How to import playlist windows 8

I am using Windows 8 and I need to import my playlists, which I have already saved as text files.  I see that the usual instructions are to go to File - Library - Import Playlist... but there is no Import Playlist option (see below).  Is there another way to import the playlists?

  • 11.0.2 how to import playlist?

I want to transfer all my itunes music from my Mac to a PC running Windows 8 with iTunes 11.0.2.  I cannot figure out how to import my playlists... I have a TON of music and have worked hard on my playlists! I don't want to loose it.  I copied over the library xml file, but can't figure out how to import it.  iTunes 11.0.2 doesn't have that option under Libraries any longer.  Please help!  thx.

Thank you, that did the trick.  Since I have your attention, let me ask you this:
I have the same issues, with other artists, on my ipod.  There are a few that are duplicated for some reason.  They are not duplicated on my iTunes, just the ipod.  any thoughts on that?
    thanks

  • How to import playlists in the new plays-for-sure suit for zen to

    hey all,
well before the new touch firmware, i could import wmp playlists using the import feature of media source, and then transfer it to my touch using media source as well
now my meida source does not recognize my zen touch with the new firmware on it (2.), and im using the new suite explorer that they are telling us to use with Zen now. What I can't find in this new software suite is any import feature for playlists. IF I still import using media source, I can not transfer it to the touch cause it doesn't appear in the destination panel. I couldnt find a way to save the imported playlist (in media source) to disk and then drag and drop the file using the new software suit. I could not find any file on my computer with zpl extension, even though they show up in media source.
so HOW can i import wmp playlists to my zen touch with the new firmware. And do not even mention automatic synching using WMP. that just isn't what I'm looking for...
help and suggestions are eagerly awaited...

You need to install the latest MediaSource first:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
After that, download and install the Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative Zen Touch Players.

  • How to import playlist to itunes?

There's no "Import Playlist" option in the library tab. I'm using iTunes in Windows 7 and it's not there.

Ok, so after some more searching, I've learned that .wpl playlists are proprietary to WMP.
Does anyone have a way to convert .WPL files into .M3U in bulk? I have over 100 playlists and doing it manually is not going to be fun...

ITunes will not import nor play Windows Media Audio files. If they're not copy-protected, though, you may be able to convert them with EasyWMA (freeware) or Sound Converter ($10.00 US).

  • How To : Sync playlists from iOS device back to itunes - Windows

How To : How To : Sync playlists from iOS device back to itunes - Windows (May work on Mac too)
NOTE - THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE THE MUSIC FILES ON THE COMPUTER ALREADY
If your like me and format your computers only to discover that you've lost all those time consuming playlists that you spent hours on, well your in luck.
Without any Third-Pary programs it's possible to save those awesome playlists, and pull them back from the blink of oblivion.
Step 1 - Connect iDevice to your computer and then open iTunes.
Step 2 - Locate your iDevice on the left side bar on iTunes under the heading 'Devices', click the arrow on the left of the devices name and select a playlist.
Step 3 - Right-Click the selected playlist and choose 'Export playlist', Save it as a Text file.
Step 4 - In iTunes, up the top click 'File' then locate Library, move across to 'Import Playlist...', Select the playlist you just created and click open.
Step 5 - Your playlist will appear on the left side bar under the heading 'Playlists', Select the playlist and attempt to play one of the songs contained.
Step 6 - You would have been prompted that iTunes doesnt see the file, select 'Locate' and then go to the location of your music and locate the file.
(Sorry dont have an image for this one due to having all my music already found)
Step 7 - Doing this once will find all the music in the playlist given that it's in a similar location of the song you found.
Congrats you have successfully moved a playlist back from oblivion

    There's a different method.
    1. On iTunes -> Devices -> <your device> -> Summary -> Check Manually manage music and videos.
    2. On iTunes -> Devices -> <your device> -> Summary -> uncheck Manually manage music and videos.
    done.

  • How to import itunes music & playlists frm extrnal drive onto new computer?

HI! i have had my itunes library on an external drive for some time because my old laptop didnt have enough memory. i have now purchased a new computer (HP 6700 w/ Vista) with enough memory to hold that library. i think i'd like to import the library to the new computer and leave the external drive and old laptop as back-up. can someone please advise me how to import the library from the external drive onto my new computer in a way that is sure to include all my playlists (im a dj & my playlists are my life!). THANK YOU!!

Ok if you active library file is in the iTubes folder in c:\...My Music, you should have the location of your iTunes Music folder pointing at the folder with you music file on the EHD.
    Look in Edit>>Preferences>>Advanced>>General.
(This just confirms things are as you say).
First you need to be sure all your music files are in the iTunes Music folder that you are using on the EHD. Consolidate if they are not.
I assume that the iTunes Music folder in c:\...My Music\iTunes will be empty if you moved all your files to the EHD.
You need to install iTunes on your new computer, but don't add any new music.
Copy the iTunes folder from your c: drive into a convenient place on your EHD.
Now go to your new PC and, with iTunes closed, drag the iTunes folder out of Music to the desktop.
Now copy the iTunes folder that you just saved on the EHD into Music on the new PC so that it replaces the one you dragged out.
You will probably need to set the permissions on the folder to allow your account full control.
    Vista file folder permissions help
    http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/2464a180-e5dc-45d1-a2b8-3c8a 2b571e9d1033.mspx
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/05/25/how-to-take-ownership-and-grant-permiss ions-in-windows-vista/
At this point, you could duplicate your previous setup by setting the location of your iTunes Music folder to the EHD, but you said you wanted the music on the laptop.
Delete the empty iTunes Music folder in c:\...Music iTunes and replace it with the iTunes Music folder from the EHD. If this folder is not called iTunes Music, rename it. Also check the permissions are OK.
With any luck you should now be able to start iTunes and have your library intact.

  • How do I get the "playlist" window to open on the left side of the Itunes library

When I first started using Itunes, the playlist window was located on the left side of the library window. Somehow it got moved to the right side and being a creature of habit, I'd like it back on the left side. I'd also like to know how to lock it so it won't move again. Thanks

Cntrl + S will enable the sidebar.

  • How do I import playlists from an old library file?

How do I import playlists from an old library file?
I have a new computer and it has the music files completely reorganized from my last computer so I can't just drop in my old library files and have it work. Basically, I'm hoping there is some way to recover my old playlists from my old backed up copy of my music library without recreating my old jumbled file paths and just using my old library.

Backup the current passwords with the Password Exporter extension.
Then you can re-import them afterward.
For restoring the names and passwords from Firefox 3.5.x and later you need the file signons.sqlite from the old profile.
You also need the corresponding file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/key3.db key3.db] that stores the encryption key in addition to the signons file.
    Password Exporter: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2848
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Password_Manager#Backing_up_and_restoring_passwords
For the bookmarks to need to do something similar unless you have a HTML backup of the old bookmarks because restoring a JSON backup replaces all current bookmarks.
If you need to preserve current bookmarks then you can export your bookmarks in Firefox to an HTML file and import that file afterward.
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Export HTML & Import HTML > From File
Another possibility is to use the clipboard to store selected bookmarks before restoring a JSON backup (e.g. All Bookmarks: Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C).
You can paste the bookmarks from the clipboard back after you have restored a JSON backup.
That will preserve all data including tags and annotations, but you should create an HTML backup to be safe.

  • Windows Mail - Thunderbird. Online help does not match program. How to Import?

I'm attempting to follow the Thunderbird directions (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_switching-from-windows-mail-or-windows-live-mail-to-thunderbird) online for Converting from Windows Mail (Not Live Mail) to Thunderbird. I'm at the Import Step. The instructions say:
"In Thunderbird, go to Tools | ImportExport | Import all messages from a directory | Also from its subdirectories."
Under Tools, there is an Import, but no ImportExport. When the Import option is chosen, it does not allow for a directory location, only what to import (Eveything, Mail, Contacts, etc.) When choosing "Import Everything" and pressing "Next" nothing is in the list to import. The "Next" button does nothing and the Cancel Button cancels the entire Import.
Can someone explain (or point to a current and accurate article on) how to import all mail (with local mailboxes and file structures kept intact).
    Thanks.

In the first paragraph of the section "Importing Windows Mail Messages", it states you must download and install the ImportExportTools add-on. Once installed, the relevant menu options will appear in TB.

  • How to import a playlist in Home Sharing From Computer to ...

How to import a playlist in Home Sharing From Computer to computer and other devices?

No need to "import". Just find the photo in iPhoto (i.e. within the application), click it once so it's highlighted with a blue outline, then select Edit menu > Copy (or just ⌘-C). Go to Address Book, select the contact, click the Edit button at the bottom, click once on the blank photo icon so it's highlighted with a blue outline, then select Edit menu > Paste (or just ⌘-V).
FYI, the original iPhoto images are stored as individual files, in ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/subfolders.
    Hope this helps...
