How to Import Apple Mail 4.2 to Eudora 6.2.4
I have Eudora set up on my MacPro (OS X 10.6.2), and downloaded new mail to one of my e-mail accounts. That went rather smoothly.
Now, I need to import mail from Apple Mail. I keep getting an error, which won't allow me to import mail from Apple Mail. The message gives me the option to manually import my mail.
I've tried that several times, and it seems to import the mail, but I can't find the imported mail.
Is this a bug with Eudora that won't allow importing mail from Apple Mail?
Trying to move back to a prior version of Mac OS X can be a problem, it could be easier fixing your issues with Mountain Lion. What problems are you having?

How to import Apple Mail archive files in Outlook 2013?
I need to import Apple Mail archived files in Outlook 2013 on Windows, but every time I open the import wizard and reach the file selection step, I cannot select the archived file. It doesn't even show in the dialog box.
I don't know what the issue is. Is it the file size issue as the archive file is large (about 7 GB) or there is any other fault? If both system are using the IMAP mail provider all you have to do is setup the connection to the mail server and all the emails and folders will be copied down to the windows computer. That is what IMAP is for. The mail stays on the server, and can be store
on the local computer also, and when you connect to the server with another device, computer, phone or pad, all the mail with folders gets copied to the other device.
But I think some of your mail was gotten using POP so it is not longer on the server.
Or you have emails in local folder only and they would be on the server. But you can create folder on the server in one mail program, or on the mail web interface and then copy those emails into those folder on the server byt copying them in one of the email
programs. Then when you log on with the other device all of them will be downloaded to the other device.

How to Import Apple Mail Folders on Second User Account
I purchased a new MBP after the old one failed. At the Apple Store I set up a User ID for the new MBP. I then used the Migration utility later on to bring in all my data from my late MBP. This included all my Mail folders. Now I want to get a selection of those Mail Folders to the New User ID. I have tried exporting a folder to a USB flash drive, told Apple Mail to import it in the new ID but without success. Is there another way to get the selected mail folders over to the new ID? Currently I have way too much mail on the old migrated ID. I have been running DupeZap to try and reduce the duplicate messages but that's another story. I just want to get the good folders (no duplicates) over to the new User ID. I seem to recall that back with Tiger you could use a drop box or public folder to pull files/data from one user ID to another. Is this still possible or is there another option I can try?

Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion to connect with Exchange 2007?
Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion 10.7.2 to connect with Exchange 2007? It worked perfectly with Snow Leopard... upgraded to lion and it won't work. We use Exchange 2007 with SP 3 and Rollup 4. Won't connect... and I can't get Apple to give me any direction.
We finally got it to work today. We had to call and pay for the microsoft support service, but the issue was on the server end. We had to go into the iis manager... went to sites... when to default website...and changed the SSL settings for Auto Discover, EWS Exadmin, echange, exchweb, owa... and the rest..
Change the settings to ignore client certificates.
Problem solved. Can finally send and receive. -
Can you tell me how to forward apple mail? I need a more powerful junk/spam screener that Yahoo.com provides....
<E-mail Edited by Host>Not sure I understand correctly:
Apple Mail is a desktop email client; Yahoo is an online email service.
Is your problem that Apple Mail does not filter junk mail well enough? And you want to open your Apple Mail in Yahoo Mail?
Or are you currently getting your Yahoo mail forwarded to Apple Mail and opening it on Apple Mail? -
how to configar apple mail & what is the defult path of mails storge?
Hello suhas.tawade,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
Configuring Mail for your email account
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1277
Mail can automatically get the email account settings for many email service providers
Open Mail.
Choose Add Account from the File menu. If this is the first time you've opened Mail, you will be automatically prompted to add an account.
Enter your Full Name, email address, and password. See Mac 101: Mail article for more information.
Best of luck,

How to repair Apple Mail's frozen 'send' button?
how to repair Apple Mail's frozen 'send' button?
More details on the particular "adjustments", please?
AFAIK, there's no documented to insinuate a change into an outbound SMTP message (if that's what you're up to here) within Apple Mail.
Most commonly, these sorts of header adjustments arise at an intermediate mail server. Usually spam filters have something similar.
If these particular "adjustments" are possible within Mail, then it's likely via the undocumented plugins API underneath Apple Mail. And, well, that API is not documented. And the plugins API has changed at various Apple Mail updates, too; it's clearly not a stable API. -
When exporting and then importing Apple Mail from one mac to another I get "Some messages could not be imported. Partially imported mailbox will be labeled IMPORT" . That mailbox does not appear.
Any help would be welcomeThis is a bug in Mail. The mailbox archiving function does not include attachments, which gives the error with the import. To workaround this you can create a mailbox in Mail and copy to it all emails you want to export. Then go in Finder to [user]/Library/Mail/Mailboxes en select the created mailbox. Copy this to the public directory of your other mac. Then start Mail on that other mac and import the mailbox from the public directory. Should work now.

How to stop Apple Mail from filing important e-mails as junk?
My Apple e-mail feature has been filing very important e-mails as junk mail without my knowledge. How do I specify exactly what is junk mail, and how do I tell my macbook to not file mail as junk unless I instruct it to do so?
This might help you out!

I've got a frustrating problem and need your help.
My Mac pro (os 10.7.5) froze so I was forced to push the button to restart.
After reboot, apple mail 5.3 auto opened and pulled in thousands of old mail that were long ago deleted.
Now, is there a way to mass delete the new/old mail that reappeared without losing what mail I wanted to save?
More importantly, how can I avoid this the next time my mac freezes because it's not the first time it's happened and it's does not happen on every crash.
Please advise
ThanksThe mail that keeps coming back is what is still sitting on your mail server. If this is a POP mail account you can configure Mail to delete mail that has been downloaded.
Click Mail in the menu bar and select Preferences. In Preferences, click Accounts and select your mail account on the left, then click Advanced. There you can decide on the setting you want: "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message", to for example After one day.
If you have an IMAP account - say gmail - the process is different. Post back if that is what you have. -
How to stop Apple Mail reverting to new msgs at bottom?
Have been having this problem ever since installing Mavericks. AppleCare keeps telling me they will tell me how to stop this and have my new messages at the top again, but still haven't told me. Every day I have to re-set this because it reverts back. Makes no difference WHERE I re-sent this.
Having many other AppleMail problems: For one thing, am not receiving some important emails which do show up in Web Mail.I have done that countless times. I have also done it countless times at the small place at the top of the emails where it says "Sort By Date." Neither works at all. However, yesterday I did the major rebuild of Apple Mail and this morning for the first time when I went there it said "Newest Msg at the Top" so hopefully that was it.

How to Migrate Apple Mail to Opera Mail?
I'm trying to migrate all my mail from Apple Mail to Opera Mail. Opera allows for this but you have to give it the file/directory. I used their initial suggestions to get ~/library/preferences/com.apple.mail and that got the most recent inbox things, but didn't move things in my folders or any of the sent mail.
Has anyone done this? If so, can you please share how you accomplished it?
Thanks,
korkActually I did find a way to do this. While tedious and laborious it works like a champ.
Step 1. In Apple Mail, for every folder you want to save in Opera, you highlight that folder, then right click and choose "Archive Mailbox" then save it to your desktop or whatever. Rename that desktop folder to whatever you want to import as. Repeat this for each mail folder you want to migrate.
Step 2. Go to Opera and select File->Import and Export->Import Mail. From the next dialog, choose Import generic mbox file and click Next.
Then click the "Add Folder" button and select a folder from the exported mail you selected in step 1. Repeat the add folder and selection for the folders you are importing. For "import into" you can either choose a "new account" (in which case it will attach the messages to an already existing account you have) or you can choose "new account" which will attach them to "localhost". If you do import most than once, be sure to select the right account each time. If you select new account every time it will just create another account and you won't be able to change it.
That's it. As I said, it's laborious, but its the only way I could find to do this without using some third party program.
Cheers,

How to import old mail messages
Hi all
I have a new iMac. I have setup all my email accounts already. However I have about 2000 old email messages saved on two external hard drives ( through backups)
How can I import and seamlessly integrate the old mail messages into the new iMac ?
ThanksThe normal method depends upon how you backed up your old mail. If you backed up the entire Mail folder and its content then use Mail's Import Mail option under the File menu. Select the Apple Mail option then click on the OK button. Navigate in the File Open dialog to the /Mail/Mailboxes/ folder. Select and click on the Open button. Check the mailboxes you wish to import then click on the Import button. Your mailboxes will appear in Mail's sidebar under the Imported Mail heading.

After crash/reboot, how do get apple mail to stop pulling in old/deleted mail?
This has happend so many times, it's getting frustrating.
Finder or another program freezes, I force quit and the mac freezes.
I restart, open apple mail and it startes pulling in every piece of mails sitting on the mail server.
It's happened too many times and I end up having to delete thousands of emails.
Any idea why and how I can stop this from happening?
Thanks

How to important "sent mail" from another account into Mail?
I wasn't sure where to put this question because of the way this forum is organized.
Anyway, here is my problem:
I woke up thinking I may have forgotten to send an important e-mail yesterday. I thought, "No problem, I won't have to drive all the way to work. I'll just set up Mail on my iMac to use the e-mail account I use at work." It's an SBCGlobal account, so I found most of the information I needed about the mail servers and POP and IMAP and all that stuff that could be termed in a lot more user-friendly language so I don't have a conniption fit trying to figure out what it is I'm doing.
I finally managed to get it set up to where all of the messages from the inboxes were imported into my Mail app. One big problem: I need to look at the *sent* mail, and if I didn't send the e-mail I thought I needed to, I need to access attachments that I sent to others.
So how do I important the sent folder from my work e-mail account into Mail?I wouldn't doubt it. I work at a small church so we don't have much funding, but we're switching to Gmail. I found an older, unedited print copy of what I was supposed to send and made alterations to that and e-mailed it to the people who needed it. The other thing I was supposed to e-mail isn't essential, I suppose, as it's Sunday's bulletin and everyone will be picking one up tomorrow when they come to church anyway. It's just that I'm fairly new at the position, I love everyone at the church and with whom I work, and I want to do everything right 100% of the time to please them because I'm very Type A. I've been really getting a hang of my job, but it seems there's always one thing that I screw up. I guess I'll get better with experience. And hopefully switching to Gmail, if I do this again, I can just access everything from home.
