How to Import an Editable Sequence?

In Premiere 6.5 to add an existing project to the timeline I just went to File-Import-Project-(select the .ppj project)-choose Beg/Edit Line/or End-OK and the project's timeline would appear on my timeline. I cannot figure out how to do this in Premiere Pro. I can import an entire project, but if I drag the sequence onto the timeline, it appears as a solid item. No clips, no transitions. I hate Premiere Pro.

I can not remember much detail about 6.5 but if you are more comfortable with it , than thats what you should use.
>Undo used to tell you what is was undoing. If you are undoing one action it's no problem but for several actions it is a problem.
Checkout the History Window and you can Undo what ever action from there. Its very easy to see all the actions.
> can fully open my audio waveforms and they are no way as clear as those in 6.5.How can you even argue the point?
No point to be made. The waveforms are as clear as required in my system. Maybe its your graphic card. (Post a screen shot.)
>When rendering in 6.5 the CTI shows you exactly where you are in the timeline. It was clear and convenient. If I have a 15 minute clip that requires a one hour render in Pro there is no movement until it is completed.
The red render bar shows the progress of the render. Cant actually see the point of why the CTI or the Render bar would make any difference to you. Rendering is Rendering and it takes its course no matter what.
A/B Editing is your choice. If you feel it the best way for you no reason not to stick with 6.5

How to import and edit a 3D video made with Sony HDR-TD10E camcorder, with .MVC file?
    I have PremierePro-CS5 installed.
This stereo 3D camcorder (Sony HDR-TD10E), output an .MVC (MultiViewCoding) file, coded in H.264 format.
This format is already compatible with Bluray3D stereoscopic format.
    1) But, how to edit the .MVC in Premiere?
    2) What plugin should I use (if exists) for PremiereProCS5?
    3) Cineform Neo3D, can manage the .MVC format? Can convert it to Cineform format file, for import it into Premiere?
    4) What software should I use to convert an .MVC video to an AVCHD H.264 file, and import it into PremierePro CS5 or CS5.5 for editing?
    Thanks!

Sorry, I am Italian, it is very difficult for me to understand what he says!
I can just read the english text, or follow the actions of a videotutorial!
Thus my question is the same:
    -What software can do that?
-Sony Vegas 10 do the Bluray3D authoring?
-For MVC editing, should I wait for Adobe CS6? Or is it planned an update for CS5.5?

I've just started using Lightroom 3 and I'm thrilled with what it allows me to do. However, I have many thousands of images that were edited in Nikon Capture NX-2. Now I want to import them into Photoshop Lightroom 3 and use Lightroom as my workflow base. But when I import them none of my past edits are evident. How can I import them without throwing away those uncountable hours already spent getting the images the way I want them using Capture NX-2?

Yes...nearly all of those advantages.  TIFFs are "baked", NEFs are "raw".  You can manipulate NEFs with changes like white balance and the method of demosaicing.  You can't do that with TIFFs (or JPEGs) nearly as effectively.
Every raw converter (including the one in the camera) has its own settings and algorithms and those aren't directly transferable to another raw converter using different settings and algorithms.

  • How to Import and Edit a 60i video to Final Cut ProX

    Hi Final Cut ProX community,
I just recently purchased a Sony HDR - JP650V Camcorder which shoots 24p, 60i and 60p. I've been shooting long video's and the only frames per second I can use is 60i for this specific camcorder.

I've been trying to shoot in 60i and then import it to Final Cut Pro X and edit it for YouTube but everytime I import it the inspector tells me it's a 1440x1080 | 29.97 fps. I know I have the camera set to [Long Time ]: 1440 1080/60i quality, AVC HD 5M (LP).
How can I get Final Cut ProX to recognize the 60i fps when importing the video vs the 29.97 fps?
Reading some forms and being new to the video world could this be because of the i stands for "interlacing" which is 30 fps x 2, so FCPX only registers 30 (29.97fps).
    Could that be the issue?

    Brandon,
I also use Sony's HDR-PJ50V camcorder to record seminars at remote locations. These seminars are four days long, with some presentations lasting up to 1.5 hours or more.
Each evening, I back-up the days proceedings to an external hard drive.
I record in the 60i mode as it only takes up half the cameras hard drive space. The photos and videos that I use for my outros are recorded in 60p and appended to the end.
I export video to QT7, process it in Compressor, and send to YouTube. See the excellent link below.
I also drag the QT7 file to Toast for DVD burning.

Also see this YouTube link, especially the the 60p ending.

  • How to Import Multiple Image Sequences into - Premiere 'Pro'

    Hi ;-)
    1) I added a bug report about this 4 years ago  -- Is this STILL not possible ;-))))
I have 200 Sequences sitting each in its own folder. As of now - then year of the Lord 2014, I have to physically select each folder and add them one by one...
    This is almost funny...
Perhaps I am missing the extreme obvious --- Either that or Premiere Pro is.
    Any Help is greatly appreciate

Jim, when selecting the blackmagic2 level, the only available option is File Directory:
This doesn't happen with RED files, where you can choose between File Directory and RED from the first level. Unlike blackmagic's DNG clips, RED files can be imported all at once, so maybe that's the whole problem:
And yes, Source Settings are available for RED files, whereas they are not for DNG (only basic information, not raw manipulation):

  • How to import MXF files to Final Cut Pro with smooth editing

Summary: Follow this tutorial to learn how to import and edit MXF files in Final Cut Pro by converting MTS to FCP native format.
If you have a Panasonic P2, Canon XF or Sony XDCAM series camcorder,
you may be familiar with Material eXchange Format (MXF). Though MXF is a
great video format to record high-definition videos, it is not easy to
use in that they are not natively supported by most NLE systems like
Final Cut Pro. In order to import MXF to FCP for editing, the easy workaround is to transcode MXF files to FCP compatible video formats.
Along with some help from a top MXF Converter, it can be done. To
help those who wanna edit MXF files in FCP without problems, here I
share with you a simple guide on how to convert MXF files to edit in
Final Cut Pro 6/7 or FCP X.
First of all, downloading the App- Brorsoft MXF Converter for Mac
Overall, the program is a professional yet easy-to-use MXF Converter
on Mac (Mavericks included) which can not only convert XF100, Canon
C300, XF105 and XF305, Panasonic P2 recorded MXF files, but also provide
simple video editing functions for you. The MXF to FCP Converter not
only can convert MXF to ProRes for FCP, but also can transcode MXF
videos for editing in Avid MC, Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, FCE, etc.
Just download it and follow the tutorial below to get the work done.
Transcoding (P2) MXF files to ProRes for Final Cut Pro 6/7/X
    1. Import MXF files to the converter
Launch the best MXF to FCP Converter, and then click the “add files” button to browse and import MXF videos from your camcorder or hard drive.
    2. Select FCP editable format
Click the Format bar, and move mouse cursor to choose “Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)” as output format.
    Tips:
    a. Settings- click to set video
    resolution(1920×1080/1440×1080/1280×720/720×480), bitrate (from 1Mbps to
    20Mbps), frame rate (24p/30p)
    b. Editor (next to “Add” icon)- click to set deinterlace, trim, crop, add effect, attach subtitles, etc
    3. Start transcoding MXF video to FCP
Click “Convert” button to start converting MXF files to Apple ProRes
MOV for FCP 6/7/X under Mac OS. Once the MXF to ProRes 422 conversion
is done, you can transfer MXF footage into Final Cut Pro (X) for editing
    smoothly on Mac with ease.

  • How to import a PSD file into Indesign WITH layers so it can be edited/saved as an InDesign file?

How to import a Photoshop file into Indesign CS6 so that it's layers show in InDesign and it can then be edited/saved as an InDesign file?

    MyTienN wrote:
Someone had mentioned the possibility of saving each individual layer in Photoshop as a png file and importing into Indesign and adjusting it in there
What do you mean by "adjust"? Editing of Photoshop images should be done in Photoshop.
Sure, it's possible to save individual layers from an image in Photoshop as inidvidual files in a variety of formats, but what's the point? You could just as easily import the layered file, then copy/paste it into a new layer for each layer in the image and use layer visibility to control which ones show. I don't think that will do you a lot of good, though, if you use adjustment layers or opacity controls on the layer in Photoshop.

We are using CUIC 8.0 Standard Edition. Cisco says in the CUIC 8.0 Data Sheet that it is possible to import a report with CUIC 8.0 Standard Edition. However when I am working with the CUIC 8.0 Reporting App I find nothing in it's Web interface regarding importing reports.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
There are numerous converters online to convert the .VRO files into .VOB or MP4 or other which should be supported by Premiere Elements.
Maybe explore the free MPEG Streamclip for the conversion

  • How to import DPX sequence?

I am trying to import a short sequence of DPX files directly into the timeline. How do I multiple select a sequence? I can single click and drag but can't tell Color that what I am importing is a whole sequence. Is this even possible?

You can browse and import DPX sequences directly into Color. But if the sequences are numbered and not named, Color doesn't see them as sequences but as individual files
So files numbered 90000.dpx to 91334.dpx won't work.
Opening.90000.dpx to Opening.91334.dpx will show up as a 'clip' that you can import and drag into the timeline.

  • How best import a sequence from PP2.0

What is the best method to import one sequence from a project with many sequences in PP2.0? Do you need to import the sequence and all of it's assets (music, sound effects, clips) that are in the project panel, or just the sequence itself? I'm not sure how to do this. I want one of a dozen sequences to import into Encore, but not the other sequences. Should I export the sequence as a move/ISO?
    Thanks!

Encore can't import a Premiere sequence. It will only import assets - DVD compliant MPEG files, or DV AVI files.
My preferred method is to export out of Premiere as DV AVI, and let Encore do the transcoding. I like it's Automatic setting.
