How to import a Migration key in a Portal System.

Hi,
We have a Portal System (Only Java Stack) and we have changed the existing Installation number of the System to a new one in Marketplace. We have received a new License key and Migration Key from SAP. I have imported the License Key in the System using Visual Administrator tool - Licensing Adapter.
Now, i dont know what to do with Migration Key. In the Note 816861, it is only written about ABAP stack systems.
Please help.

You don't need the migration key.. It's only for ABAP.

I have tried the above mentioned solutions but it only adds a link to the html page and the full page.The tutorial says add a perspective and add a file item to it(ur html page) and then publish that perpective as portlet.So i did it that way but first i couldn't get the genereated code for the portlet and then felt even if i would have get the page there would have been just a link to html page and not the page it self??please suggest a solution for this as I have around 60 html pages with vey complex designs so line by line code cut/paste gonna be avery time consuming/complex option.

How can we see restricted key figures in Portal

Hello,
We are using 0ANALYSIS_PATTERM template, when we use the "new analysis" and from the drop down at the top (view, query, infoprovider) when we choose the infoprovider as a cube for example (0PU_C02) we can see pretty much like a web version of query designer i guess, we can see all the objects. But is there any way the end user can see the restrcited key figures that are created in the query designer by BW developer, so that they can drag and drop their objects and create a report.
It would be great to have this function.

Currently, this is not available. You could have a query that has all RKF as a starting point to achieve this. If you think this would be good to have by default, please log a development request on the OSS Messaging System.

Help on how to import static HTML web site in Portal v2

Hi I am new to Portal and I would like to know if there is a way to upload an entire static HTML Web site (pages and images) into Portal (v2) or do I have to re-create each pages one by one.

Static HTML pages cannot be mapped to Portal pages. The Portal page concept revolves around
providing a customizable container for content, rather than a HTML page which contains text
and images.
I am assuming that your website has the following structure
/htdocs
/sitennn
/pages
/subsite1
/subsite2...etc
/images
/scripts
You need to upload the zip file as an item and then unzip the zip file. When you unzip the file,
Portal will create the folders and populate them. So, if you have a root HTML file called
index.html, then you can access it as http://<server.domain>/pls/<dad>/docs/folder/<sitennnn>/pages/index.html
Assuming you have specified relative links, all images/content should show up correctly.
Once again, I would like to suggest that unless we are talking a 100+ pages and megabytes of
content, consider recreating/redesigning your website using Portal Pages, instead of upload and unzip. You will have to spend some resources (time, people) and redesign, but it will
pay off in the long run.

I read and try to upload a zip file in Portal but the only thing I found is how to upload a single web page in a page group. Can you direct me on how to upload the entire web site?

Yes - pre-create the tablespaces on the destination and start the import.

my client wants me to install chinese and french language for thier demo purpose in SRM5.0.
i have downloaded the language packs required for that., but they are not in car/sar format. where in SMLT its asking in car/sar format

I do not understand in what at you a problem.
you create in se38 --> RSCPINST french language?
then you go to smlt and create the french language -->
then press the import package and in Path write the way to folder like
servername\d$\language\LANG1
then press "Find Packages".
in Available languages see the french language (If correctly will specify a full way)
Then choose or "Start on instance" or simply press Execute
Wait transport.
in rz10 create the zsca/installed_languages (in my case ER --> Eng+ Russian)
Restart the server.

Hi,
Please navigate to usr/sap/trans/CMS/log to view logs.
Alternatively in the CMS, you can click on "Go to History" which will display all previous transports. You can see the details from there.

Wrong migration key - installation number 00000000

Im trying to migrate SAP ERP EHP7 from MaxDB to DB2 database and while import ABAP phase I received error, that migration key is wrong. I was generating key via OSS, but it is always wrong. In log file I see something weird:

Have you tried the above note and checked other parts to troubleshoot.
Also, can you check this note that you generated the key correctly.

Migration key error

I have a R/3 4.71 system, on AIX 5.1, oracle 9.2.0.3. I bought a new IBM SERVER pP 550. I need to migrate R/3 to this new server. I used system copy to export all data. but when I import it , Migration key always error, why ? I got key from service marketplay . help!

we didn't pay service pay for many years, so SAP can't help us. it always display " the migration key for heterogene systemcopy is wrong ! try again!

We are going to migrate SAP production server to other same sun solaris system due to hardware failure in existing system. We export all data from old system and import to new system. But when we trying to import, it asking about migration key, When we enter migration key which was get from SAP market place then system is not accepting the migration key. Following are system information :-

Database = Oracle

New SYSTEM:-

It is late because I was trying all of your concern. See following what happening:
1. When I am trying to leave migration key it is ok and I was go forward for futher steps, but system trying to load export data then it is asking again migration key and message appeared "Invalid Migration Key, Trying again.".
2. I tried that delete all data from oracle directory and but oracle directory is there. and tried reinstall again but again above message is appeared.
3. I thing that I was not tried and please suggest that SAP asking about the type of installation during installtion:
         a. standard installation
         b. system migrate with new database.
         c. system migrate with old database (I am not sure about text).
   I had never tried the standard installation. If I will can I try to export only database from backup and import into new SAP generated database? I dont know standard installation will ask migration key.

How to import the components onto the portal

Dear All,
I've got installed ECC6 in my home PC with some of the netweaver components like XI, BI and etc. But after login into the Portal, I'm not finding any of the components on the portal, except the welcome screen. And ABAP is working well from the SAP logon pad.
So can anyone explain that, how to import the netweaver components onto the portal. Pl. give me the step-by-step explanation as i'm very new to this aspect.

Migration Key - How to Open a CSS Message

Hi Team,
We got the discovery system and asked SAP to get us a separate licence for mySAP ERP 2005. We got the CD-DVD's and SAP says that we can generate the licence key from the service marketplace. Now in the installation guide, it is mentioned that we should get the migration key by using CSS and opening a message in CSS Component: CA-SOA-DS. When I go the tab "Report Product Error" in CSS, the table control which displays the systems is still blank. I cannot go to the next step and open a message to request migration key. We really don't want to install the CD-DVD's on a separate server. We just want to get the discovery system up and running and it looks like without the migration key we can't proceed further.
Questions:
1) How do I start a CSS message without the system number getting displayed in the service marketplace. I have the installation number etc with me.
2) Do we have to install and run something else prior to asking for migration key?
Please respond as this is causing problems. Your help will be much appreciated.

I'll try to shine some light on the topic you brought up.
The Discovery System is shipped already pre-installed on the hardware. Thus there are no CD-DVD's that would allow installation on a seperate system. It follows the concept of an appliance.
To license it you need to have a valid license for SAP ERP on MS SQL. This is the installation number you will need to request the license key from Service Marketplace. If you don't have that in place (no license or on different DB) please contact your SAP counterpart.
Following the steps in the Quick Guide (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b22d4e44-0e01-0010-ffa4-fe9c59939e5e) in sequence should guide you through all the necessary activities.
