How to import CD as single track in iTunes 11.01?

The abilty to import CDs as a single track in iTunes was great for Dj mix CDs and the like. But there no longer seems to be the option in iTunes 11.01? Or am I overlooking something? Any advice would be appreciated.

No, you don't need to purchase iTunes Match to put CDs on your iPhone. You always have the option of syncing with iTunes using the cable that came with your iPhone.
See this page for more information on importing CDs:

There is a video tutorial and a number of links to related articles.
Best of luck.

  • How can I export a single track in Soundbooth CS5?

    Greetings,
I have built up a single track in Soundbooth composed of several repeated clips. I wish to export this single track.
How can I do this in CS5 Soundbooth?
    Thanks,
    folsombob

Sorry nobody has answered this. I haven't been in this forum in a couple of weeks.
If you have all the tracks right where you want them, are you able to save the file as an mp3?
Are you looking to export it for web use?
    For video tracking?
I'm not sure why you'd want to export it as opposed to saving in one of the many available formats.

  • How to fade in/out single track volume?

I'm new to GarageBand, but shouldn't there be a slider or control for individual tracks?  The Help menu doesn't seem to give me info, nor does the Track menu.
I just want to be able to fade tracks in and out - it's called mixing, right?  The fade line at the bottom (in purple) controls all the tracks...but isn't there a fade in/out control for single tracks besides setting the level for that track section?
For instance, in the photo, below, the "Acoustic Guiter Rock Picking", highlighted,  is where I'd like to fade it in at the beginning and fade out at the end, while having the other tracks stay the same.  Advice appreciated, thanks.
I saw in another post that there's a track slider in GB '11, but as I have '08, there seems to be no triangle to click.  Any workarounds?  Can't imagine why this basic feature wasn't in earlier version, if so.

Looks like the answer was right under my nose.  I thought it only applied to later versions of GB, but the track option is in v. 4 (mine) too.
    Here's the simple solution:

  • How to import a MP3 file song from iTunes into Logic 9?

How do i import an MP3 music file from iTUNES into a recording project in LOGIC PRO 9?
What type of recording trac needs to be used or enabled? Audio Trac or Software Instrument trac?
I cannot find this task listed in the Apple Pro Training book for Logic 9.
    Thank you.

Have you tried simply dragging and dropping the actual audio file using Finder... into the arrange window? Make sure you drop it into either a blank space in the arrange area or onto an Audio track. When you drop the Audio file into a blank area, Logic will automtically create an Audio track for it...
This is how I normally do it without issue...

  • How to import 2 separate audio tracks and keep them separate?

I need advice about importing two separate simultaneous audio tracks and keeping them separate. I am importing footage from my Sony PDX-10 DV Cam.
In the field I had wireless microphones on two people, a man and woman. I interviewed them separately. The man was on channel 1 and the woman was on channel 2.
While shooting the man, for example, I could also hear the open mic of the woman who was maybe a block away talking to some friends. But her distracting sound was on CH 2 and in playback on the camera, if I dial down the volume of CH 2, I no longer hear the woman and I have a clean audio track, Ch 1, of the man who is being filmed.
I'm trying to import the interviews into iMovies with only the relevant track turned up and the distracting track turned down. When I listen to the audio from the camera on my headsets, I can get clean sound of just the person who is on camera. But the FIREWIRE seems to grab both tracks, even though in playback i'm listening only to the clean track.
Does anyone know how I can send just one audio track to IMovie? Any way to prevent the Firewire from importing both Ch 1 and Ch 2 at the same time?
I only want the sound that's relevant to the person who is on camera. And I know that in the camera, it's possible to listen to just the track from one channel. I'm hearing just one track through the headsets, because I can sucessfully dial down the other track. That's the way I want to import the footage to iMovie. But the FIrewire seems to grab all the sound it can find and carry over both CH 1 and CH 2, which means I'm left with a jumble of sound that is not useful.
And finally, if the firewire needs to grab both tracks, is there a way to assign them to two separate tracks in iMovie, so I can then simply turn one of the tracks off?

    nope.
iM handles the two stereo-channels as "one track", and offers 3 tracks of stereo.. (the one inside the video, 2 additional tracks...)
    I would... :
    * export clip(s) share/Quicktime/Expert Settings/aiff..
    * in a designated audio processor (Garageband, Audacity, ...) seperate the two channels, creating two "new" ones, stereo, where one channel is located in the stereo middle..
    * import these two "stereo" files into iM, into Track2 and Track 3 ...
    .. boom!done

  • How do you import minidisc / audio cassette tracks for iTunes use?

Have old family audio cassettes (originals) and minidiscs (recorded from cassettes) and really want to convert them to mp3
Would be more than grateful for your advice! Cheers, Matt

Your powerbook has a line-in connection, so you can connect it with a line-out of an audio device.
You could also use an USB device like the iMic.
Such a device generally gives better audio quality than using the direct line-in.
Next, you need an application to record the digitized audio.
You can start with the freeware audio editor Audacity, which is a good editor and has lots of filtering possibilities.
Other audio editors like Amadeus II or Sound Studio 3 offer more functions.
Specialized applications, like CD Spin Doctor make it very easy to record, burn and transfer the audio to iTunes.

  • How to import songs from external drive to itunes in Leopard?

my computer had issues after installing leopard and i had to erase everything on my computer. since all of my music files from itunes are on my external hard drive, they are safe! but now that i'm starting from scratch on my iBook, how do i tell the computer to import all my music files to my itunes?
i mean, i know how to click one song at a time and import them one at a time but that would take a long time. is there any easier way?
    thanks much

Its very easy. I hope that you have all your music in one folder. Just drag that folder which contains every music you have to the iTunes icon in the dock. iTunes will open and copy every file on its own.

  • How can I get 2 different track from iTunes playing on 2 different stereos?

We are remodeling a part of our home and decided that this would be the time to install a whole house audio system. We would like to use our iTunes library as a source and be able to play different tracks in different parts of the house (also called zones)
To put it in a slightly different fashion. I could have a dedicated Mac Mini with my iTunes library and it would feed tracks with meta data to 3 stereos in various parts of the house. Each stereo independently select tracks or playlists.
iTunes purchased tracks need to work as well.
    Thank you all....

What you need is to use one Mac (or PC) as a server (and storing all the music) and then one of the following in each room connected to that rooms HiFi system.
Sonos ZonePlayer see http://www.sonos.com this is the most expensive option but is regarded as the premier multi-room solution.
Roku SoundBridge see http://www.rokulabs.com (I have three M2000 SoundBridges myself)
    Slim Devices Squeezebox see http://www.slimdevices.com
Apple TV see http://www.apple.com/appletv (unlike all the above this will require the use of a TV)
With these, different rooms can play different tracks at the same time with them all stored on the single computer.

  • How do I add a single song from iTunes on a different computer

I have the limit of 5 computers with a single iTunes account.  And I have 5 iPhones and 3 iPads.  All of them use their own library on a desktop iMac back at home in Germany.  However, I travel very often to see family in the U.S.  Today I purchased an audiobook from Audible and dropped it in my iTunes on my MacBook Air that I have with me in California.  I want to ADD just that book to my iPhone 5 so that I can listen to it (the problem could be a single song, but in this case it just happens to be  book).  I don't want to re-sync, I just want to add on book to my other media on my iPhone 5.  All of my devices are marked "Add manually" on the mother iTunes on the iMac at home. But when I try this with any of the other 4 computers I am prompted to erase everything just to add one book.  This is not a piracy issue or a copyright issue.  I clearly own the book and iTunes knows it.  I can download or play new media on any of the five computers.  That's not the problem.  I need to be able to transfer to a portable device.  There should be a way to do this.  I can't think of any legal reason why Apple would prevent this.

Allan ... okay now I guess I am making an issue of it.  I don't mean to be obnoxious, but since you seem to know what you're talking about, let me pick you're brain a little further.
I soon as I try to add the single song or book, I get the message that this device is synced to another computer.  Now isn't it true that iTunes knows exactly what computer it's synced to and that the device is on the same iTunes account that this computer and the other computer are on?  Sorry about the run-on sentence. This iPhone sitting here with me is ONLY associated with my iTunes account no matter what computer it's connected to.  If that computer is also associated with that "Apple ID" account, doesn't that mean that Apple knows that this device must necessarily me "owned" by me?

  • How to import video loaded on macbook into itunes ?

film imported from private dvd, now I want to import to iTunes as described in iTunes-help. But nothing happens. Who knows why ?? I also tried the same on imac (10.6.8) ......

Yes, you should convert to mp4 video files and then can transfer to iTunes. Just get handbrake or search a tool from Mac App Store like ifunia to do you a favor.

  • How to import all my music back in iTunes?

I formatted my computer and install a new OS. I have iTunes reinstalled but under the Library/Music, all my songs are not listed despite I went into the Edit/Preferences.../Advanced tab and redirect the media folder to my music folder. Any suggestion? All my ringtones are not showing up either.

It's not working. I'm using a PC with Windows 7. I was reading the article you pointed out above but it's not working either. I'm not sure if the article above even applied to my case since the location of all my ringtones and music never changed location. I just redirect iTunes to use the existing location but still iTunes is unable to read all my previous files. Any other suggestions?

  • How to import music from my computer into iTunes 12

I tried "Add To ->" then My iPhone, but it didn't add it. Help?

There are various programs that can convert wma files.  I have a couple, but they are specifically windows programs, so I run them with parallels.  Switch is a basic one, but it doesn't preserve the tags.  The newest one I got was dbpoweramp....this program preserved all the tags and saves a LOT of work.

  • How to speed up a mp3 track

    Howdy,
Is it possible (and how) to speed up just single track in Garageband?
I have a clip of mp3 as a track, but it is a bit too slow for the rest of the song, which are all midi tracks at the moment. I would like to change the tempo (squeeze) the mp3 clip, but  it seems that Garageband does not have the tools to do this. All advice welcome.
    Cheers,

if you upgrade to the latest version of GB, you might be able to use the FlexTime tool

ITunes will not import nor play Windows Media Audio files. If they're not copy-protected, though, you may be able to convert them with EasyWMA (freeware) or Sound Converter ($10.00 US).
