How to import Firefox bookmarks to ipad

How can I import my Firefox bookmarks into my iPad?

I believe that you have to import your FireFox bookmarks into Safari before you can sync them to the iPad.

  • How to import FFox bookmarks into iPad via iTuneon a machine w/o Safari?

I am running Win 7 with the latest iTunes, and Firefox.
I want to import my FF bookmarks into Safari running on my iPad2. However, I don't have (or really have a need for) Safari on my Windows Machine.
Is there a way to import my bookmarks into iTunes w/o having Safari installed on my (Win) machine?
Don't really need yet another browser. (I also have Chrome installed, which has all my bookmarks, in case it's easier to do it that way.)
    Thanks!

Thanks all, will try xmarks and report back.
While we are on the topic of safari on the iPad...where is the setting to set the default zoom level for web pages?
Every time a page loads, I have to pinch and zoom out so it's readable. Even if I do it once, when I navigate way and come back, it defaults to the tiny font. Can't find anything in Setttings, Safari. Safari itself has no setting at all that I can find.
Also for the bookmarks, could I just install Google toolbar and Google bookmarks? That seems like it would do the job.
As you see I'm brand new to iPad.

  • I am trying to import Firefox bookmarks from a Windows machine into Firefox on an Apple. I do not want to use Safari. How do I do this?

am trying to import Firefox bookmarks from a Windows machine into Firefox on an Apple. I do not want to use Safari. How do I do this?
I have, on my HP laptop, running XP Pro, using Firefox 4.0, went under bookmarks to show all bookmarks. A window opens up that says library. I then go to import and back up, and I choose export HTML. I then move this file over to my new Mac Pro. On my Mac Pro I also have Firefox 4.0. I go up under bookmarks, show all bookmarks, import HTML. It lets me browse and I find the file on the desktop, I select it then nothing happens. I am not interested in using Safari. I would like to continue using Firefox. However, as an experiment, I followed the same process except on my Apple computer I opened up Safari and tried to import in the Firefox bookmarks. It came up with an error saying the file could not be accessed. I then thought perhaps the file got corrupted, so I went back to my Windows Firefox and re-exported the bookmarks again. Same problem. So, am I creating the bookmarks incorrectly on my Windows machine?
    Thanks,
    Kent

Probably your Mac cannot understand the Windows html format, please try the following to see if it helps:
In your PC, export the bookmarks in html as you did in your post. After you have saved it, change the name of the file to “bookmarks.html” and save it again.
In your Mac, import the saved file as you posted.

  • How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in User folder on same (new) PC, into Firefox?

How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in User folder on same (new) PC, into Firefox? I have exported the Firefox bookmarks from my old PC into a [Windows 8] folder on my new PC.
When I use the Firefox import facility, it will only import one bookmark at a time - and then it bookmarks all the main pages on the bookmarked website, not just the one which I originally bookmarked. It also does not import the information stored in the bookmark tag.

    Sure thing.
    # Open the run dialog by holding the Windows key and pressing R
    # Type <code>%appdata%</code> into the run window and press ok
    # Open the ''Mozilla'' folder
    # Open the ''Firefox'' folder
    # Open the ''Profiles'' folder
    # Copy the folder that is located in this folder to a USB drive
    # Install and run Firefox on the new computer
    # Close Firefox
    # Repeat steps 1 to 5 on the new computer
    # Open the folder that you copied from the old computer
    # Copy the contents of that folder into the folder located inside of the new computer's profile folder
    # Allow Windows to replace any duplicate folders with the ones that you are copying onto the computer is prompted

  • How !o I Import Firefox Bookmarks?

I recently switched back from Firefox. Safari is so much faster with tabbed browsing.
Anyhow, how do I import my bookmarks used in Firefox????
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi
To import your Firefox Bookmarks, simply go to the Safari File Menu>Import Bookmarks. Navigate as follows: Home Folder>Library>Applications Support>Firefox>Profiles>default.tra>bookmarks.html. Select that file.
In Safari, open the Bookmark Manager (command/option/B keys). On the left under the collections column you'll see a Firefox collection appearing at the bottom of the Collections list in your Bookmarks Manager. You can copy (command/C keys) various bookmarks, folders etc., then highlight the Bookmarks Bar collection and paste (command/V keys) the contents into the right side of the Manager.

  • How to Copy Firefox Bookmarks to Safari?

Will it work if I rename my Firefox bookmarks.html located in Firefox profiles to bookmarks.plist and replace them in my Safari library? If not how do I copy my Firefox bookmarks to Safari other than the first time I open Safari.

    Hi TB
renaming the file won't work - but if you enable the Debug menu... either by using a 3rd party app like Safari Enhancer; or as I did by pasting defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1 into a Terminal window after quitting Safari first, then you can choose 'import bookmarks' and point Safari to the html file from Firefox.
I actually have Tiger, so haven't seen this on Panther, but there have been plenty of threads where I've offered this suggestion, and it's worked out fine.

  • How to import all bookmarks

    How to import bookmarks

Your question ended up under Thunderbird, the email program...
Is this about importing bookmarks into Firefox? If so, is it for Firefox on a desktop operating system (please mention which OS) or on Android or on a FirefoxOS device?

  • There is no "Organize Bookmarks" on my Bookmark tab and I don't know how to import html bookmarks from old computer, which is now dead, per the instructions.

I saved my old bookmarks as part of my regular backup from my old computer. It died this week and I just bought a new computer. The instructions for importing an html file with bookmarks says to open the Organized Bookmarks tab under Bookmarks. My computer does not have this bookmark and I can't find anywhere else how to import the html file with my old bookmarks. The old computer used Windows XP and this one has Windows 7.

"Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu. The rest of the instructions will be the same.

  • How to import firefox active addons in epic brower?

Every time I upgrade to new epic. I lose all my setting stored in previous version. I need a solution whereby my addon in epic remains on every iupgrade like in firefox upgrade. Secondly How to import active firefox addon in epic.

Epic, is not an official build of Firefox, and thus will have bugs, issues and problems that the official build of Firefox doesn't. I'd honestly recommend you uninstall Epic and install Firefox. Its just going to be better.

  • How to import /export bookmarks in Firefox for Mac

I wanted to export my bookmarks in Firefox for Mac, in htm or pdf format. Cant find any command for that. Nor any import from htm or pdf. Nor can I list all my bookmarks aplhabetically ; I have lots of bookmarks in different folders and I want to see all these bookmarks listed with no folders.

In Firefox for OS X, you can export your Bookmarks to HTML via the Bookmarks dialouge window.
Open your Bookmarks dialouge via the Menu bar: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks.
When the new window has opened, this is what you can do to export your Bookmarks: https://support.mozilla.org/media/uploads/images/2012-09-16-05-44-02-10bc19.png (or view the image attachment).

  • Have saved Bookmarks from my desktop Win XP on a USB stick in a folder named "Bookmarks" How to "import" these Bookmarks in my new new notebook wih Win7 Home Premium with Firefox?

First of all thank you for solving my installation of Firefox on my new notebook. I have successfully installed Firefox on that new PC.
Now I have another problem. I have successfully copied my Book marks from my desktop onto a USB stick in a folder named "Bookmarks" I am trying to 'import" the same Book marks in my Firefox on my new notebook. I cannot. I have tried various ways via "organise bookmarks" or "import" but I do not seem to be able to do it. Any suggestions?

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Backing_up_and_restoring_bookmarks_-_Firefox
Did you save (export) the bookmarks to an HTML file or did you create a JSON backup?<br />
A JSON backup needs to be restored and will replace all currently present bookmarks.<br />
An HTML backup is imported and those bookmarks are merged with the existing bookmarks.

  • How do i import Firefox bookmarks into Firefox history?

I have years worth of favorite web pages stored in several bookmark folders, but i no longer want them there anymore, and i want to place them directly into my history.
Is there a way to do this without opening up every single webpage? Opening all tabs will undoubtedly freeze my Firefox indefinitely, there must be another way around this?

Hi CuriousMew, I don't know of any method to do that, but you could just let it open all in tabs over night and when you come back all will be listed in the history. Virtual memory will make sure that you don't run out of memory, unless you have tens of thousands of bookmarks.
However: you should consider that the history is only kept for a limited time, and any page not bookmarked or visited during that time will be lost.

  • Cannot import Firefox Bookmarks

I want to import my Firefox v3.6 bookmarks into OSX 10.6 Safari. I cannot find an export function in Firefox, and I have not been able to import in Safari by using the import function. I have read a number of posts on other forums outlining how to do it, but they do not work for me (no export button in Firefox). Can anyone direct me in how to do this?

    Import it manually then.
    Mac
Profile folders are in one of these locations:
    ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>
    ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>
The tilde character (~) refers to the current user's Home folder, so ~/Library is the /Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library folder.
