How to implement webdynpro application into portal.

HI all
I have developed a Web Dynpro application (for eg: SAP online registration test for tech ED 2007). how to implement it into portal..
I mean i want it as a role to displayed in my portal.
what tempalte i have to use while creating iview..
where i hav to uplaod this folder (my webDynpro appication) (like a document at bact end or ???)
please give me step by step solution for this..

Hi,
Assuming you have deployed your webdynpro, you simply need to create webdynpro iView in portal.
Check this simple help documentation on how to create the iView

Once you have created the iView, create a role. Set the entry point of the role to yes.

Right click on the iView and assign the iView to the role.

HI Experts,
I have one WebDynpro Application which has the functionality of search Using KM Index Management API's.
This performs the search in portal using TREX.
My requirement is to use this functionality in sharepoint portal(Microsoft Product).
From this sharepoint portal they want to use this search application to search in portal.
Now my choice is to convert this WebDynpro application into webservice so that , share point server guys can call webservice to use that search application.

I think there is no possibility as for your query. You will be allowed to create a webservice which is a piece of code that can be applicable to required application. Gothrough the following link to know clear details about webservice.

How to immigrate Webdynpro application into EP ?

Hi all.
Is there any example to describe how to immigrate one webdynpro application into Enterprise Portal ?
I need to develop some application in Enterprise Portal. I think I have 2 ways to achieve it.
1. develop the application in webDynpro, then migrate it into EP.
2. develop it directly in EP.
I prefer 1st way, because in this way my maintenance job will becomes easy.

Inluding java webdynpro apps into portal transport packages

Hi All,
Platform: EP7 SPS13, solaris, oracle DB
I would like to know how to include java webdynpro apps into portal transport packages.
I was reading documentation but I was not able to accomplish this.
I have modified Pcd.TransportApplication.Export.ExcludeSystemObjects = false
in pcdStartup.properties file.
Transport export includes all my java webdynpro iviews, and export property RESOLVE REFERENCES is set to true in order to setup dependences to be included.
After importing in QA portal, I can see my java webdynpro iviews, but no webdynpro application exists and iviews won't work.
Any idea will be appreciated.

You ca nmove web dynpro applications to different landscapes in two ways
1) In NWDS u need to set Message server Port and server port of Quality or production depending on ur requirement
In NWDS ..In Menu you can find
Windows->perferenece there u need to do settings
and u need to deploy ur webynpro application
2) you can deploy .ear file in Visual Admingoto Visual Admin there u can find deployment button click it and deploy ur .ear file

The value ctx.lookup("<jdbc_pool>"); depends on your system id.
if your system id is SID the the string has to be jdbc/SAPSIDDB
you can check it via visual admin >> server >> services >> jdbc con.

How to implement command pattern into BC4J framework?

How to implement command pattern into BC4J framework, Is BC4J just only suport AIDU(insert,update,delete,query) function? Could it support execute function like salary caculation in HR system or posting in GL(general ledger) system? May I create a java object named salaryCalc which use view objects to get the salary by employee and then write it to database?

BC4J makes it easy to support the command pattern, right out of the box.
You can write a custom method on your application module class, then visit the application module wizard and see the "Client Methods" tab to select which custom methods should be exposed for invocation as task-specific commands by clients.

Internationalization of standalone WebDynpro application(No Portal)

I have a webdynpro application running on SAP WAS 7.0(NO portal).
Based on the request parameter, the application should show translated content. I am aware of the translation process using .xlf files. But how can a webdynpro application receive language parameter in request and show translated content?

In WD4J via URL it is the parameter "sap-locale".

PS: But be sure you did not set another language for the user in the user store (e.g. UME, LDAP, etc) because this has higher prio.

Issues while running a WebDynpro Application through portal.

Hi,
I am trying to execute a webdynpro application through portal and facing some issues. I hope to get a significant help from the experts:
> Initially, a report is called from the portal which in turns calls the WebDynpro Application.
> After this, I am again trigerring "FIRE" event in order to go back to report.
At this step, portal shows a message "The Page Can Not be Displayed". Browser link field contains the event name which I am passing to the Fire Event.
Can anybody let me know the root cause for this issue? Below is the piece of code that I am using for navigating from Webdynpro to Report.
        l_sapgui_manager->fire(
          EXPORTING
            name = 'INDI'
        parameters = lt_parameters ).
lt_parameters contains some field values which are required in the report.

Hi Shanthakumar,
The "GoogleSearch.WSDL" is no longer available as google has replaced it with the new AJAX based searching and they have eventually removed it from public use as well from 7th September 2009. So, I would imagine you would not be able to use the earlier WSDL file for google search. You might have to look in using the new "AJAX Search API". For more information have a look the following links. You can notice "No Longer Available" at the top of the page.

I am Webdynpro Java webdynpro developer.
I want to create an IVIEW for an ABAP Webdynpro application in the enterprise portal.

The process is almost exactly the same as creating a Web Dynpro Java iView. You simply chose the ABAP instead of the Java radio button when you reach that step in the Web Dynpro iView creation process. There is a video on the topic here:
