How to import large Mp4 QT movie into i-movie?

When I copy selections from the Mp4 movie using quick time pro 7, they wont "paste" into i movie or even final Cut express.There must be an easy way. Im just starting to use QT pro, so Im not overly familiar with it.

If you only wish to import a small selection from your larger file just paste your "cut" into a new QT Player window (Command-N). Save and name this new file and drag it into your other editor.

  • How can I load an external SWF into a movie clip that's inside other movie clip?

    Hi.
    I creating my first flash (actionscript 3.0) website but I'm
    stuck with a visual effect I want to create.
    I have a window on my website called contentWindow. Every
    time you click a button this window is supposed to leave the stage,
    load the requested content and return to the stage.
    The sliding window is a movie clip with 83 frames, 21 to
    enter the stage, 21 to leave the stage again, 20 for nothing (its
    just to simulate the loading time) and 21 to return to the stage.
    Now my goal is, when the user clicks on a navigation button,
    the window exits the stage, loads an external SWF with the content,
    and then returns to the stage.
    I've the "window" movie clip with an instance name of
    "contentWindow". Inside there is another movie clip with an
    instance name of "contentLoader". The content that the user
    requested should appear inside the "contentLoader".
    Now, when the contentWindow leaves the stage, I get this
    error message:
    quote:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of
    a null object reference.
    at rwd_fla::MainTimeline/trigger()
    If I switch
    "contentWindow.contentLoader.addChild(navLoader);" for
    "contentWindow.addChild(navLoader);" it works fine, but the
    external SWF doesn't move with the window.
    How can I load an external SWF into a movie clip that's
    inside other movie clip?

    Hi,
    Recently, I have been putting together a flash presentation.
    And I am just wondering if the following might help you, in your
    communication with the said swf file:
    loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
    onComplete);
    function onComplete(event:Event):void
    event.target.content.thinggy_mc.y -= 100;
    Not the best example, but this allows you to target a mc
    within an external swf file. I think if you look up this code, you
    will have an answer ;)
    Kind Regards,

  • Is it possible to update my SD Movies into HD movies?

    I bought serveral movies in SD with itunes. Is it possible to update my SD Movies into HD movies?

    If you purchased them in SD, you have to re-purchase the HD version.
    However, if you've already purchased the HD format in the past, then you can change the resolution to download them (go to Preferences > Playback Preferences > Preferred Video Version, and then select SD, 720p or 1080p)

    You can only import what's on your import file format type
    list.
    Which is no mp4 for flash 8.
    For video editing, google... there are countless solutions,
    from super

  • Import video from i photo into i movie

    I have downloaded short video clips from my digital camera into iphoto. I have not been able to figure out how to get these clips into imovie. I've wasted hours trying to find an answer in the tutorials. Maybe a real person can enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

    The weird thing is that the day before yesterday I downloaded some other movie clips from my digital camera into iphoto and somehow I got them into imovie but I can' remember how -- I think I copied from iphoto and pasted in imovie.
    Maybe yes or maybe not.
    You could have copied them from iPhoto to one of the iMovie Event folders using the Finder "Drag 'n Drop" import method. Unfortunately the files will be ignored by iMovie '08 when the application is opened and will not be thumbnailed/cached. For all intentents they will be invisible as far as iMovie '08 is concerned.
    Alternatively, you could have converted the file(s) to a compatible compression format it which case they may or may not be useable. If converted by a QT application like QT Pro, GarageBand, iTunes, etc. the video will convert but will not retain any audio. Of course, you can always open iMovie '08 to see if the files are really there and, if they are, open them in the QT Player to see what compression formats they actually contain at this time.
    According to your notes, an MPEG1 format would not be compatible -- so how did I get the clips the day before into I movie? I do a lot of "trial and error" things -- something obviously worked. Any idea what I might have done??
    I repeat that multiplexed MPEG-1 files are "playback only" compatible with QT applications. They will cannot be converted and retain audio nor can they be edited by QT applications. These files contain blocks of audio data interspersed with blocks of video data in a single data stream to spatially synchronize audio with video and prevent overrun. Fully supported QT files (playback, conversion, and edit compatible files) contain separate audio and video tracks which are synchronized temporally. This is why QT files are so touchy about timecode breaks and proper file termination -- something Windows media players generally ignore.
    In any case, as previusly stated you can use any third-party, MPEG-based application to convert your files. My preference is MPEG Streamclip. It is a free application that provides all of the conversion options of QT Pro without spending $30. While it does not allow layering of content with the same or independent scaling/offsets within the display frame, it does handle multiplexed compression formats if you have the proper QT components installed. It also supports audio formats like AC3 which QT does not natively support. In your case the software as downloaded from the internet will convert your Sony clips to DV, AIC (high quality/large files), Motion-JPEG, Photo-JPEG (medium quality/medium size files), or MPEG-4, or H.264 (lower quality/small size files) all of which can be edited by iMovie '08 natively.

  • I would like to know how to put my .mp4 music videos into the .....

    Hello
    I finally learned how to turn my music videos into a format that will play on my ipod and I am excited as **** about the whole thing. My one problem is I can't seem to put the music videos into the music video section. I would like to put my music videos in the music video section and I plan on making some of my favorite movies into .mp4 and keep them in the movies section. I would also like to know if I can have different folders for my movies? probably not eh? I guess they might just have to be in one big pile. That's ok I guess. So what's with the music video section? It would be nice to put them there. I guess while I am waiting for a response I am just going to convert the music videos and put them in the movies section..
    Also I would like to share what program I am using to convert the files .. it's called
    " WinAVI iPod/PSP/3GP/MP4 Video Converter "
    And it works great! Someone on my Facebook account told me about it. I tried to ask people here what I should use but I don't think I got a straight answer ( either that or I am mildly ******** or something )
    One more question. How to I put my pictures into separate folders on my ipod?
    Aaron

    Hi everyone !
    please forget about the pictures question because I figured that out ok !!
    I just need to know if it is possible to put my .mp4 music videos in the music video section of iTunes and my iPod. Like I said I want to just put full length movies in the movie section. And I would like to have my movies in maybe separate folders like I said. One for Anime, One for Animation ect ect ..
    ALSO I am wondering can I make my Windows Media Player Classic the default for .mp4 files? I tried to do that but it was giving me some weird error message
    when I try and make it the default for .mp4 I get this message
    " Windows Media Player Classic does not have enough privileges to change file formats. Please click on " Modify " button To Get Administrator rights. "
    Does this mean that only Apple programs should be used to view these files?

  • How to import large excel files which exceeds more then 65535 rows

    Hi there,
    I am using the latest Numbers version (v3.5.3) on the latest Yosemite (10.10.3) and wonder if and how it is possible to import an Excel file which exceeds the 65535 limit. I know MS Excel has change this limit to 156118 rows. But I don't have that program. I am only using the Mac versions.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello NavNak.
    My knee jerk reaction would be to split the incoming Excel file.  (How else can a gallon of water fit into a half gallon jug?)  I googled 'Excel file splitter' and up came a bunch of hits with one of them coming from this Apple Community.  Check out thread #6486876 which is How To Split Large Excel or CSV Files into Smaller Files
    Good luck.

  • How to import MPEG-1 camcorder video into iMac?

    I have a Sony digital camcorder purchased in 2002 which records to film. I would like to import the video from this camcorder into my iMac (purchased Jan. 2007) for playback on the computer and to burn the video to DVDs.
    When I hook up the camcorder to my computer via Firewire cable and turn it on to the VCR position for importation into the iMovie HD program, nothing happens. There is no communication between the camcorder and the iMovie HD program. None of the steps recommended by Apple that I have tried to establish communication between the camcorder and iMovie HD have worked. It appears that the camcorder format (MPEG-1) is incompatible with iMovie HD.
    I will appreciate any knowledgeable advice on how to successfully import this video into my iMac for the intended purposes.
    Bob

    Thanks for your responses.
    I’m embarrassed to admit that I miscued in attempting to import the camcorder video into my computer. I corrected my mistake and successfully imported the video, watching it on the iMovie monitor and seeing the video clips appear as the import proceeded.
    I added the clips to the movie and saved the project. I just got through playing back the whole movie. Yippee!
    I was surprised that this 12-minute recording produced a movie file size of 2.14 GB. Ouch! Is this normal? If so, I’m glad I opted for a 500 GB hard drive on this iMac!
    You may be wondering where I went wrong in my initial attempts to import this movie into my computer. John was right in saying “...it should be as simple as you thought.” Simple, that is, if you follow all of the necessary steps! Where I missed the boat was in not clicking the Create button after entering the various pieces of information into the Create Project window. I obviously overlooked the fact that Apple treats the importing of a simple camcorder video into a computer as a major movie-making event. The next time I go through this exercise I’ll don my Martin Scorsese hat to make sure it doesn’t happen again!
    The next step will be to burn this movie to a DVD. Wish me success as I research how to do this without any further miscues.

  • How to import custom java jar/class into oracle to be used in java proc ?

    Hi
    I would like to know how to import custom java jar/class files into oracle to be used in java stored procedure.
    I am developing a oracle pl/sql procedure to call java program. The java program will be created as procedure and will be published.
    But, my question is that I do have a other external jar/class file that need to be imported into this java program.
    example
    raise_sal.java
    import java.util.*;
    import oracle.sql.*;
    <<reference other java programs >>
    import cmpmsgsvc.xxxx.* ;
    import cmpmsgsvc.yyyy.* ;
    import cmpmsgsvc.zzzz.* ;
    how do I import the cmpmsgsvc jar/class file into oracle so that I don't have any
    compilation errros on raise_sal.java program ??
    what are the steps to import/compile and validate to do this?
    thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks
    rrb.

    Kuassi
    Problem is that, I have 6 jar files that are needed to be included in the main java program. And, there are more than 50+ classes, propertiers in those 6 jar files.
    It might be not good idea to have all those 50+ classes in the production database.
    Is there anyway that I keep all those 6 jar files in unix box (our's is oracle erp installation with oracle being installed on unix box) and just refer them in the main java program. I mean database will be loaded with main java program and it should able to refer other 6 jar files from unix.
    if we create a directory and keep all jar files in there and include that directory in classpath variable, does this works? or what is other method?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

  • How to Import AVCHD 1080/60p Files into Final Cut Pro 7?

    How do I import AVCHD 1080 / 60p Files into Final Cut Pro 7? And if there is no direct way [I certainly haven't found one, but I'm no expert], what additional software would be used? I want to import the files from a Panasonic HDC-HS700 onto an Intel Mac laptop [Mac OSX 10.5.8]? Obviously I don't want to compress & compromise my footage.
    I’m sure a simple, straightforward series of steps would help many people with this issue.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the response!
    I'm guessing you've found ClipWrap2 to be better than competing products [such as AVCHD Converter for Mac, Toast Titanium, or Voltaic].
    On to the next steps. Using Clipwrap2, would I leave the checkbox "Convert Audio to LPCM" selected or deselected [and what the heck is LPCM?]. In the pulldown menu would I choose "Rewrap (Don't alter video samples)" or do I save a step by choosing "Apple ProRes 422"?
    And finally, am I gaining anything by shooting 1080/60p on this Panasonic HD Camera other than a headache? [Some have suggested this is not a True 60p.]
