  • Digital Rights Management (DRM)

I want to add DRM to video that I am editing on FCP. Is this possible at the editing stage or do I do that after compressing the video into the correct format? Do I need other software? I can find quite a bit on the internet in relation to DRM and PCs but not much in connection wwith Macs.

DRM has nothing, and I repeat NOTHING, to do with the editing process. Purchasing Premeire will not allow you to "edit" using DRM. This notion is rediculous.
DRM is either applied to a file during or after the final encoding process. The problem is this process is extremely difficult for the average user. Apple uses their FairPlay DRM in conjunction with iTunes, iPod, and Apple's servers. When you purchase music, the DRM locks the file to your account. By authenticating your account on a computer, using iTunes, through Apple's servers, you are able to play that music. This technology is not simple, and is not available to the general public (and I know of nothing similar that is).
Macrovision for VHS and DVD as well as CSS for DVD (as was mentioned above) requires a per copy license, and you must have your DVD mastered with the copy protection scheme by a company that performs this service and then replicated. Today, this is a complete waste of time, since there are many, many programs that can remove both CSS and Macrovision.
You need to remember that there is absolutely no known way of protecting your content 100%. Every known DRM has been broken. You can make it more difficult for users to copy your work, but you can't stop them.
In my opinion, if you are delivering your content over the internet, the best method of "copy protection" (even though it really isnt) is to stream your video. Sure, VLC or other programs can make files from streamed videos, but the majority of people don't know that, and wouldnt know how to do it even if they did. Or if you have a progressive download for your files, only QT Pro users will be able to actually download the file if it is embeded into a web page. The standard version of QT doesnt allow this, so effectively you've reduced the possibilty of copying significantly.
If your delivery is on DVD video, again, there is nothing you can do.
If your delivery is on CD or DVD ROM, you might want to consider using Director to build an interface within which the user would play the video files. By doing so, you can use an internal cast, or an invisible cast and make it very difficult to copy, again not impossible if the user knew what to do.
Just remember, when you build a better mouse trap, a better mouse will inevitibly come along...
    Anyway, I hope this helps.

    Hello,
Yes, you can use XmlDocument, XmlNodeList, XmlElement, XmlNode etc to read infopath file via code. Just add "using System.Xml" as reference in your solution.
Refer below link with sample code:

  • MSI Megaview 566 & Digital Rights Management files

I was wondering if someone could help me. I downloaded a music file (wma format, 256 kbps) and copied it to my Megaview 566, but it won't play. The supplier says that the media player that the song is copied to must be Digital Rights Management (DRM) compatible. Is the 566 DRM compatible, and what can I do to get downloaded songs to play?
    Thanks in advance.

MS-5566 didn’t support WMA with DRM audio files, but I have a solution for you reference, when you download music, you can burn to CD and use “Windows Media Player 10” to transfer WMA V9 format, because 5566 can support WMA V9 audio format!!
Transferring WMA format procedure by “Windows Media Player 10”
    1. Open Windows Media Player 10.
    2. Go to tools\Option\ Rip Music\ Rip Settings and selected.
    3. Insert CD audio and start ripping.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Pls help on error on ereader "this document is protected by DRM ( adobe digital rights management ) and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe id

how do i solve this in order for the e reader to open the file?“this document is protected by DRM ( adobe digital rights management ) and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe id
    thnaks

This is something you will need to talk to the publisher of the document. They might have to do something to allow you to open the file. (If you changed Adobe ID since buying the file, for instance, they might have to allow for that).

  • I cannot open a book borrowed from the library on my kobo. It says, "this document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management licence which has expired. Please renew." How do I do this?

How do you renew Adobe Digital Rights Management licence?

You need "sysinternal's process explorer", it is free and can replace the Microsoft process explorer, that you get by "CTRL+ALT+DELETE". Either program will allow you to kill the instances of FF that didn't die as they should have, when you closed them. Sysinternal is easier to use, it is a graphic display with many options. Do not push "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" twice unless you want to reboot, that is its default behaviour under Microsoft.

  • How do I open book on iPad that has adobe digital rights management?..

How do I open a book on my iPad that is locked because it says that I need to open it by  using Adobe digital rights management.   I've downloaded the Adobe reader and it still won't work, help!

The Adobe Reader does not support opening these books. I believe that the "BlueFire Reader" does support this though.

  • Use of a debugger while executing Windows Digital Rights Management (WMDRM) code is not permitted

    Hi:
I have a Panasonic video camera that records in 1920x1080 60P format and writes an .m2ts type file.  I've written a filter that scales this to half size and allows me to draw on the video etc.  I would like to save that video.
When I attempt to develop my program using Visual Studio 2010 I get the message  "Use of a debugger while executing Windows Digital Rights Management (WMDRM) code is not permitted".  Also the program blows up with a memory access error.
Since this is my camera how is DRM  involved??   Is there a way to make such private videos not be involved in DRM?  Finally,  and how is one supposed to develop and debug this type of application if the debugger is not allowed
    to be used.
Interestingly, if I run my application in non-debug mode it executes correctly.  However as I would like to make additions to the program etc.  not being able to use the debugger is extremely difficult.  Can someone
    shed light on this??

Um, I don't know that there's any. I mean, there could be, but as far as I know, the rights management has to do with the file and the reader, not the download server. If you want to prevent downloads by unregistered users, there's plenty of info out there on securing your web site. But once the file is downloaded, it can be given to anyone, and your web server has nothing to do with that. That's where the DRM stuff comes into play.

    Hi. Thanks.
I loan out CD's and records to friend but to my knowledge they just use it to listen to, they then do the same for me.
So if I get this correctly, downloading music from iTunes is like downloading Apps in that it does not matter which device I load it onto? Or is there a hiccup here in terms of having a laptop, desktop and iPhone? For instance my iPhone is synced up to my laptop (it used to be synced to the desktop) and I had/have to be very careful about making sure I transferred my Apps over to the laptop - using the iPhone I think - when I started syncing the device with the laptop. There was some risk of losing all the Apps if I did this correctly, no?
Is it the same with music downloads? should I only download from my iPhone/laptop combo or an iPhone/desktop combo? I mean, I actually find it /more/ convenient to do things on the desktop machine but this makes it hard to sync with the laptop if I am traveling so I now only download APPS to the laptop machine.
Does this question make sense? Do I need to use one computer or another for this?
Also, in terms of my other burned CD Roms (that are now digital), I assume these are non DRM and I can move them laptop to desktop to iPhone and back with no issues whatsoever?
I mean is there a difference in this respect between iTunes downloaded songs and ripped songs from my collection?
    Thanks.
