manually, you should ensure that they have the same names as in the BI back-end; this avoids the need to configure user assignment.
How to check BI back end user also exist in J2EE engine ?
How to use BI kit in Visual composer. From where can i download BI kit for Visual Composer.
What is the difference between developing application in VC using the above method and using BI kit.

Hi,
Without the BI kit you cannot do a lot of things in VC 7.1.
This kit is not available with 7.1.
The part that you did not understand meant that if you opening VC using a certain id in portal for eg "user" then the same id should be present in your backend system in this case BW system.
Without this it wont be able to connect to the system.

1. Unfortunately one of my requirements is that I can only get data from queries and not from Web Services or other sources, so no WS calling would be allowed in my deployed I-View, but thanks anyway for your suggestion.
2. You are right, I was not clear enough in my first post. Let's say I have 3 rows and 12 columns, what I want is the following:
ROW3 = ROW1 / ROW2
obviously for each column. Do you have an idea about how it could be done??

i add a Reporting Activity to my current BPM Process. My purpose is to show the report in Visual composer.
Unfortunately i don't know how to import the BPM Reporting Activity into VC?
Could anybody help me with a how-to-guide or a detailed description?

Hi Sid ,
In Visual Composer, choose Model Open... .
A list with all available models appears.
Browse the model structure and in the context menu of a model, choose Open Model.
The selected model opens for editing in the Design board.
Choose View->Task Panel -> Search to search for BPM DataSources.
The Search dialog appears.
From the Select provider dropdown menu, select BI Data Sources.
From the System destination dropdown menu, select BI (Sql) Portal.
In the Search for Table field, enter the name of the generic process or process context DataSource you want to find. You can use an asterisk (*) in the search string as a wildcard to search for a partial match. Choose the Search pushbutton.

How to use Google Maps by Visual Composer?

Hi all,
I'm creating some simple applications by Visual Composer in which I wanna use a Google Maps in VC,
and i have now successfully got to the STREET, POSTL_CODE, CITY and COUNTRY came from the BAPI.
(i am trying to use the Bapi_Customer_Getdetail2.)
but,i didn't get how to connect Table View and Html View.
I have already checked the below links. but i fail to understand how to do it.

How to connect two iviews in Visual Composer 2004s?

Hi,
I am trying a sample application (Bank Details) in Visual Composer(Netweaver 2004s) but getting a warning as "Event EVT1 is declared but cannot be raised". Actually I want to show the GetList values in the first iview & GetDetil values in the second iview. I have done everything for the two iviews, but not able to connect the two iviews.I tried to drag from Signal Out of the first iview to Signal In of the second iview, but not able to connect them.
Hope someone can suggest a solution.

Portal Activity report through Visual Composer

Hi all,
We are implementing the activity report model in Visual Composer as described in the Wiki:

We are able to find the required webservices and drag them onto the storyboard. But when we try to test the webservice Getcontentstat with correct input we receive an error:
Portal request failed. (Could not execute webservice, consult your administrator).
We guessed this was some sort of authentication error, so we defined a differerent user for the webservice in Visual Administrator and then we receive a different kind of error:
Portal request failed (Fault returned from server: )
Any suggestions are very welcome.

I facing the same problem when i try execute this webservice from soapUi client.
What did you did for to solve this problem?
The message is:
The User Authentification is not correct to access to the Portal Service com.sap.portal.prt.soap.ActivityReportWS or the service was not found.
When i execute from VC, returns no messages.

Hi All,
i have activated the standard datasource in r/3 ? and i have replicated the same in the bw system and in the source system of r/3 i have replicated it and i can find the data source there ? but how to identify whether the datasource is active in the bw system or not ?
i cant see a tick mark on the data source does it determine it is active?
Pls guide me on this?

When i right click on the data source i can see this option:
1. assign infosource

How export data in Excel From Visual Composer

Hay everybody,
I would like to export my data result from Visual Composer to Excel. I've tried with an export data buton, but the exported file has a very bad format in Excel. I've tried an hyperlink buton which contain the Reptname data of the query too, but I can't keep my filters. This second solution can be nice for the format. If anyone knows how I can keep my filters, I would be fine.

How to working with BI in Visual Composer 7.1

I want to work with BeX Query using Visual Composer 7.1
I created BI system in EP System configuration.

In order to search for BI destinations in VC you must have the BI Kit for VC installed on your machine.

Steps involed for calling RFC/BAPI from VC
1. Choose Model->Select Data Services.
(Alternatively, click the Data button in the task panel toolbar.)
2. In the Portal field at the right end of the main toolbar, enter the URL of the portal from
which you can access the back-end system used by the iView.
For example, you could enter: http://<yourportal>:50000/..
3. Click the traffic light icon to the right of the Portal field. The portal Welcome screen
appears.
4. Log on to the portal as a user that exists in the connected back-end system, or which is
mapped to a user of that system. Click OK.
Once a connection to the portal is established, a list of system aliases defined in the
portal system landscape appears in the System drop-down
list.
From the System drop-down list, choose the SAP system that contains the function module.
6. Under Search SAP System, click the Search tab and in the Name field, enter the search string: <RFC/BAPI name>. Then click Search (at the bottom).
5. A list of function modules matching the search string is displayed.
7. Drag the function module/bapi from the Data task panel into the
workspace: The data service is added to your model.
8. Periodically save your work. To do so, choose File->Save Model.
Finally test the iview in VC.
In the workspace, drag your mouse from the Input port of the data service, <inputform> and dragn your mouse from the outut port from the data service <tabelview and etc..>

How to get active layer comp

Is there a way of getting the active layer comp?
I have a script that applies a series of layer comps saving different versions of the file in between, however it seems that on a very fast machine it the script tries to move onto saving before the layer comp is fully applied, so I would like to check which layer comp is applied and only let the script continue when the value changes from the last layer comp.

Here is an example that get the current tool.

It has been my experence that when null is used in the reference you can not access that class with Action Manager.

How import data in Excel into Visual Composer

Is there a realistic way to import data into visual composer? I could not find a data service that was Remote enabled to do this?
Does anyone have any ideas
