How to import multiple songs into iTunes

Hello there...
I am fairly new to iTunes and am becoming frustrated with this particular issue. Prior to using iTunes, I used Kazaa, where whenever a song was added to My Shared Folder, Kazaa would update the library instantly. I want to have the same sort of thing with iTunes. For example, one of my friends filled my USB drive with music today. When I came home and plugged it into my computer, I dragged and dropped all the songs into my iTunes Music folder. I expected them to appear in the library, but they're not there. I don't know how to add them all to iTunes without importing them one by one. I suppose in this case I could import my entire USB drive folder, but what if someone sends me a handful of songs as an email attachment or over MSN? How do I import those?
Thank you!
Melody

iTunes for windows doesn't "Watch" folders and files for changes like other programs. You need to goto File>add folder to library so it will "Piont" iTunes to where the music is located on the system.

  • How to import multiple folders into itunes at ones

I have 40 gb of music that i have transfered to my new macbook pro, They are in thousands of folders and praying that there is a way/ app to do this. Thanks

Don't move them then consolidate. That won't add them to iTunes.
    You can...
File > Add to library and select the top level folder with the music
Drag the top level folder to /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/Automatically add to iTunes.
FYI: I keep a shortcut of the /Automatically add to iTunes/ folder on my desktop. Then just drop stuff onto the shortcut to add to iTunes.

  • Cannot import multiple songs into my library!

I can import a folder and a single song but I can't import multiple songs in iTunes 7!! Version 6 was fine! Also the icon for iTunes is missing!

All PDF files imported to the iTunes library by the user will be treated as "books". You should find your digital booklet in the Books section of your library. Use the Get Info dialog box to change the media kind to music and add in the correct Album, Artist, Album Artist and Genre. The booklet should merge into the album. If not see my tip Tried that, there are STILL too many covers!
To confirm; audiobooks, digital booklets, iPod clickwheel games, iTunes LPs, iTunes extras, ringtones and selected movies are excluded from the repeat download policy that applies to other purchases from the iTunes store. Podcasts and iTunes U content is supplied independently of the store and future availability will depend on the provider. Any content may be removed from the iTunes store at any time without notice and would thus be no longer available for redownloading. You should always maintain your own backup of your iTunes library and its content.

  • I can't import any songs into iTunes.

I can't import any songs into iTunes. I can drag and drop but nothing will happen. Songs show up when a search is done but songs cannot be played or located in iTunes. I think this has something to do with the recent update because I have songs imported into iTunes from December.

I found the problem. I have VMware fusion that is hosting Window XP on the iMac. When the fusion is running the CD player is not seen in OS. By quitting Fusion I can now insert a CD and the disk icon appears on the OS screen. Now I can bring up iTunes and import the audio and continue as before. The one exception is I cannot bring in a photo of the album cover as before I have to drag the photo out of iPhoto and onto the desk top. Then I can drag it into the artwork patch in the iTunes/ info window.

  • How to import Flac files into itunes

    Hi there,
the title say it all. How can I import Flac files into Itunes?
I have a lot of them. I click onto add to library select the flac file, click on open and nothing happen.
    Many thanks for your help.
    regards

Hello CESNET the best bet is to try http://blowintopieces.com/fluke/ I myself don't use Flac files but to any audiophile it's important to hear sound at it's best. Also WAV or AIFF & ALAC you will need to use http://tmkk.hp.infoseek.co.jp/xld/index_e.html to convert into ALAC.
P.S. their is also a simple FLAC player but can't remember it one more thing converting FLAC to WAV will not give you full TAGs. Best bet is to try just one file you've copied ether straight into iTunes or convert & see what's best for you.

  • How 2 Import a CD into Itunes? I only get first few Secs of each track!!

I have just bought an Ipod and am having trouble importing my Cds into Itunes !!!
I seem to have the 'intro function' on in Itunes so I can only get the first few seconds of each track !!
Does anyone know how I can import the complete tracks and how I turn this Itunes intro setting off ?
    Thanks Owen0069

    hi Owen!
let's try checking up on some of the simpler possibilities:
You can't import or play music from an audio CD in iTunes for Windows
these resources might be helpful with that:
Updating the drivers on your Windows PC
toonz: Where to find firmware for your CD/DVD drive
... but if no joy, post back with your itunes "help > run CD diagnostics". one of the clever folk might be able to spot something in those.

  • How to add duplicate songs into iTunes?

Contrary to what many people want to do, I wish to add duplicate files into my iTunes library. I am in the middle of adding a new set including the B-side songs that were originally left out of the release of an album.
All of the songs are already in the library (including the B-sides, imported individually), however I wish to import the copies I have purposely made. I don't want to create a new playlist or anything like that.
As I understand, with iTunes 7, it does not import duplicate songs (or what iTunes thinks are duplicates - they are recorded from a different source; vinyl, not CD). It does not even give me a warning or anything at all, it just does nothing when I select the folder or individual files.
How can I force-add dupes into iTunes on Windows? As I understand, on Mac you can add dupes by holding down the option key.

    Hi, William.
Do the two different files have the same name?
If so, could you use Windows Explorer to rename the file itself so that, for example, if one is 07 The Reckoning.m4a the other is 07 The Reckoning Vinyl.m4a.
You should be able to add the renamed file to your iTunes Library - with or without then changing any of the tag information that iTunes itself displays.

  • How to copy uploaded songs into iTunes on new computer

I recently got a new computer and want to put all my songs from my iPod onto iTunes. I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook with Windows Vista Premium. The iPod is a 160 GB and I have the newest iTunes. Any help would be appreciated - I've been at this for hours!

I use an excellent free application called Sharepod, http://www.getsharepod.com/about/ which will transfer all your music from your iPod to your PC, then you import this into iTunes. Just use the Backup iPod mode in Sharepod, and make sure it is pointing to the right destination folder. Test one track or album before you transfer everything.
After this is complete add all the transferred music to iTunes. If you use Automatic be careful because syncing this will then erase everything on your iPod and transfer it back again from your PC! If you manually sync no problem.
Be careful as an automatic sync to your new iPod will wipe it clean! BEFORE you connect your new iPod to iTunes go to iTunes and change this option to prevent this:
    +Edit-Preferences-Devices-Uncheck "Disable automatic syncing..."+
Your other music that is on cd's, just copy them into your My Music folder and then add them to iTunes.
    Good luck!

  • How to import WMA files into iTunes to burn to CD?

My coworker gave me a voice recorder that records in WMA files. I cannot simply drag the audio file into iTunes like I have from other recorders. I need to get the audio into iTunes so I can burn to CD. Any ideas?

    Problems -
    EasyWMA is not free.
Switch looks fine, but after installing the wma plugin as prompted, and feeding it the first batch of .wma files, it crashed.
    I'm now 'borrowing' an EasyWMA.
Pros : simple to use. you can have it process your entire music folder at once. adds songs to itunes right away.
Cons : limited functionality! E.g. there's no option for VBR (variable bit rate), so I set it to 256 fixed. E.g. when having it run through my entire music folder, there was no option to restrict it to wma files - it also worked my flac's, for which I'd already found a better solution (fluke).
Sigh Hate to complain, but hey, this stuff would be easier on Windows

  • Copy a folder (that contains mp3s) then import said songs into iTunes?

I have made an automator-created folder action that will, when a folder, which contains an album of MP3s, is dropped into a certain folder, the folder of songs will be copied into another folder and then I want those songs to be added to iTunes.
The action works fine for copying, but it won't add the songs to iTunes. My workflow is as follows, though I've tried different things to try and add the songs:
    1) Copy finder items to folder "To Sort"
    2) Get folder contents.
    3) Add songs to playlist "Library"
Can anyone help me out on this?
    Thanks!
    -Tristan

I believe you need to use the "Add Files to Playlist" instead of the "Add Songs to Playlist". The latter command is used when the songs are already in iTunes.

  • How do I import multiple playlists into iTunes?

I have a folder on my PC named "Music" inside this folder are 5,372 sub-folders each containing the songs from specific albums, and an m3u file representing the playlist for that album. I have just started using iTunes. I have imported the music from the "Music" folder, but the playlists haven't been transfered. I have attempted to import them, but it seems that I must do it one at a time? I have tried to drag and drop them all at one, but this creates on playlist file that contains all songs, rather than the 5,372 individual playlists that I desire. Is there anyway to import all of these playlists at one time, or is iTunes a big waste of time requiring my to import 5,372 individual files?

I use OSX and iTunes and have the same approach as Scarecrow. I have about 1170 Albums/CD's which have been copied at various times over the years into my Music Library file - with each Album/CD being a subfolder. Multi-CD releases are all in one subfolder. Many CD's were not copied using iTunes and as I no longer have those old CD's - I cannot recopy them. Importing them into Music makes a real mess with many subfolders now in Music as individual non-grouped songs. So, it is easier and neater for me to make each album or CD it's own playlist. It is also then very easy to access my library via my Roku Soundbridge and copies neatly into my iPod and iPhone. It would be a real plus to have a 'bulk-copy' methodology into Playlists or Music that keet all of these items 'together'. Dragging 1170+ items took a long time! If anyone has any specific approach or recommendation I would be most interested in learning it. Thanks.

  • Problems importing multiple files into iTunes

I'm running the most recent version of iTunes. When I try to add multiple files to my itunes library a box pops up and it seems to be importing, but when the box closes, the files are not in my library. I can only add 2 or three files at a time, but no more than that. This didn't happen with the older version of iTunes. Is anyone else having the same problem, and is there a way to solve this? I have tons of files that I want to import, but at this rate, it will take months to import them. Please help!

flash is limited to 16,000 frames.
use several swfs and load them into a main swf.

  • How do I load songs into iTunes match in chunks?

I have just bought iTunes Match and now want to load my entire music catalogue to iCloud. I have approximately 19.000 music-titles all stored on a NAS-server. They´re all playable from iTunes on my Mac (running Maverick OS X).
I've tried transferring the songs four times, and every times iTunes stops transferring when it reaches 800/900 songs. There' s no way to pause, continue from last transfer or even transfer the songs to iCloud in chunks (Titles with A, then titles with B etc.).
    How do I
    - transfer in chunks?
    - select the songs to be transferrede, and continue with other songs when they´re finished?
    - start from last transfer, when iTunes suddenly stops transferring?
If none of the above is possible; how do I secure that iTunes Match will NOT suddenly stop transferring?
I hope somebody can help me.
    Thanks,
    Jan

While you seem to have sorted out your problem, here is a hint for those who have not yet suceeded. I have had the same issue, and googling for it reveals that several other people have the same problem. Basically, it seems that uploading many songs (i.e., when there are no matching songs in Apple's gigantic music repository) for some users will "saturate" the user's uplink capacity, causing time out issues with the iTunes server. Whether you should blame your home gateway, your ISP, or even Apple I don't know. Regardless, the solution is to temporary limit the bandwidth of your uplink. Depending on your set-up, you can accomplish this by fiddling with the QoS settings of your gateway/router, or download a program that does this for the computer that uploads the songs. I will not repeat here how to do this, but see

  • How to import multiple elements into the same line in structure Framemaker (i.e. no carriage return between elements).

I have a successful import process going now (DTD, EDD, ReadWriteRules, and Template) that imports a number of elements, but each onto a separate line. I now need to import three elements in a row on a single line. How do I set up to do that?

    Dear Wild,
A container element a structured document can either be a paragraph element, that contains one or more complete FrameMaker paragraphs (elements corresponding to chapters, titles, and list items, for instance, are typically paragraph elements), or a text range element, with content that comprises part of a paragraph. An EDD doesn't need to identify paragraph elements since containers are paragraphs by default. You make an element a text range with a text format rule that specifies TextRangeFormatting.
In your case, if you have a wrapper element that contains the three elements you want to appear on a single line, in the EDD, add a text format rule for the three inline elements that specifies TextRangeFormatting; specify the formatting of the overall paragraph in the element definition for the wrapper. If you don't have a wrapper, though, the overall paragraph will inherit formatting from whatever the containing element is; the containing element may be the document's root element or a major division such as a chapter or section. If that element's formatting is not what you want here, you can leave the "inline" elements as separate paragraph so that you can specify their formatting, but make the first two run-in heads (which is done in the Placement property of the pagination properties).
