How to import 30p 1920x1080 footage into cs4

Hi,
I shot some footage using my canon hf20 in 30p, at 1920x1080. when i open a new sequence i don't see a setting for 1920x1080 30p under AVCHD.
at first i was going to use the XDCAM HD preset since it's the only one i see that has 30p, but i realized that it's 1440x1080, not 1920x1080.
how else to import 30p 1920x1080 into premiere CS4?
1) will the 1080i30 (60i) setting preserve the 30p progressive footage (even though the option is listed in premiere pro under 1080 interlaced)?
2) or is the only way to edit 30p progressive at 1920x1080 is to select the AVCHD 1080p 24p setting and change the frame rate to 29.97?
3) or is there some other trick altogether?
thanks.

thanks for the replies. so does the 1080i30 (60i) setting do some kind of de-interlacing on 30p footage, even if it's not native and it's wrapped in 60i (like it is in the canon hf20)? or does the camera do that automatically?

  • Can no longer import mp4 (XDCAM) footage into CS4

Hopefully somebody will be able to help me with this!
I am trying to import some Sony EX1 (mp4) footage into Premiere CS4, but am getting the following error message:
“file import failure: Error message – the importer reported a generic error”
I have done this process on many occasions over the last year or so and experienced no problems whatsover.
But for some reason I am no longer able to import the mp4 files...or even access these file types in historic projects!
I have checked the footage in the Sony clip browser in it seems fine, and plays fine when opened with a VLC player, so am a bit stumped to what the problem could be.
(For info, I am using a PC with 8gb RAM and a Quadro CX. I did have After Effects installed a month ago back and switched to VISTA. All Adobe updates have been installed, and I have sufficient memory)
Thanks in advance for any pointers or assistance

Of course using Premiere CS3 I have the problem of the audio constantly cutting out on the XDCAM MP4 files, so I really could do with a solution to this problem in CS4 asap - can anyone else help?
It is definitely a new problem for me, which almost certainly revolves around the impoter process. It did not affect my editing until 2-3 months ago but suddenly now renders CS4 Premiere more or less useless, on both on my laptop and my main PC.
It is possible that the problem only affects projects where one of the XDCAM files is very long and/or was originally saved across two separate cards at the time of recording. In which case it may not be a new problem, simply one I had not encountered before because I'd notg used any such long files.

  • Import CS3 AVI Footage into CS4

I'm trying to import some footage that I captured on my PC in CS3, into my Mac in CS4. When I open the project that was created in CS3 (PC), on my CS3 (Mac) it comes through fine. But when I convert the project and open it in CS4 (Mac), it wants to render all of the footage in the timeline. Which means the sequence settings aren't matching the footage. Even though the sequence settings are the same as those I used in CS3. Not sure what's going on.
Reason I capture the footage on my PC to begin with is because CS3 and CS4 still will not capture my DVX-100 24p footage correctly on a Mac. So this is my only solution at the time being. I have 34 hours of AVI footage that I'd really like to edit in CS4. Any help would be much appreciated!

Bill, thanks for your response. Sorry for the delay in getting back. The mis-match is precisely what I'm trying to figure out and fix. My sequence presets are as follows:
    GENERAL
    Editing Mode: Quicktime DV 24p
    Timebase: 23.976 frames/second
    VIDEO
    Frame Size: 720 x 480 (16:9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9
    Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)
    Display Format: 24fps Timecode
    AUDIO
    Sample Rate: 4800 Hz
    Display Format: Audio Samples
    VIDEO PREVIEWS
Preview File Format: Quicktime DV 24p
    Codec: DV/NTSC 24p
Max bit depth and Max render quality are NOT checked.
And the clip properties are as follows:
    Type: AVI Movie
    File Size: 642.8 MB
    Image Size: 720 x 480
    Pixel Depth: 24
    Frame Rate: 29.97 (24p)
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Total Duration: 00:02:57:16
Average Data Rate: 3.6 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.2121
    QuickTime Details:
    Movie contains 1 video track(s), 1 audio track(s) and 0 timecode track(s).
    Video:
There are 5330 frames with a duration of 1/29.97th.
    Video track 1:
    Duration is 0:02:57:16
Average frame rate is 29.98 fps
Video track 1 contains 1 type(s) of video data:
    Video data block #1:
    Frame Size = 720 x 480
    Compressor = DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
    Quality = Normal (3.00)
    Temporal = Normal (3.00)
Not sure why the properties show that the clip is 29.97fps, becuase when I single click a clip it shows up as 23.976 up above. Any advice would be MUCH appreciated!

  • Importing RED camera footage into CS4

I've downloaded a plug in for CS4 and all the other RED camera footage imported in fine (9 out of 10 files) expect for the last file. Here's a picture of the file names:
When I try to import these files (either through file > import) or Media Browser I get the message that the file format is not supported. Does anybody have any idea of what I could do?
    Thanks!

    Robodog2,
I finally got back to my office and was able to send JIm a screenshot of the issue as the file was too big to send (1GB).
The file marked A010_C001_10172V_001.R3D is the one that should import into Premiere Cs4 but as you can tell from the screen shot above, it will not.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • How to import a PDF form into FormsCentral

    Hi,
Please help me in How to  import a PDF form into FormsCentral.
    Thanks,
    Techvedic

    Hi Techvedic,
Import of form in Formscentral depends on how it was created. If you used LiveCycle designer to create the original form then it cannot be imported. However, if the form is created in Acrobat then you can import it by clicking on Import PDF form under Create New form heading.
Note: In the imported form you may edit the position of the submit button, but other design edits to the imported form will need to be made in the tool used to create that form.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other question.

What do you mean by "adjust"? Editing of Photoshop images should be done in Photoshop.
Sure, it's possible to save individual layers from an image in Photoshop as inidvidual files in a variety of formats, but what's the point? You could just as easily import the layered file, then copy/paste it into a new layer for each layer in the image and use layer visibility to control which ones show. I don't think that will do you a lot of good, though, if you use adjustment layers or opacity controls on the layer in Photoshop.

    try this:

    field-symbols: <fs_tabname> type standard table.
data: itab_ref type ref to data.
create data itab_ref type standard table of (p_tabnm)

    assign itab_ref->* to <fs_tabname>.
    select * from (p_tabnm) into table <fs_tabname>.

  • Importing HD (AVCHD) Footage into Premiere Pro CS3 (windows)

Hi guy's the question is pretty much in the title.
Is it possible to import HD (AVCHD) footage into Premiere (with or without aditional software)?
    Thanks.

What I can't figure out is why such a major format does not have native support in in Premiere CS3.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVCHD
This is a format that has been adopted by Sony and Panasonic and is compatible with most blue-ray players and even the Play Station 3. So why would so many of the small software companies, in competition with Adobe, have recognized the importance of the format and come up with solutions to read and edit the format when Adobe has not?
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403297&sliceId=2
I've been coming back to Adobe's web site for months hoping to find they are working on a solution and I have found nothing. I have been a huge fan of Adobe software for years and have pumped many a pay check in keeping my Adobe software current, the most recent being the purchase of the CS3 Master Suite. I'm not trying to bash the company but Adobe if your listening I really want to know want to know what the real story is. This goes beyond the "we are just busy and will get to it when can" statements I have been seeing on the adobe sites. It looks to me as though some other deal has been made and Adobe does not want to talk about why they are not incorporating the AVCHD format into Premiere CS3.

  • How to import existing jsp project into jdeveloper

can someone help me how to import existing jsp project into jdeveloper?
can give me step by step to import..cause i am new for jdeveloper..
    thank you very much

Well there are two options - if you have a WAR file with the code in it, then you can use the file->import WAR.
Or you can use the new->Project from source code.
Note that you'll probably need to do some library settings and some directory setting after that.
Have a look at this demo for basic steps:

  • How to import an Engage interaction into Captivate 6?

Can someone please advise how to import an Engage interaction into Captivate 6?

    Welcome to the forum,
Articulate Engage interactions are still AS2, if it hasn't changed recently since I checked last time. This means that you cannot insert them as an animation. However, you should search on the Articulate forum (always pointed at so much better than this one ) because there is an explanation how you can insert them as webobjects.
If this still is indeed AS2, too bad, but Articulate should urgently upgrade to AS3,
