How to import multiple video clips individually from an SD Card to computer?

When i shoot a number of video clips and try to import them individually to my computer from an SD Card, they combine together as one long clip. How do i make them appear from the SD card in multiple clips? Is it a setting on the Macbook Pro (2012)? I know this does work on other Macbook Pro's.?????

How to import multiple videos to project at once?

Bonjour, first off, I love the iMovie iOS app, however, I feel it's missing a key feature. Is there a way for me to add multiple videos into a project at once without having to select them individually, and have the screen close, then having to re open it, and search for the other, and so on and so forth.
It would be so much easier if I could just select multiple videos from the import feature on my phone. The videos take a while as it is to load in the feature, my project is being created from oldest to newest, so I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list, wait for all the videos to load so I can, and then an only select one so I must repeat the process.
Any way around this yet?

Import all your videos into iPhoto's library.
Step 1: Plug your phone into your computer
Step 2: open iPhoto (or if you have an iPhone it should open automatically)
Step 3: click on you phone under "Devices"
Step 4: hold down the "Command" key while selecting ALL the videos you want to import
Step 5: Under "Event Name" give all your videos a general title (ie. Vacation)
Step 5: Import
Step 6: Open iMovie and look for the event name under Event Library

For example... I've got a video on my iPod that I purchased thru iTunes. After it downloaded to my videos folder, I synced it to my iPod. Then (accidentally) I deleted the file from my PC... in other words, it's only on my iPod. How do I copy it from my iPod back to my PC?

Videos are presumably in the "Video" rather than "iTunes" directory; you should be able to just navigate around in that directory for the file you want rather than replacing the entire directory as that article suggests (in which case you'd want to omit the "moving the directory to the desktop" steps, and so forth).

How to compile multiple video clips in a storage bin for future projects?

I want to stock pile all of my favorite selected video snippets into bins where I can easily access them at will. I don't want the hundreds of optional video snippets clogging up the project I am working on at hand. Is there a way where I can choose and drag my favorite selected video snippets from a separate window into a new project?

You can mark certain video frames in events as favorites. Then when you bring up an event, you can select to only see the favorites. Use the Favorites tool. [Here is a good video tutorial|http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/#mark]
You can also mark video on events with keywords, and select by keyword. [Video Tutorial here|http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/imovie08.html#tag]
In both of these solutions, the clips remain in the original event, not in a different bin, however.

It should only have to do the full search the first time. From then on it should be quick.
Since yours is not, I would suspect that iMovie is not able to write the results of the search, so the next time it has to start from scratch. This could be a permissions issue.
Go to Disk Utility and try to repair permissions on your main hard disk.

How do I get video clips into Organizer from Elements?

I have broken my raw video into pieces in elements but can't get it to import into organizer.
I am using Elements 11 Trial.

The video is actually a football highlight film for our son and came to us as a single mp4 file with about 60 plays of video on it.
What I am trying to do is
1) Cut it down into 60 individual videos (which I did and currently have in my project).
2) Save the pieces off as individual video clips.
3) Get the ability to rank/rate each video and select the 25 or so that will make up the final video.
4) Polish/edit those that make the grade.
5) Organize and assemble.
Does this make sense?

How do i see video clips already imported in to an event?
I have already created and shared one movie project from the clips and from photos but now want to make another. However, when i go to the library it only shows me the content of the first project, including the photos, not all of the video clips i originally imported. I can't believe that I need to import them all again.

It seems to me that you must have imported your clips using iMovie 9, (that's why they are all in the Events folder which belongs to iMovie 9). Then you must have upgraded your current project to iMovie 10 which will have put the clips used in that project (but not all the others) into your iMovie 10 library. iMovie 10 has a totally different storage arrangement for media. You should be able to update your other iMovie 9 projects by choosing File > Update Projects and Events in iMovie 10. See: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mov902ad0c31
This does not stop you from continuing to use the projects in iMovie 9 though any further editing you do will not be transferred to the other version of iMovie.

Obviously you can not select the video to import until after iMovie populates the list of videos that are available to be imported

As long as you are using the clips with copyright permission (the organisation I work for has this for some distributers) try Wondershare (I am sure other converters are available). You can install an extension for Safari (I use FastestTube 2.2.9.3) to download from YouTube. However, please be aware that you could be breaking copyright laws when so doing.

Very true ! My main point was to show how easy it was to sync. I still think apple has a way to go to make this a great tool. It was fast to edit but when I want to send somthing to AE 5.5 it was a nightmare. I do I love how it organizes keywords and the color correction tools are good if you want to do it your self (check out this site http://www.colorgradingcentral.com/final-cut-pro-x-color-grading-table-of-conten ts ) it will be a great program if apple listens to all the comments but does not make it too complicated the you cant create quickly.
